Cupcake Birthday Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share my latest card. My birthday stash is still really low, so I seized an opportunity to make this Cupcake Birthday Card using the Inky Paws challenge colors to use: white, gray, black and pink. Color challenges help push me out of my comfort zone. Pink is one of those colors I don't gravitate to and I don't use it that often. Both of my nieces like pink so I decided to think of them when making this card. When celebrating birthdays I think cupcakes are fun, so I used the cupcake image from the Newton Loves Cake stamp set. The image was colored with Copic markers and then fussy cut. Some diamond Stickles was added to the cupcake icing for some sparkle. The gray patterned paper is from Stampin' Up! and the pink was a piece of scrap that was still fairly large. To add some detail I stamped the heart banner by Crate Paper with Berry Burst ink by Stampin' Up!. The happy birthday sentiment from the Newton Loves Cake stamp set was stamped with Memento black ink and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Cupcake Birthday Card

Well... I never went outside today! It's still really cold and I decided just to stay home, do laundry and make a card. The hubby is picking up a pizza on his way home and the plan is to take it easy this evening. I hope you can do the same!

When I was searching for the image to use I decided to look through my already printed images and I found this cupcake. I'm playing along with Day 4 of the Bugaboo Birthday Bash and it's a Bingo challenge, my selections are middle row down using Cake/Cupcakes, Bugaboo Image and Bold Colors. Looking back to see when I used this image last it was January 2014 for Bugaboo's 4th Birthday Bingo Challenge. How funny is that? Click here to see that post. I decided to make my cupcake similar to the first one with a paper pieced liner and puffy paint for icing. All patterned paper are by The Paper Studio and the sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts. Three sequins for sparkle and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Cute Puppy Birthday Card

Hello and happy Friday! My nephew will turn two later this year, so I thought I would go ahead and make his birthday card. The image is from the Birthday Puppies set by Bugaboo Digi Stamps and it was colored with Copic markers. I used some fun bright papers from the Playlist paper pad by Hampton Arts (2013). A scalloped die cut from by Taylored Expressions frames the image. The sentiment is by Hero Arts and some sequins were added for sparkle. That's it! I'm glad you stopped by my blog and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!!!

* When it comes to choosing between fur or feathers that's a hard choice for me. I love them both, but I guess I love the furry animals more than our feathered friends.

Cupcake Celebrate Card

Hello crafty friends and happy Tuesday! It's time to start another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown and this week the theme is Party Time (something to celebrate). It seems I'm always low on birthday cards, so I used the Kittys Cupcake Tower Colored image from our sponsor Di's Digi Stamps to create this Cupcake Celebrate Card. As always, we would love for you to join the challenge this week. You can find all the details and design team inspiration HERE.

This Cupcake Celebrate Card is an A6 sized card 4 1/2 x 6 1/4. When I first started making cards this was the size I made. Then I noticed most people made A2 sized cards and I changed but every once in awhile I make the larger size.

Cupcake Celebrate Card Supplies:
  • Paper: Cupcake and pink polka dots by The Paper Studio, Melon Mambo Cardstock by Stampin' Up!.
  • Stamps: Kittys Cupcake Tower Colored by Di's Digi Stamps and Time to Celebrate sentiment by Stampin' Up!.
  • Ink: Memento black
  • Other Stuff: Big Shot, Avery Elle scalloped oval frame, Itty Bitty Banner punch and Washi Banner punch both retired by Stampin' Up! and pink sequins.

Newton's Cake Day Card

There are many things that make my "favorite" list and two of those things are Cats & Cupcakes!  When Newton's Nook recently released their Newton Loves Cake stamp set it was quickly added to my shopping cart. This card was made to play along with the current Inky Paws Birthday Challenge. I wanted to keep the colors more masculine to join the Crafting By Designs Challenge and because I'll probably give this card to my hubby on his next birthday.  I'm also entering it into the Crafty Creations Anything Goes Challenge. To color the image I used Copic markers, Newton is colored to look like our first kitty we had together using warm gray tones. The rest of the colors were selected to coordinate with the patterned paper. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Newton's Cake Day Card Supplies:
  • Paper: Whisper White cardstock, patterned paper from We R Memory Keepers Cakes and Candles paper pad, and X-Press It Blending Cardstock.
  • Stamps: Newton Loves Cake by Newton's Nook

Kitty with Cupcakes Birthday Card

Hello! It's been a nice lazy Sunday at my house today. The hubby decided to take a nap, so I seized the alone time and made this Kitty with Cupcakes Birthday Card. I've used some of my favorite summer colors which include: light blue, lime green and coral pink. The layout is from this weeks challenge at Sketch Saturday. I used a new digital image from Di's Digi Stamps. It's called Cat and Mouse Cupcake Tower and it came pre-colored which saved some time. The background patterned paper is by Bella BLVD from the Family Frenzy collection and the sentiment by TPC Studios was stamped directly onto the paper using Memento black ink. For the side flares I used plaid paper by Lawn Fawn. Some lime green twine was added along with three sequins and this card was done.

Cupcake Mouse Birthday Card

It's late and National Scrapbooking Day is almost over, but I wanted to share the card I made today. In my family we have several birthdays in May, so I made this Cupcake Mouse Birthday Card. The layout is from the Paper Play Sketches challenge 007. I've used a precolored image I found at Paper Creator called Sneaky Mouse Birthday Cupcake and it was die cut using a stitched square die by Lil' Inkers. The papers were selected to coordinate with the colors in the image. To add the Birthday Wishes sentiment by Taylored Expressions I used the coordinating mini decorative label dies, tied some twine to the top and adhered with dimensionals. The final touch was adding three sequins for some sparkle. That's it! I hope you had a lovely day and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Cupcake Valentine Card

It's time to get the Valentine cards I made my family in the mail!!! This Cupcake Valentine Card was made for one of my nieces. The cupcake image is a stamp by Impression Obsession. I stamped it several times onto different paper, cut out the pieces and paper pieced it together. The icing was colored with Copic markers and then glossy accents added to make it shine. All patterned papers are from the With Love paper pad by American Crafts. Some twine was added and three punched hearts for detail. Nothing fancy, just simple and sweet.

Cupcake Celebrate You Card

Happy Tuesday! It's time for Team B to provide inspiration at Tuesday Throwdown and this week our theme is TREATS. One of my favorite treats is a cupcake, or a cookie, basically any baked treat will make me happy. Our sponsor this week is Robyn's Fetish and I had a lot of fun using her Cupcake with Leaf image. Click here to check out the challenge and design team inspiration.

Since Fall is right around the corner, I decided to us warm colors on this Cupcake Celebrate You Card. When I bake cupcakes I like to use patterned paper liners, so I knew I wanted to paper piece that part of the cupcake. Harvest plaid paper by Reminisce seemed like a good choice. I colored the image with Copic markers and then fussy-cut and popped up the little flower. Using a stitched circle steel die cut by My Favorite Things the image was centered and cut. I matted the circle with a Soft Suede cardstock by Stampin' Up!. Using the same plaid paper I layered it onto an Olive card and then added a layer of polka dots by Bo Bunny along with a strip of patterned paper by American Crafts. The sentiment from the Birthday Blossoms set by Stampin' Up! was stamped with StazOn Timber Brown ink. Five peach toned pastel dots were added for some sparkle and the final touch was a little clear Wink of Stella on the flower. That about sums it up.

We would love for you to join our TREATS challenge this week at Tuesday Throwdown. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

There are two new colors used on the card, Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush along with Pool Party, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Whisper White. The cupcake stamp is by Hampton Arts and it fit perfectly in the 2" punched circle. Sweet Cupcake Valentine Card

Welcome to all my new followers! I'm only one follower shy of hitting 100. Whoo hoo!!! Today I have another card I made for the Cards from the Heart card drive. This Sweet Cupcake Valentine Card is a simple layout with minimal supplies. I'm trying really hard to adhere to the rules and that means no bling. The black scribble heart patterned paper is from The Paper Studio and the cupcake stamp is from the dollar bin at Michael's. The cupcake liner was paper pieced using some scrap paper from my stash. I used a 2" circle punch and a 2-3/8" scalloped circle punch. The XOXO sentiment stamp is by Stampabilities and the final touch was a smidge of cherry cobbler dazzling details on the cupcake heart. Well that about sums it up. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Yummy Cupcake Birthday Card

My favorite cupcakes are chocolate cake with white icing... yum! One of the challenges to celebrate Bugaboo Digi Stamp's fourth birthday is a bingo challenge. When I read the choices (I went with the bottom row across) I knew I had to make a card using their Cupcake - Cherry on Top image. To create this Yummy Cupcake Birthday Card I paper pieced the cupcake liner with striped paper, used puffy paint for the icing and added some dazzling details to the cherry. To add some contrast I stitched around the edge of the card with black thread and added three black candy dots. The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts and all patterned papers are retired by Stampin' Up!. Thanks for stopping by and have a great night and pleasant tomorrow!!!

Cupcake Fluffles Birthday Card

Good morning! Last night I was playing in my craft room and I combined several challenges to come up with this Cupcake Fluffles Birthday Card. The challenges are:
It's a little sad that I've had this Fluffles stamp by Stampendous! for over a year and I had never inked it up. So, I decided it was time to put it to use. The cupcake liner part of the image was paper pieced with a striped paper. I used white Tulip puffy paint and topped it with fine glitter by Martha Stewart Crafts and then used my heat gun to puff it up. Fluffles was colored with Copic markers and I added some Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details to the brim of his party hat. The patterned papers are from the Color Crush 6 x 6 paper pad by American Crafts. The card stock colors are Whisper White, Primrose Petals, Lucky Limeade, and Blushing Bride all by Stampin' Up!. I decided to use a gray ribbon to match Fluffles and the finishing touch was the Happy Birthday sentiment by Hero Arts. Thanks for stopping by and have a terrific day!

Crafting buddy update: My crafting buddy is continuing to get better and he should be able to come home from the vet today. I will definitely have to get a part-time job to pay for the bill but as long as he is healthy it's worth every dollar spent. Our furry felines are our children. My hubby and I weren't able to have children so our fur babies mean the world to us. It's wonderful the special place animals have in our lives. They just make us smile.
