Butterfly Fall Blessings Card

The weekend is almost over and Fall/Autumn has officially arrived. I'm happy to report we received some much needed rainfall and the weather is much cooler. When I was in my backyard this afternoon putting seed out for the birds I noticed several butterflies fluttering around the yard. They were all different, some large and some small. I have several perennials they like to visit and a sage bush that is also popular with the hummingbirds. The backyard butterflies inspired me to make this Butterfly Fall Blessings Card. The stamp is from the retired Watercolor Wings stamp set by Stampin' Up! and the patterned paper is from the Enchanted Harvest paper pad by Bo Bunny. To finish the card I added the Fall Blessings sentiment by Impression Obsession along with three retired candy dots by Stampin' Up!. Thanks for stopping by!

Butterfly Kindness Card

Good day crafty friends! I have a quick post to share my latest card. This Butterfly Kindness Card was made using new and retired supplies by Stampin' Up!. Unfortunately the Watercolor Wings butterfly stamp is now retired, but the paper and sentiment are new. The patterned paper is from the Garden Impressions designer series paper, cardstock colors are Calypso Coral and Shaded Spruce, the sentiment is from the Abstract Impressions stamp set and the embossed panel uses one of the Petal Pair embossing folders. Three retired sequins add some sparkle and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Watercolor Wings Floral Card

Are you ready for Spring? Here in Oklahoma the trees are starting to bud and the daffodils are blooming, so we know Spring is on it's way. It will be nice to see the green leaves on the trees again, although my hubby won't be thrilled about mowing the yard. There are definitely pros and cons to every season.

Earlier this week my mom requested a couple of Thinking of You Cards to send to her friends when needed. Of course I have several in my stash, but I decided to make this Watercolor Wings Floral Card for her. I really love the floral paper by The Paper Studio and it features my favorite stamp set by Stampin' Up! called Watercolor Wings. The butterfly was stamped with Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry and Crumb Cake inks by Stampin' Up! and Memento black was used with the sentiment. A Flourish thinlit was used along with Garden Green cardstock and the cardstock mating the patterned paper is Rose Red both by Stampin' Up!. The layout is one I've used several times and I'm always happy with how it looks. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Coral Butterfly Sympathy Card

Hello! I'm feeling much better after my surgery almost two weeks ago. It's easier to sit now and I've been crafting at my computer desk on the pull out keyboard area. Honestly, I really like crafting at this lower level. I can see things better and it hasn't hurt my back. It would be nice if the surface area was larger, but it does force me to clean up when I'm done. Anyway... onto my Coral Butterfly Sympathy Card.

The challenge at SU! Only is to use Butterflies or Dragonflies and I like them both but decided to use the Watercolor Wings stamp set to make a sympathy card. All supplies used on this card are by Stampin' Up!, with the exception of the sentiment, sequins and Tip Top Taupe ink everything else is currently available. Supplies used include: Whisper White, Old Olive and Calypso Coral Cardstock, Petal Garden paper stack, Watercolor Wings stamp set, Calypso Coral and Tip Top Taupe ink, Flourish thinlits, Big Shot, sentiment from retired Simply Sketched stamp set and Fancy Frost sequins. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Feminine 40th Birthday Card

Hello and happy Friday! We enjoyed a nice rain storm last night and it brought cooler weather for today and into the weekend. This will make it much more tempting to get outside and get a few chores done. The windows off my back porch really needs washing.... but I am the queen at procraftinating!

One of my cousins is turning forty tomorrow and this is the card I made her. It's fussier than I usually make but I wanted it to be something special for her to keep. All supplies used are by Stampin' Up!, all the stamps are current but the Twitterpated dsp is long retired. Stamp sets include: Flower Shop, Number of Years and Watercolor Wings. Two of the ink colors are retired and include: Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red. Island Indigo was used and is current. Other dsp colors include: Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz. I've been trying to use up some of my retired stash before my ink pads run dry. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Yellow Butterfly Birthday Card

One of my favorite parts about summer is seeing the butterflies flutter around the yard. We typically have several little yellow/orange butterflies called Orange Sulfur in late summer. I've seen monarchs, black swallowtails and red admirals but the Orange Sulfur are one of the easiest to spot.

The butterfly was my inspiration for this Yellow Butterfly Birthday Card. It gave me another opportunity to use two of my favorite stamp sets: Watercolor Wings and Butterfly Basics both by Stampin' Up!. The dsp is retired but it's still one of my favorites,  Affectionately Yours by Stampin' Up!. Colors used on the butterfly include: Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry and Crumb Cake. Then I heat embossed the Crumb Cake area with retired Iridescent Ice embossing powder. Other colors match the dsp and include: Watermelon Wonder, Night of Navy, Cucumber Crush and Crumb Cake. That's it! Thanks for stopping by my blog and enjoy the rest of your day!

Feminine Sympathy Card

Last week I made a sympathy card using this same layout and stamps but I really wanted to see what it would look like in different colors. You can click HERE to see the first card. Don't be surprised if you see yellow butterflies on the next attempt.

For this Feminine Sympathy Card I dug out some long retired patterned paper by Stampin' Up! called Twitterpated. Colors include: Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze, Island Indigo and Basic Gray. The butterflies are from the Watercolor Wings stamp set with coordinating Butterflies Thinlits and the sentiment and label die are both by Verve Stamps. The embossing folder is retired and I added some zig zag stitching with my sewing maching. Dimensionals were used to pop up the sentiment and butterflies. That's it! Thanks for stopping by my blog and enjoy the rest of your day.

Give You Strength Card

It's been awhile since I've made a sympathy card but this week a church friend, from my high school days, lost her husband. Although I haven't seen her in a very long time I want to send her a card. This Give You Strength Card was inspired by and example on Verve Stamps website for their Forever in Our Hearts stamp set, click here. The butterflies are from my favorite stamp set by Stampin' Up! called Watercolor Wings and they were stamped using Peekaboo Peach and Cajun Craze classic stampin' pads. The patterned paper is by Quick Quotes and the Fancy Fan embossing folder is retired by Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Fall Butterfly Card

Hello! This week when I saw the color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary it was obvious I had to play along. The design team inspiration is outstanding and the colors immediately intrigued me. Create with Connie and Mary is a Stampin' Up! only challenge, so all supplies on this Fall Butterfly Card are from Stampin' Up!. Everything except the patterned paper (retired Venetian Romance) is current and include: Watercolor Wings stamp set, Love & Affection stamp set (sentiment), Flourish Thinlits, gold sequins, Soft Suede & Delightful Dijon ink, Emerald Envy, Delightful Dijon and Very Vanilla cardstock.

To create this card I knew I wanted to make a Fall Butterfly using Delightful Dijon and Soft Suede. The biggest issue was the card layout. After searching through a few sketches, I decided to use one of my previous layouts in a new way, click here for previous card. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Watercolor Wings Sympathy Card

Hello! Last night I was playing around with the Watercolor Wings stamp set and I created this Sympathy Card. It features my favorite retiring patterned paper by Stampin' Up! called Pretty Petals. For the focal panel I stamped onto patterned paper and it really softened the ink colors. The leaves are from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set and the sentiment is from a retired hostess set. I love angled panels and really enjoyed using this weeks sketch at Mojo Monday for the layout. When it came time to stamping the sentiment I debated about making it read straight or on the angle with the panel. I went with the angle because it fell in line with the polka dots. The finishing touch were three retired Crisp Cantaloupe sequins for a little sparkle.

Butterfly and Music Card

Happy Earth Day! This afternoon I went to the grocery store and when I checked out the clerk offered me a free redbud tree in support of Earth Day. Now I need to find a place in my yard to plant the little tree. I usually try to plant something every year on Earth Day even if it's just flowers in my flowerbeds. Making the Earth a little prettier one plant at a time.

This Butterfly and Music Card was made for my niece to give the donor of a music scholarship she recently received. The scholarship is for a choir group she sings with throughout the year and it was an essay contest to select the scholarship recipients. I used this layout earlier this week and loved how simple it was and it really lets the butterfly stand out. The patterned music paper is from The Paper Studio and a strip of red houndstooth pattern paper by Authentique. The Very Vanilla cardstock was embossed using the decorative dots embossing folder from Stampin' Up! and I used my favorite butterfly stamp from the Watercolor Wings stamp set. Ink colors used on the butterfly include Crisp Cantaloupe, Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black. For a little sparkle some clear Wink of Stella was added to parts of the butterfly. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and was punched with the washi tape punch. Everything is adhered flat for easy shipping and no extra postage costs. That's it!

Simple Watercolor Wings Card

Hello! We are getting some much needed rain today and that makes me very happy. The rain is a great excuse to stay indoors and make a card. I made this Simple Watercolor Wings Card for the following challenges:
All supplies for this card are by Stampin' Up! I used patterned paper from the Pretty Petals paper pad, Watercolor Wings stamp set, Bold Butterfly framelits, Decorative Dots embossing folder, Washi Label punch and a strip of retired Old Olive dsp. The ink colors for the butterfly include: Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral and Basic Black. Pretty simple!

This was such an easy card I went back and made a second one using different colors. The Watercolor Wings stamp set is probably my favorite at the moment. I love butterflies and the color combinations are a lot of fun to play with. The below butterfly is stamped with Soft Sky, Pacific Point and Basic Black.

Thinking of You Card

When it comes to sentiments, Thinking of You is a great all occasion greeting. It can be followed by... and wishing you a happy birthday,  on your anniversary, during this difficult time, etc. You can send a Thinking of You Card for no occasion at all. For this reason I believe using Thinking of You on handmade cards is very versatile.

This card was made using my favorite colors and stamp sets. All supplies are by Stampin' Up! and are currently available. Stamp sets include: Butterfly Basics, Sassy Salutations and Watercolor Wings. The colors used include: Blissful Blackberry, Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry, Mossy Meadow and Very Vanilla. To add some sparkle detail to the butterfly I used glitter embossing powder that was heat embossed. That's it!

Coral Butterfly Card

Thanks for stopping by my crafty blog to check out my Coral Butterfly Card! This card was inspired by several challenges listed here:
Choosing my favorite new stamps wasn't easy but I did it! The stamp sets include:
  • Watercolor Wash
  • Butterfly Basics
  • Watercolor Wings
All supplies on this card are by Stampin' Up! The colors include: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Soft Sky, Tip Top Taupe, Wild Wasabi, Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral. The lace ribbon in Mint Macaroon blends nicely into the soft sky background and helps provide a little texture. I used the stamp off method often to soften the ink colors. That's it! I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Bold Butterfly Feel Better Card

Earlier this week I made a masculine feel better card and since my stash of cards with this sentiment is low, I decided to make this Bold Butterfly Feel Better Card. Stamp sets used on this card include: Watercolor Wings, Painted Petals, You've Got This and Sassy Salutations. Butterflies and flowers are my favorite part of outdoors in the summer and I've used my favorite colors. The Blackberry Bliss flowers were stamped onto whisper white cardstock and then I went back and filled in with Garden Green leaves. I was inspired by this card HERE by Lisa Young. When I found it while doing a search for violets a few weeks ago, I had to know if she used designer paper and no, it was hand stamped. So, I tried it and I think it turned out okay. The center panel was stamped with Mint Macaroon and the sentiment in Memento Black. For the butterfly I used Daffodil Delight as the base, Hello Honey on the edges with Blackberry Bliss for the detail. The body of the butterfly was highlighted with black Stickles to give it a little shimmer. To add some embossed detail, I used the Decorative Dots embossing folder and that's it! This will be one of the cards I'll have a hard time giving away. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!!!

Watercolor Wings Card

There is nothing like inking up a new stamp set, especially one with beautiful butterflies!!! Every card I've seen using the Watercolor Wings stamp set added to my excitement about this set. There are so many different color combinations to play with and my Watercolor Wings Card is using colors from this weeks ColourQ #296 challenge. Colours include: Night of Navy, Marina Mist, Soft Sky, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White. The layout comes from this weeks sketch challenge at Sunday Stamps. Once I had everything stamped I decided the Soft Sky chevron paper looked too clean. I decided to use the Dot Fade stencil by Tim Holtz with Daffodil Delight ink and play along in the stenciling challenge at Tuesday Throwdown. The final addition was the twine and three silver sequins. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Watercolor Wings Card Supplies:
  • Paper: Whisper White and Night of Navy cardstock. Retired Soft Sky designer series paper.
  • Stamps: Watercolor Wings and Watercolor Wash.
  • Inks: Stampin' pads in Daffodil Delight, Soft Sky, Night of Navy and Marina Mist along with Memento Black.
  • Other Stuff: Big Shot, Bold Butterfly Framelits Dies, Dot Fade stencil by Tim Holtz, sponge dauber, silver sequins, twine from The Twinery and stampin' dimensionals.
