Ginger Kitty Thanks Card - TMS #516

Welcome back! It's time for the start of another sketch this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches and this weeks sketch is designed by me. I would love for you to play along! As always, the design team has created some wonderful inspiration. To play along just make a card using the sketch and link back to the challenge by 8 pm EST on Sunday. All the challenge details can be found HERE. I hope to see your card in the gallery!

To make this Ginger Kitty Thanks Card I used a stamp set by Unity Stamps called Cat's Meow. Copic markers were used to color the image. I colored the kitty to look like one of the rescued cats at a local shelter called Animal Aid of Tulsa. They are dedicated to helping sick, injured and abused stray dogs and cats in the Tulsa area. Next time I take them a donation I'll include this card. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Little Moments Card - TMS #504

Happy Tuesday! We had a rainy and stormy night last night, so today I'm hoping for some sunshine. If it's raining where you are then it's a great excuse to stay inside and play along with our new weekly sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. To help inspire you the design team have created some lovely examples. You have until 8 pm EST on Sunday to link your creation. Click HERE for all the challenge details. We hope you will join us and play along with this weeks sketch.

When I started making this Little Moments Card I was in the mood to make something positive and cheerful. So, I selected a recently purchased stamp set from Unity Stamps called Little Moments Big Life by Lisa Arana. Then I picked papers from the Hello Sunshine paper pad by Fancy Pants Designs (2017). Copic markers were used to color the image and the sentiment stamp was stamped using Memento black ink. Since the focal image was more rectangle in design it's taller than the square in the sketch layout and I used a straight element in place of the zig zag. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. So glad you stopped by! Wishing you a happy and crafty day.

Light in the Heart Card

Hello and thanks for stopping by! This Light in the Heart Card was made using a stamp set from Unity Stamps designed by Lisa Arana. When I came across this set I pretty much fell in love with the sentiment. "Beauty is not in the face: beauty is a light in the heart." I just love it! After stamping the image it was colored with Copic markers then die cut with a stitched circle die. All patterned papers are from the Lucky Charm paper pad by American Crafts (2012). Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. Wishing you a happy and crafty day!

Easter Blessings Card with Bunny

Hello! I decided to make one more Easter card and couldn't resist using one of my favorite stamps called Let's Be Happy by Unity Stamps. The bunny is just darling and makes me smile. Copic markers were used to color the bunny and then a stitched square die was used. For the background paper I found a piece of yellow polka dots from my scrap bin and used a small piece of floral paper from the Spring Fling Paper Pad by Echo Park. A small pink butterfly finishes it off and that's it. So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Challenges entered: Addicted to Stamps (Make Your Mark), Creative Moments (Anything Goes/Spring/Easter), Dragonfly Journeys (EveryBUNNY is Welcome), Simon Says Wednesday (Mood Board) and The Fairy and the Unicorn (Easter Rabbits).

Watercolor Kitten Card

Happy Friday! I have a quick post to share my latest card. After reading yesterday was National Pet Day, I figured I should make a card to honor our feline companions. We have rescued several throughout the years and enjoy sharing our home with them. They each have their own personalities and help to make life interesting.  😊

This Watercolor Kitten Card features a new stamp by Unity Stamps called Kitten Encouragement and my card was definitely inspired by the example by Karen Maldonado. It's been awhile since I've used watercolors, so that's what I did. To watercolor the image I used my Aqua Painter and Stampin' Up! classic ink pads. The background paper was already cut and sitting on my desk. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. Enjoy the rest of your day and thanks for stopping by!

Springtime Owl Card - TMS #498

Tuesday is here again and that means the start of another sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks sketch has a unique circle element that I really enjoyed using and I hope you will too. All the challenge details and design team inspiration can be found HERE. You have until 8 pm EST on Sunday to link your creation. I can't wait to see how you use this sketch!

The focal area of the sketch was perfect for the Springtime Owl image by Unity Stamps. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was matted to a piece of Garden Green cardstock by Stampin' Up!. The patterned papers are from the Flora No. 2 paper pad by Carta Bella. To finish off the card a sentiment by Taylored Expressions was added and that's it. Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Bee-lieve in You Card - TMS #493

Happy Tuesday! This weeks challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches features a new sketch designed by Melissa Craig. I had a lot of fun making this Bee-lieve in You Card using a stamp by Unity Stamps. Now it's your turn to use this weeks sketch and join the challenge. You have until Sunday at 8 pm EST to link your creation. Click HERE for all the design team inspiration and challenge details.

While cleaning the other day I found a loose piece of yellow gingham paper and after deciding to use the Bee Supportive stamp by Unity it seemed perfect for this card. The kraft bee paper is from the Spring Fling 6x6 paper pad by Pebbles (2015) and everything was matted to a piece of Basic Black cardstock. Using this weeks sketch for the layout made making this card super easy. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Tiny Miracles Card - TMS #490

Happy Tuesday! Are you ready to play along with another Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge? This week we are featuring Lori's favorite sketch from 2018 and she selected sketch #442 from last February. Click HERE to see the original post. You have until Sunday at 8 pm EST to link your creation. Click HERE for all the design team inspiration and challenge details. I hope to see your card in the gallery!

This Tiny Miracles Card features a butterfly and sentiment by Unity Stamps called New Fluttering Miracles. The stamp set was sitting out on my craft desk and I thought the size of the butterfly worked well with the focal area in the sketch. Copic markers were used to color the image and it was die cut with an Alterations square die by Tim Holtz. The floral patterned paper has gold foil leaves and nice pretty colors. It's from the Amy Tangerine Sunshine & Good Times 6x6 paper pad by American Crafts (2017). Highland Heather cardstock by Stampin' Up! was used to mat the floral paper and die cut scallop detail. The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of scrap blue paper and a small gold twine bow added to finish off the card. That's it! I'm hoping you have time to play along with this weeks sketch. Thanks for stopping by!

Owl Wish Card

Good day! I hope you've had a lovely weekend. We didn't do much, ran errands, did laundry and went to the grocery store. Nothing too exciting! However... I did find a local store that received a shipment of Crate Paper & Echo Park 6 x 6 paper pads for $2.99 each and that was pretty awesome. Not that I need more paper but it's hard to turn down a good deal.

This afternoon I made this Owl Wish Card using the Owlie Wishes Sentiment Kit from Unity Stamps. The image was colored with Copic markers and die cut with a stitched circle die by My Favorite Things. Two patterned paper circles were die cut using some really old patterned paper by DCWV called Linen Closet. I thought the pattern coordinated well with the little dandelions on the stamped image. To accommodate the larger image size I made the card a little bigger than usual. The finished size of the card is 4.5 x 6.25. That's it! Thanks for stopping by!

Hey Birthday Chick Card

Happy Friday! Today kicks off the start to my birthday weekend. So I made this Hey Birthday Chick Card to celebrate. The layout design for this card was inspired by a card I found while searching online for a fun layout and you can see it HERE. I was immediately drawn to the purple and green colors she used, which are my favorites, but I wanted mine to look different. It's been awhile since I got a little fussy with a card, so this one has several layers, stitching and a single flower embellishment. I contemplated several color combinations but decided the pinks and greens looked pretty with the yellow chick from the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set by Unity Stamps. The image was colored with Copic makers and most of the patterned papers are from the Spring Fling paper pad by Pebbles (2015). Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Pretty Bunny Easter Cards

Hello! When I saw the Let's Be Happy stamp set by Unity Stamps I immediately feel in love with the pretty bunny. I used the stamp set to make four of my Easter cards for this year. The layouts are the same but I changed the colors and papers on each card. This post features two of the Pretty Bunny Easter Cards and you can see the other two HERE.

I really wanted to make this Pretty Bunny Easter Card using purple, but it was a challenge finding the right purple papers. I dug through a lot of patterned papers before I decided on this combination. The background paper is from a Recollections paper pad, the floral is from a freebie paper pad from a magazine and the dark plum was a scrap from my bin. The card with the pink and green color combination features papers from the new Spring Market paper pad by Carta Bella. A little yellow butterfly finished them off and that's it. Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Blessings Card

Happy Friday! It's Spring Break here in Oklahoma and I'm having a girls weekend with my nieces and mother this weekend. It's been a really long time since we did this, so it's long overdue. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can enjoy our time together.

One of my favorite new stamps is this sweet bunny by Unity Stamps called Let's Be Happy. Copic markers were used to color the details on the bunny and then a square stitched die was used to die cut the image. When selecting the patterned papers I decided to go pastel and used Amy Tangerine Collection called Yes Please by American Crafts.  Most of my Easter cards have a butterfly, so I added a small butterfly and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Shiny Holidays Card

Wow! It's only six days until Christmas. I'm happy to report that we did go shopping and bought a few presents yesterday, but I'm far from done. It seems with each passing year I'm less enthused about shopping. My hubby is lucky if I go to the grocery store. Now... when it comes to shopping for stamps online there seems to be no problem. If only my family wanted stamps, I could handle that.

Last month I started a part-time seasonal manager position at Yankee Candle. I made two of this Shiny Holidays Card for the Store Manager and District Manager. I thought the candle image by Unity Stamps was perfect for the recipients. Copic markers were used to color the image. Only the green patterned paper is from a Christmas collection (Christmas Emporium by Graphic 45) the others are scraps from my scrap bin. Three gold sequins add some sparkle and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Kitty Thank You Card

Thanks for stopping by today! I have a quick post to share this Kitty Thank You Card I made for one of our neighbors who gave us a donation to the Rescued Kitten Medical Fund. For the story click HERE. The Really... Kitty? stamp is from Unity Stamps and I used a Catch the Bug Sketch for the layout. To select the colors I used the challenge at Color Throwdown to use: Red, Gray and Black. It's a simple card but I'm happy with how it turned out. Wishing you a wonderful day!

Bountiful Owl Cards

This year I didn't make as many Thanksgiving cards as usual. It seems crafty mojo and time were both issues. Last night I realized just how few cards I had, so I quickly made these two Bountiful Owl Cards to get in the mail this morning. The image is one I recently bought from Unity Stamps called Bountiful Owl and it was colored with Copic markers. The stamp set comes with thirteen different sentiments to choose from. With time being a factor I went with simple layouts and paper scraps from the Woodland Forest paper pad by Pebbles. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Cute Bunny Thanks Card

Hello and happy Thursday! Today I'm sharing this Cute Bunny Thanks Card that I made for the post-op nurse who helped me after my surgery. The bunny image is by Unity Stamps from the Patience & Hugs stamp set and the sentiment is from the Newton's Sick Day stamp set by Newton's Nook. All patterned paper is from the Simple Stories Life In Color paper pad. A little twine was added for detail and that's it.

This card is entered into the following challenges: Cute Card Thursday (Too Cute), Crafty Creations (Anything Goes) and Crafty Gals Corner (Anything Goes).

Kick Ass Birthday Card

My brother's birthday is this weekend, so I made him this Kick Ass Birthday Card. If you knew my brother you would understand it's also very appropriate. Hopefully he will see the humor! The stamp set is from Unity Stamp Company and it's called Jack {ass} and I used this weeks sketch at Mojo Monday for the layout. Finding the right papers with the right colors was the hardest part. I finally settled on papers from the Snippets collection by Studio Calico (2012). The image was colored with Copic markers using warm gray tones. Then I decided to add the party hat from a Newton's Nook stamp set. The final touch was the addition of four pastel glimmer dot stickers by Sticko and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!
