Most of the supplies on this card have been retired and in my stash for at least couple of years, maybe more, with the exception of the new Happy Mother's Day die cut by Impression Obsession. It's a lot of fun to buy new supplies but I have many favorites that I still love to use. The flowers on this card are from the retired Secret Garden stamp set by Stampin' Up! and they were stamped with Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry inks. My go to leaf die is the retired little leaves Sizzlits die and I've used retired designer series paper in Night of Navy. The oval stitched die is from Avery Elle and that's about it. I want to thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Bunny with Butterfly Card
Good day crafty friends! Today is the start of another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown and this week we want you to Layer It Up! Our wonderful sponsor is A Day For Daisies and I've used their adorable image called Hoppity. This image features two of my favorite creatures, a bunny and a butterfly. It's perfect for any Spring card! I hope you will join us this week. You have until mid-day Monday the 22nd to link your layered creation. Click here to view all the challenge details and to see the lovely inspiration from the design team.
This Bunny with Butterfly Card was made using patterned paper from the Welcome Spring paper pad by American Crafts. The flowers were stamped using the retired Secret Garden stamp set by Stampin' Up! and die cut with the coordinating framelit dies. I colored the image with Copic markers and then the image was die cut using a stitched circle die from My Favorite Things. My Cricut machine was used to cut the pink scalloped circle. The final detail was adding the silver sequins in the middle of the flowers and coordinating colored pearls. The finished size of this card is 5.25" square. That's it and thanks for stopping by!

Yellow Flower Birthday Card
Today it's be snowing and sleeting here in Oklahoma. We've even had some thunder and lightning throughout the day. Thunder snow is what they called it. Needless to say it's been a great day to stay inside and make a card inspired by Spring colors. I used patterned paper from the Little Bo Peep Collection by Crate Paper. I've been hoarding this paper for awhile. Green is one of my favorite colors and the shade of green in this collection is just beautiful. Since the papers are pretty busy, I did some zig zag stitching to add subtle detail. The pink card stock is Primrose Petals by Stampin' Up! and I used So Saffron, Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry inks to create the flower. The yellow flower was created using the Secret Garden stamp set and matching framelits. I stamped the flower three times and did some fussing cutting for the layered center. The leaves were cut with the Little Leaves Sizzlits and the scallop circle is by Spellbinders. The Happy Birthday Wishes sentiment is from the Simply Sketched Stampin' Up! hostess stamp set and I used and oval punch and my Cricut for the base oval. The final touch was a Crushed Curry Candy Dot in the center of the flower. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

Secret Garden Birthday Card
Do you ever case your own cards? The design for this Secret Garden Birthday Card is from a thank you card I made last fall. I've used the Top Note die cut out as a frame around the sentiment and popped it up using dimensionals. The framelits that coordinate with the Secret Garden Stamp Set make it easy to create the floral cut outs using a Big Shot. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Sassy Salutations stamp set and I stamped the sentiment using Raspberry Ripple ink. The little butterfly was made using the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and Bitty Butterfly punch accented with three small pearls. The colors used are Very Vanilla, Gumball Green, Crushed Curry and Raspberry Ripple. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Wishing you a great night and a pleasant tomorrow!

Floral Mother's Day Card
Hello and Happy Monday!!! My Monday always includes catching up on laundry from the weekend. The one thing that is great about doing laundry on Monday... is it gives me time to play in my craft room. It helps that my washing machine has a very long wash cycle. By they way... have you looked at the calendar lately? It's hard to believe that Mother's Day is only a couple of weeks away. I thought I would take the opportunity to create this Floral Mother's Day Card using this weeks sketch from The Paper Players designed by Ann Schach. Then I used two more challenges as inspiration, 'ABC' Challenges has a Mother's Day theme this week and Paper Playtime has an embossing challenge. I'm also linking this card to the anything goes challenge at Make It Monday. Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic week!!!
Floral Mother's Day Card Supplies*:

One Year Blogiversary
Hooray! Today marks the one year blogiversary for Savvy Handmade Cards. So, today I am celebrating 42,000 page views, 65 card making enthusiasts (followers), and this makes the 301st post. Now, let me tell you a little story.... last year when I started this blog I had never looked up/searched for other handmade card blogs. I had no idea the vast amount of fun you could have creating cards for challenges. When I first started making cards I immediately started submitting my work to be published, not realizing the competition was steep. The only source of inspiration at the time was from published magazines. Needless to say, I had a quick reality check when I found the world of online card blogs. There are many amazingly creative people posting inspiration on a daily basis. Thanks to everyone who have left comments on my creations and chose to follow my blog. I enjoy sharing my creativity with you and I look forward to another creative year!!! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!My Zebra Floral Card is entered into the following challenges:
