Caffeinated Happiness Card

Happy Friday! Sometimes life doesn't go as planned and sometimes it's for the best. It's been a crazy week for me but I finally had time to make a card for the Spring/Summer Coffee Lover's Blog Hop. The image is by Jessica Lynn Original and I paper pieced the coffee/tea cup and then colored the cactus with Stampin' Blends markers in Green Apple with a touch of Lovely Lipstick for the little flowers. I debated about a sentiment and finally came up with Caffeinated Happiness which I made using the computer. The scalloped frame around the image was made using a die cut by Taylored Expressions. All the papers were found in my scrap bin and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Cupcake Birthday Card

Well... I never went outside today! It's still really cold and I decided just to stay home, do laundry and make a card. The hubby is picking up a pizza on his way home and the plan is to take it easy this evening. I hope you can do the same!

When I was searching for the image to use I decided to look through my already printed images and I found this cupcake. I'm playing along with Day 4 of the Bugaboo Birthday Bash and it's a Bingo challenge, my selections are middle row down using Cake/Cupcakes, Bugaboo Image and Bold Colors. Looking back to see when I used this image last it was January 2014 for Bugaboo's 4th Birthday Bingo Challenge. How funny is that? Click here to see that post. I decided to make my cupcake similar to the first one with a paper pieced liner and puffy paint for icing. All patterned paper are by The Paper Studio and the sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts. Three sequins for sparkle and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Under the Weather Card

With Spring comes seasonal allergies and that came make you feel Under the Weather. This afternoon I spent some time making this Under the Weather Card using the Spring Showers stamp set by Newton's Nook. Now I'm prepared with a cute card in my stash. The design idea was inspired by a card made by Jennifer Jackson. I like how she arranged the patterned paper above the image. The clouds and striped paper on this card are by Echo Park and the paper pieced umbrella are scraps from Crate Paper. I did go a little crazy with the rain drops but they needed to splash into the puddles. The image was colored with Copic markers and I added three clear sequins on the clouds for some sparkle. That's it!

Coffee Making me Awesome Card

This COFFEE is making me AWESOME!!! In some ways this sentiment defines me, I'm like the little mouse until the coffee kicks in. Another thought...Wheaties may be the breakfast of champions but I bet if you follow it with a few cups of coffee... you would be unstoppable.

There is still a couple of days left to join the fun with the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. This is my second card for the hop and I used the challenge colours at ColourQ to make this card. The colours include: Early Espresso, Kraft, Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise and White. The image is called Colby's Caffeine by Whipper Snapper Designs, Inc. It was stamped onto several pieces of paper and paper pieced together. Warm Gray Copic markers were used to colour the mouse. The sentiment is also by Whipper Snapper Designs, Inc and was stamped with Memento black ink. Due to the large size of the image I kept the layout simple and added three brown sequins for sparkle. That's it!

Trick or Treat Cats Card

Good day and welcome to another sneak peek of the new Trick or Treat in the Pumpkin Patch stamp set by Jessica Lynn Original. If you follow my blog then you might know I adore cats. When I saw the preview for the new stamp set I was thrilled to see a cat was included.

To create this Tick or Treat Cats Card I used my favorite Halloween colors: Basic Gray, Pumpkin Pie and Rich Razzleberry. Some silver texture paste by Heidi Swapp was added to the patterned paper with the Dot Fade stencil by Tim Holtz. The polka dot cats were fussy-cut and the outside edge of each cat was darkened with a black marker to give them a crisper look. Using the marker also helps to hide any small cutting mistakes. A scalloped frame die cut by Taylored Expressions was used with Pumpkin Pie cardstock and some twine was wrapped around the bottom. The sentiment was punched with a circle punch and matted to a slightly larger gray circle. That's it!

The Trick or Treat in the Pumpkin Patch stamp set will go live at Jessica Lynn Original on Saturday, September 17th at 8:00 a.m. CST. Supplies are limited, so make sure to get yours! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Brentwood Cupcake Card

Have you fallen in love with the adorable owl named Brentwood? Well, I have! He is designed by Jessica Lynn Original and she has digital images and clear photopolymer stamps available featuring Mr. Brentwood. This card features the Birthday Digital Brentwood Owl image. He was colored using Copic markers and then die cut using a stitched square die by Lil' Inkers. Since I love using cupcake liners when I bake cupcakes, I did a little paper piecing with a small floral pattern. The layout on this card just evolved as I played around with paper, but I think it turned out pretty cool. The Birthday Wishes sentiment is a die cut by Impression Obsession called Birthday Top Edgers. That's it!

Chevron Cup Coffee Card

There are already over 180 card entries at the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and it's only day 2. This Chevron Cup Coffee Card is my second entry. I've used a stamp set by Your Next Stamp called Coffee Break. It was one of the stamps sets I found during the last hop that made my list. The layout is from Tuesday Morning Sketches #356 and all patterned paper are from the Sunshowers collection by Heidi Grace Designs. Instead of coloring the image I decided to paper piece it to add the chevron to the cup. The image was stamped three times, once on the white backround cardstock, second onto the chevron paper and third onto Crumb Cake cardstock. I did use Copic markers to color the nose and ear. The polka dot area was stamped using the Kinda Eclectic stamp set and Lost Lagoon ink by Stampin' Up! Three rhinestone flower stickers by Jolee's were added for the final touch. That's it!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Cupcake Valentine Card

It's time to get the Valentine cards I made my family in the mail!!! This Cupcake Valentine Card was made for one of my nieces. The cupcake image is a stamp by Impression Obsession. I stamped it several times onto different paper, cut out the pieces and paper pieced it together. The icing was colored with Copic markers and then glossy accents added to make it shine. All patterned papers are from the With Love paper pad by American Crafts. Some twine was added and three punched hearts for detail. Nothing fancy, just simple and sweet.

Bear Love Card

Hello! It's Tuesday again and that means it's time for another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown. This week we want to see your paper piecing skills. Our wonderful sponsor is Robyn's Fetish who generously provided the design team with several images to choose from. For this Bear Love Card I used the It's Bearly Love image. I chose this image for the ease of paper piecing the heart. When it comes to paper piecing, I'm not an expert. My scissor skills could definitely be improved. So, keep that in mind, you don't have to be a paper piecing expert to play along. If you've never tried paper piecing then challenge yourself to try something new. You have until mid-day Monday February 8th to link your creation. Click here to check out the design team inspiration and for all the challenge details.

To create this card I used my favorite color, purple, and I wanted the heart to be plaid. It was a little bit of a challenge to match the plaid paper with other purples in my stash. There was a piece of paper that I knew would be perfect, however I couldn't find it. I know I've seen it before but sadly I may have never purchased it. Do you ever do that? Think you have something but you don't, or even buy things twice because you don't remember buying them. The answer to both of these dilemmas for me... is YES!

In the end both patterned papers selected are by Paper Pizzazz. The scalloped oval and center oval are by Avery Elle. To color the bears I used Copic markers. I masked a Love You stamp by The Paper Studio to only use the Love part. To add some detail, I added some Honeydew twine from The Twinery. That's it!

Cupcake Celebrate You Card

Happy Tuesday! It's time for Team B to provide inspiration at Tuesday Throwdown and this week our theme is TREATS. One of my favorite treats is a cupcake, or a cookie, basically any baked treat will make me happy. Our sponsor this week is Robyn's Fetish and I had a lot of fun using her Cupcake with Leaf image. Click here to check out the challenge and design team inspiration.

Since Fall is right around the corner, I decided to us warm colors on this Cupcake Celebrate You Card. When I bake cupcakes I like to use patterned paper liners, so I knew I wanted to paper piece that part of the cupcake. Harvest plaid paper by Reminisce seemed like a good choice. I colored the image with Copic markers and then fussy-cut and popped up the little flower. Using a stitched circle steel die cut by My Favorite Things the image was centered and cut. I matted the circle with a Soft Suede cardstock by Stampin' Up!. Using the same plaid paper I layered it onto an Olive card and then added a layer of polka dots by Bo Bunny along with a strip of patterned paper by American Crafts. The sentiment from the Birthday Blossoms set by Stampin' Up! was stamped with StazOn Timber Brown ink. Five peach toned pastel dots were added for some sparkle and the final touch was a little clear Wink of Stella on the flower. That about sums it up.

We would love for you to join our TREATS challenge this week at Tuesday Throwdown. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Paper Pieced Owl Card

I hope everyone is having a lovely day! Here is my last card for this month. This Paper Pieced Owl Card is full of rich earth tones. The patterned paper is from the Edamame collection from K & Company. This paper has been in my stash for awhile. When I like something a lot, sometimes I don't use it. I hoard it away for "something special".  However, this paper was perfect for the card design. The patchwork design is based off a quilt. I wanted something different, something that you don't see everyday. It's still simple with no fussy details and the paper pieced owl deserves all the attention.  Thanks for stopping by!

Balloons Birthday Card

I was not happy with the card I made on Friday for the CAS-ual Friday challenge.  So today I made another one.  The challenge is to use two circles and the card Friday I used some cute little brads but yes they are round.  I asked my husband how many circles he saw on the card and he said eight.  Well, eight is not two.  This Balloons Birthday Card was made for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge and the Moxie Fab birthday challenge.  The balloons are paper pieced from some fun patterned paper scraps and the buttons are the two circles.  If your looking for more great card inspiration, click on the links and check out the other entries.

Balloons Birthday Card Supplies:  Blue cardstock, white cardstock, patterned paper scraps, black dye ink by Stampabilities, balloons stamp by Stampabilities (NR1025), VersaMark watermark stamp pad, Happy Birthday sentiment stamp by TPC Studios (Greetings Set, ST93416), Zing! embossing powder in blue metallic finish (27161), heat tool by The Paper Studio, hemp twine, and wood buttons by American Crafts.
