Sweet Hedgehog Birthday Card

Today we welcome the month of June and the launch of the new Stampin' Up! catatlog!!! Have you found your new favorite product yet? There are lots of wonderful new items to choose from! Click here to check out the new catalog.

To make this Sweet Hedgehog Birthday Card I've used the new Affectionately Yours dsp and the sweet hedgehogs from the hostess stamp set called Love You Lots and they were colored using Copic markers. The layout is from Paper Play Sketches and I combined it with the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge at The Paper Players. I used the top row across for Yellow, Twine and Birthday. The yellow panel was embossed using the decorative dots embossing folder. For a little more detail I added a butterfly charm and three yellow sequins. The green really overpowers the yellow but hopefully there is enough yellow on this card for the challenge. I'm also entering this card in the Ooh La La Creations challenge for Critters with 4 Legs.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Umbrella Nap Relax Card

Happy Friday evening! It's the beginning of Memorial Day weekend and I thought a card with a relaxing theme was in order. I made this Umbrella Nap Relax Card using a Happy Hoppers House-Mouse Designs stamp. Bumble is pretty cute and looks very relaxed napping under the umbrella. The image was colored with Copic markers. Using Lil' Inkers stitched rectangle die cuts for the image and the 1.5" stitched sun added to the top of the panel. I've used a layout from Paper Play Sketches challenge. All patterned papers are from The Paper Studio and I stamped the Relax sentiment using Staz On Jet Black ink. The final touch was adding three blue sequins and this card was done.

Wishing you a safe and lovely Memorial Day weekend!

Cupcake Mouse Birthday Card

It's late and National Scrapbooking Day is almost over, but I wanted to share the card I made today. In my family we have several birthdays in May, so I made this Cupcake Mouse Birthday Card. The layout is from the Paper Play Sketches challenge 007. I've used a precolored image I found at Paper Creator called Sneaky Mouse Birthday Cupcake and it was die cut using a stitched square die by Lil' Inkers. The papers were selected to coordinate with the colors in the image. To add the Birthday Wishes sentiment by Taylored Expressions I used the coordinating mini decorative label dies, tied some twine to the top and adhered with dimensionals. The final touch was adding three sequins for some sparkle. That's it! I hope you had a lovely day and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

All You Need is COFFEE Card

Hello! Inspiration to create a card comes from many different places. This All You Need is COFFEE Card was created for the Barista/Manager at my local Barnes & Noble Cafe. When I was working I stopped by several times a week on my way to work and we would visit. Then I stopped working and rarely stopped by. I was in town yesterday to run a few errands and popped in for my caffeine fix and I was happy she was working. During our visit she mentioned how she was ready for May to arrive because April had been a challenging month. So, I decided on my way home to make her a card to hopefully cheer her up.

To create this card I used the sketch from Paper Play Sketches for the layout. The digital image is called Barista Coffee Brentwood Owl by Jessica Lynn Original, it was colored with Copic markers and die cut with a stitched circle from My Favorite Things. Mr. Brentwood is obviously standing on a hill, when I cut the edge of the circle for the sketch... I didn't catch this detail (maybe I needed more coffee). For the patterned papers I used a piece of kraft with black polka dots from Core-dinations, cream crackle by The Paper Studio and two pieces of scrap paper for the banners. Using Antique Linen distress ink the edges of the papers were inked. The papers were matted to a piece of black cardstock and then stitched with cream thread using a sewing machine. For the All You Need is COFFEE sentiment I used an All You Need is Love stamp by Hampton Arts and masked the word Love and wrote in the word COFFEE. A decorative label punch was used to get the shape around the sentiment. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!
