Newton Ice Cream Card

I scream, you scream, we all scream for Ice Cream! A part of me does believe Ice Cream solves everything or at least it should. Anyway... I'm being silly, I guess that's what happens when I'm sleep deprived. We have a cat that's been waking us up at 4 am and it's starting to make me crazy. So, after several cups of coffee I made this Newton Ice Cream Card for the Bright and Cheerful challenge at Simon Says Stamp using the colors from Coloring in Scrapland's photo inspiration (see below). The image is from the Newton's Summer Treats stamp set by Newton's Nook and it was colored with Copic markers. All patterned papers are from the Summer Days paper pad by Echo Park (2010). I got a little creative with the layout and I really like how it turned out. To finish the card three sequins were added for sparkle and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day. 😊

Nice of You Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share this Nice of You Card that I made for the 100th Challenge at Inky Paws. For this card I revisited Sketch #89 from January 14,2019. For a link to my original card click HERE. This card features an image from the Garden Mice stamp set. The image was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with the coordinating dies. It was fun selecting the patterned papers! The floral and gingham are from the Spring Fling paper pad by Echo Park (2019) and the pink paper is from the Watercolor paper pad by Lawn Fawn. A texture stamp was used on the die cut circle with Pool Party ink by Stampin' Up!. The twine came from the packaging of my last Newton's Nook order. It was just sitting on my craft desk and it seemed appropriate to use it on a card with a Newton's Nook image. Well, that's it! So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Monster Birthday Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share this Monster Birthday Card I made today. There is a Monster Birthday Bash going on at the Catch The Bug Challenge and I wanted to play along. To make this card I used patterned papers from the Happy Birthday paper pad by Echo Park (2017). The image is by Bugaboo Stamps and it's called Birthday Monster Cake. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut with a stitched square die. The birthday sentiment is by Hero Arts and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. That pretty much sums it up. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Stay Cool Card

Hello and happy Friday! Last week we had a brief cool down with some rain and now the heat is back. So, if you're like me and counting the days until Fall arrives, there is 29 days until the first day of Fall. Until then... Stay Cool!

Several years back I won a challenge at Pattie's Creations and selected this Dog Days of Summer image for my prize. Isn't she cute? The image was colored with Copic markers and die cut with a square Tim Holtz Alterations framelit. All patterned paper is from the Sweet Summertime paper pad by Echo Park (2014). Some twine was added for detail and the sentiment was created on the computer, printed, punched, matted and added to the card. That's it! Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Owl Just a Note Card

Hello! I hope you're having a lovely day. This afternoon I made this Owl Just a Note Card to add to my stash. After layering the patterned papers by Echo Park (For the Record 2 from 2012) I decided to add some stitching for detail. The Cute Owl image is by Bugaboo Stamps and it was colored with Copic markers. A retired sentiment from Stampin' Up! was used and three glimmer dots added for some sparkle. That's it!

Use Yellow at Crafty Catz

Hello and happy Friday! It's my last post as a guest designer at Crafty Catz and it's gone by super fast. The theme is always anything goes but we would love to see some yellow on your creations. The sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps and my card features the Mouse - Big Flower image (one of my favorites). For all the challenge details and design team inspiration click HERE. I hope to see your creation in the gallery!

A miss you sentiment seemed appropriate for this image and this one by Hampton Arts (Jillibean Soup Handwritten Sentiments) had never been used. All patterned papers are from the For The Record 2 paper pad by Echo Park (2012). To color the image Copic markers were used and then it was die cut with a stitched circle die by My Favorite Things. A little stamped and punched yellow butterfly was added along with three glimmer dots and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful rest of your day.

You're So Tweet Card

Good day crafty friends! There are only a couple of days left to play along with the current Inky Paws color challenge. So, today I made this You're So Tweet Card using the Newton's Nook Toucan Party stamp set and coordinating dies for my entry. It's always challenging for me to use black Copic markers, but I did it.  Neutral grays were used for blending and I tried a white gel pen for highlighting, but the pen was a little dry. Other than that I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. The papers are from the Summer Fun paper pad by Echo Park and the large pierced oval is by Avery Elle. That's it!

Easter Penguin Card

Hooray!!! All my Easter cards are in the mail on their way to family and friends. I still have a few more cards to share like this Easter Penguin Card I sent to a cousin in Texas. The cute Penguin Easter Bunny image is a digital stamp and you can find it HERE. I made another card using this image and you can find it HERE.

To color the image Copic markers were used. Both patterned papers are by Echo park, the floral is from the Hello Spring paper pad and the pink stripe is from the Dots & Stripes paper pad. The image was die cut with a pierced oval die and matted to a scalloped oval both by Avery Elle. Two yellow butterflies were added for detail and that's it.

Penguin Easter Bunny Card

Happy Wednesday! Since Easter falls earlier this year I'll have to pick between making more St. Patrick's Day or Easter cards. Between the two... Easter wins! I'm still having a hard time sitting for long periods of time, the bone spurs on my hip are not fun!!! I did buy a new padded chair today, so maybe that will help.

The stamps I ordered to make my Easter cards haven't arrived yet. So, when I found this cute Penguin Easter Bunny digital image at Whimsy Stamps, I decided to make a couple of my Easter cards with it. I adore penguins and this image is really cute. The image was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with a stitched rectangle die. All patterned papers are from the Echo Park Hello Easter 6 x 6 paper pad. It seems I covered up all the yellow in the patterned paper, but I thought yellow butterfly/butterflies went okay. Which card do you like best... one butterfly or two? I had the hardest time deciding, so feel free to help me out. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Bunny Thinking of You Card

The month of February has flown by and I almost forgot to make a card for the Gerda Steiner Progressive Challenge. The image provided this month is called Spring Bunny Friends and it's adorable. This image also works perfectly for the challenge at Allsorts to use something beginning with the letter 'B', Bunnies. I colored the image with Copic markers and then die cut it using a stitched oval die by My Favorite Things. All patterned papers are from the Hello Easter collection by Echo Park. The stamped flowers are from the retired Petite Petals stamp set by Stampin' Up! and the sentiment is from the Dottie Bunny stamp set by Unity Stamp Company. There's still a couple of days to join Gerda's progressive challenge, you can find all the details HERE. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Cake Time Card

Hello crafty friends! This week Bugaboo Stamps is celebrating their 8th birthday at the Catch the Bug blog and I made this Cake Time Card using the sketch challenge (day2). My birthday stash is really low, so this was the perfect time to play along.

Looking back on my blog I first used this image in February 2013 (click here for card). At that time, it had only been a year since I started making cards. That also seems to be the only time I used this image called Birthday Monkey - Cake. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut with a stitched circle die. All patterned paper are from the Party Time paper pad by Echo Park. I kept the colors neutral so it could be sent to males or females. The Cake Time sentiment is retired by Stampin' Up! from the Party Pants stamp set. Five small sequins add some sparkle and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Cake and Cat Birthday Card

Hello!!! I couldn't let National Cat Day go by without posting a card with a cat. My stash is very low on birthday cards so I made the Cake and Cat Birthday Card using the sketch from the Inky Paws Challenge. The main image and sentiment are from the Newton Loves Cake stamp set and the word bubble is from the Newton's Day Dream set. Copic markers were used to color the image. I decided to color Newton like a flame point siamese... if we ever adopt another kitty I would love to have a flame point. When I was digging for patterned paper I found the Party Time paper pad by Echo Park and decided it would make a nice gender neutral card. I'm hoping this card would work for a man or woman... what do you think? Cardstock colors are Emerald Envy and Pumpkin Pie both by Stampin' Up! and the final touch were three sequins. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Garden Cat Hugs Card

Hello crafty friends! Since I started this blog back in 2012 I've been playing along with challenges at Catch The Bug and the Stella Says Sketch  challenge has always been one of my favorites. I'm excited to share this Garden Cat Hugs Card with you as a Guest Designer for the challenge. Click here for the sketch, challenge details and design team inspiration. It's a bi-weekly challenge, so you have some time to play along. I hope to see your card in the gallery!

This Garden Cat - Plant Pot image is one of the first digital images I purchased and I've used it several times. I think the cat looks sad, so I usually use it for an encouragement card. The image was colored with Copic markers, trimmed and matted to Watermelon Wonder cardstock by Stampin' Up!. All patterned paper is from the Echo Park Just Be You paper pad. Other cardstock colors include: Daffodil Delight and Mint Macaroon by Stampin' Up!. The {{HUGS}} sentiment is from a Fiskars Hello Fabulous stamp set. A stamped flower from the Flower Shop stamp set by Stampin' Up! was added with a circle glitter sticker by Jolee's in the center and that finishes the card. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Many Blessings Card

Happy Tuesday! The last two weeks I was busy sewing and now I find myself behind on making Thanksgiving cards. That is my goal this week... to get as many Thanksgiving cards made as possible. This Many Blessings Card was made using stamps by Taylored Expressions called Pumpkin Bouquet. The image was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with the coordinating Pumpkin Bouquet die. It was then layered onto a die cut pierced oval and scalloped frame from Avery Elle. The damask paper is from the Fall Is In The Air paper pad by Echo Park with a strip of scrap paper down the middle. Since the image is so pretty, I decided not to add any embellishments and just left it simple. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Sunshine Bunny Card

Good day! The sunshine is out, my daffodils have bloomed and the trees are getting their leaves. That must mean we are getting close to Spring.

This Sunshine Bunny Card I made today features a digital image called Carrot Bunny by Gerda Steiner Designs. The image is the freebie I received this month for playing along in her progressive challenge and it was colored using Copic markers. I used patterned paper from the Echo Park Easter collection. The sentiment is from Newton's Nook Day Dream stamp set and the sunshine stitched die and stitched square die are both from Lil' Inker Designs. To finish it off I added three pale yellow sequins and this card was done.

Beach Turtle Card

Hello! It's Tuesday again and time for a new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz. This week the theme is Something beginning with the letter T. This was the perfect challenge to use a turtle image by Bugaboo and of course it needed to be accented with some twine. I decided to make my card for a younger guy and use bright summery colors. To create this card I used the sketch from Stella Says Sketch (#311) at the Catch The Bug Challenge. The image was colored with Copic markers and I paper pieced the umbrella to give it a subtle pattern. All patterned papers are by Echo Park from the I Love Sunshine Collection. The sentiment was created on the computer and punched with a 1" circle punch then matted with a 1 1/4" circle punch. That's it!

There are lots of crafty possibilities using the letter T and I can't wait to see what you create. Click here for more inspiration from the design team and we hope you will play along. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Easter Basket Kitty Card

Good afternoon! I have to admit that my crafting mojo has been running on low lately!!! However, this morning I was inspired by one of my fellow crafters, KT Fit Kitty, with her Easter Chick Card. I love the colors she used and the cute image by Gerda Steiner. I immediately purchased this adorable Silly Easter Kitten in Basket image to make my Easter Basket Kitty Card. I colored the image with my Copic markers and used patterned papers from Echo Park. The layout for the card comes from a sketch I found at Sassy Studio Designs. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!
