Sending Love Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share this Sending Love Card I made using the Sending Hugs stamp set and Tumbling Hearts stencil by Newton's Nook. Newton was colored with Copic markers in neutral gray tones and a Sweet Sugarplum Stampin' Pad was used for the hearts. A 1" strip of patterned paper was added for contrast and the sentiment was stamped and heat embossed onto a piece of Berry Burst cardstock. Three glimmer stickers were added for sparkle and that's it. Thanks for stopping by!

Be Mine Kitty Card - TMS #488

Welcome back! It's Tuesday and that means another Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge. This week we are featuring Jenee's favorite sketch from 2018 and she picked sketch #453. Click HERE for the original post from last May. I like looking back at what everyone created. It's fun looking at the different images and colors that were used. For the current design team inspiration and challenge details click HERE. You have until Sunday at 8 pm EST to link your creation. I hope you have time to play along!

Valentine's Day will be here in a couple of weeks and although I don't make a lot of cards for this occasion, I thought I should get started. My family knows I love cats and my hubby and I will always share our home with them. So to love me it to love cats. This Be Mine Kitty Card features an image by AuroraWings and you can find it HERE. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut with a pierced oval die by Avery Elle. All patterned papers are from the Yours Truly paper pad by Pebbles (2013). A sheer bow and three sequins were added for detail and that's it. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Cuppa Cactus Card

Happy Sunday! After working seven Sundays in a row, I finally had today off. It was nice to relax and get a few errands accomplished. While out shopping I bought a fun paper pad called Well, Hello by My Mind's Eye. It's full of bright colors and trendy images. The cactus paper worked perfectly with the Cuppa Cactus stamp set by Newton's Nook. The layout for this Cuppa Cactus Card comes from the sketch at the Krafty Chicks Challenge. The cactus image was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with the coordinating dies. White embossing powder was used on the sentiment with a blue cardstock. That's it, simple and easy! Thanks for stopping by.

Winter Snowman Card

Hello! Here in Oklahoma we've been teased with snow several times but all we received was a dusting and really cold weather. The snow seems to fizzle out when it gets here and then after it passes through it snows on the other side of us. Well, if it's going to be cold it might as well snow. Snow is pretty! It never lasts long around here, so I say let it snow.

This is my second card using this weeks sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I really like the layout and thought it would work well for this Winter Snowman Card. The snowman image is by Bugaboo Stamps, however it's not currently in their shop. Copic markers were used to color the image and Stickles add sparkle to the snow and hat. A Tim Holtz Alterations circle framelit die was used to cut out the image and then it was matted to a piece of Island Indigo cardstock by Stampin' Up!. The snowflake and striped paper are by Authentique from the Solitude 6x6 paper pad and the white knit paper is by Lawn Fawn Knit Picky 6x6 paper pad. The Warm Winter Wishes sentiment was stamped with Memento black ink and three white snowflake sequins add the finishing touch. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. So glad you stopped by! Wishing you a happy and crafty day!

Newton's Donut Card

Hello! Today was spent doing laundry and running errands. Trying to play catch-up after working yesterday. However, I did manage to make this Newton's Donut Card using the sketch from the current Inky Paws challenge. This is the first time I've used the Newton's Donut image and coordinating die by Newton's Nook. The patterned papers are from the Cream & Sugar paper pad by Doodlebug Design Inc. with the exception of the yellow polka dots by Stampin' Up!. Copic markers were used to color the image and it was adhered with stampin' dimensionals. Three heart sequins and twine finish the card. That's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Challenges entered: Inky Paws (sketch #89), Just Add Ink (Just Add Something New), Lil Patch of Crafty Friends (Anything Goes) and Sweet Stampin' (Bright and Cheerful).

Girly Dino Birthday Card

Hooray for the weekend! It's going to be a cold one, but I'm okay with that. Cold weather makes wonderful crafting days. I have a quick post to share this Girly Dino Birthday Card I made to play along with Day 4 of the Monster Birthday Bash at Catch The Bug. It's a bingo challenge and I used Die Cuts (stars), player's choice (sentiment) and Stripes. I've used this Dino Birthday image before but I always made cards for boys. This time it's girly and I think it turned out pretty cute. The papers are from the It's a Celebration paper pad by Echo Park (2014) and the pink stripes are by Stampin' Up!. Copic markers were used to color the image and the sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts. To finish it off three die cut stars were added and that's it. So glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Unicorn Celebrate Card - TMS #486

Happy Tuesday! During the next few weeks at Tuesday Morning Sketches we will be featuring our favorite sketches from 2018 and we are starting this week with my favorite. I chose sketch #446 because I love layers and angled panels and this sketch combines both beautifully. Click HERE for the original post. We definitely hope you will be inspired to play along this week. For all the challenge details and design team inspiration click HERE. I hope to see your creation in the link-up gallery!

To make this Unicorn Celebrate Card I started by selecting papers from the Dear Lizzy Stay Colorful paper pad by American Crafts (2017). The papers were cut to follow the sketch and matted to a purplish blue cardstock. Using Copic markers the unicorn image by Bugaboo Stamps was colored using coordinating colors. Then the image was die cut with a cross stitched oval by My Favorite Things and matted to a piece of Soft Sky cardstock that was cut slightly larger using a pair of deckle scissors by Fiskars. The finishing touches were the addition of three sequins and the celebrate sentiment. That's it! I'm so glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Monster Birthday Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share this Monster Birthday Card I made today. There is a Monster Birthday Bash going on at the Catch The Bug Challenge and I wanted to play along. To make this card I used patterned papers from the Happy Birthday paper pad by Echo Park (2017). The image is by Bugaboo Stamps and it's called Birthday Monster Cake. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut with a stitched square die. The birthday sentiment is by Hero Arts and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. That pretty much sums it up. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Stole My Heart Card

My crafty mojo is on the fritz, so I've had a hard time getting motivated to make anything. It seems this happens a couple of times a year. It probably didn't help that I got sick over Christmas and it's taken a couple of weeks to feel better.

This afternoon I was determined to make a card for a couple of challenges that are almost over. To help me get started I found a sketch at Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge and I used the colors from the Inky Paws challenge to use Red, Sky Blue, Black and White. Then I decided to use a new to me stamp set called Sweetheart Tails by Newton's Nook and use the raccoon image. The image was colored with Copic markers and then fussy cut. All the papers are very retired from the Stacked with Love paper stack by Stampin' Up!. Three clear sequins add the final touch and that's it. So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day.

You're Purr-fect Card - TMS #485

Welcome to the first Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge of 2019! Many of you may already know that we lost a friend and former design team member Jessi Fogan at the end of December. This week we want to honor Jessi by featuring one of her last sketches. She was an inspiration to me and I always looked forward to her creations with googly eyes and fun stitching. Will you help us remember Jessi by playing along in our challenge this week? Click HERE for all the details and design team inspiration.

It was Jessi who introduced me to Paper Smooches stamps and the idea of using googly eyes on handmade cards. I know the only reason I purchased the Chubby Chums stamp set is because of Jessi's cute creations using the set. Here is a link to one of Jessi's cards using the same image and sentiment from January 19, 2016. Her card along with this weeks sketch was used to inspire this You're Purr-fect Card.

Cards for Hospitalized Kids

Happy New Year! The last several years I have made Valentine's Day cards for the Cards from the Heart Card Drive. Sadly, this year the card drive will not take place. Life gets busy and the organizer, Winter Sims, had to make the tough decision to postpone the drive for one year. So, I found another card drive that accepts cards all year long and thought I would share it with you. It's called Cards for Hospitalized Kids and it's based out of Illinois. Although they don't have a huge push specifically for Valentine's Cards, holiday cards and general cards are accepted. If you feel like joining me and making cards for kids, please check out their website HERE for all the details.  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.
