Sunflower Perch Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share a card I made using the Sunflower Perch stamp by Stampendous!. It was a lot of fun coloring this image with Copic markers. The bird was colored to look like a House Finch, we have several that visit the feeders in our backyard. The sentiment stamp is by Jaded Blossom from the Birds of a Feather stamp set. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Sad News, New Cat and a Card

The past two weeks have been extremely hard! My best kitty friend passed away of a heart attack at home. One minute I'm feeding him treats and doing dishes, he runs off to the bedroom and then I heard a dreadful yelp. When I got to the bedroom he was unresponsive, we drove him to the emergency vet but nothing could be done, he was gone. He was my shadow and followed me around the house. At nine months old we adopted Mr. Dickens and then we found out he had a heart condition. He got all the best vet care along with yearly heart ultrasounds and bloodwork. His last visit was two months ago and everything looked good. We were hopeful we still had many more years with him, he had just turned 8 years old in July. His passing was so traumatic on us and our other cats. Now my heart is broken and my house feels so empty!💔

For a long time I've felt a tug to help senior cats. The passing of Mr. Dickens sent me on a search for a senior cat to help. I found an 18 year old female cat that was at the shelter because her owner went into a memory care facility. I put in my application to adopt her, but she was adopted by a lady who specializes in helping senior cats. I was just thrilled she was no longer in the shelter! While I was at the shelter the staff recommended an 11 year old male that was surrendered by his family because they wanted a kitten (don't get me started on how mad this makes me). When I picked him up he immediately rubbed my face with his head. He is such a sweetie, but the poor guy smelt like a litter box! He didn't deserve to be in the shelter, so my hubby and I agreed we needed to help him. His name is Tommy and since his adoption he has been very sick. He has been home a couple of times but has spent 6 days at the veterinarian. Cats do not like change and all the stress gave him an awful upper respiratory infection. He is doing better and hopefully he will be fully recovered soon. My heart is still broken and will be for a long time, but it now has another purpose of helping Tommy get better. I may have jumped into helping another cat a little too soon after losing Mr. Dickens, but for Tommy we came along at the purr-fect time.

Now onto the card I made for our veterinarians to thank them for taking care of Tommy. It features stamps from the Newton's Sick Day stamp set by Newton's Nook and the images were colored with Copic markers. The patterned papers are from the It's A Party paper pad by Pink & Main. The design is simple and one I use a lot for quick cards. Well, that's it. I appreciate you stopping by and I hope you have a great day.

First Bloom Card - TMS #620

Good day! It's Tuesday again and the start of a new sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks sketch is designed by Melissa Craig and the design team created some fabulous inspiration to share with you. Click HERE for all the inspiration and challenge details. Just remember to link your creation by 8 pm EST on Sunday. 😊

The image I decided to use was purchased several years ago, but I had never inked it up. It's called First Bloom Window by Art Impressions. Copic markers were used to color the image and then I selected my papers to coordinate. Since the image has a sentiment I added a row of flowers where the sentiment was indicated. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Posies Card - TMS #619

Hello! Can you believe it's the middle of August already? The days just keep flying by. It's nice to have a few consistent events to look forward too and making my card for Tuesday Morning Sketches is one of them. I hope you look forward to Tuesday! When I first saw this weeks sketch designed by Melissa Craig I immediately thought about the Picked Posies stamp set by Taylored Expressions. It's one of my newer purchases, so I was a little eager to ink it up. The design team has provided some wonderful inspiration. Chickadee Card - TMS #618

Hello! This week the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches is super simple and perfect for a quick card. When I started making this Chickadee Card I knew I wanted to use the stitched peek-a-boo window die by My Favorite Things. The Chickadee image had already been colored and I liked the way it looked over the window (from the Spring Birds stamp set by Simon Says Stamp). After going through several sentiments I decided to use the One Day at a Time by Verve Stamps and that's it. We would love for you to join us this week. Pumpkin Night Card

Good day! Halloween is only 88 days away. Still plenty of time to make Halloween Cards. Since I tend to procrastinate, I'm starting early this year. I usually make about a dozen cards to send to family and friends. Maybe I'll send a few more cards this year and spread a little more Halloween happiness. 🎃

This Pumpkin Night Card features an image by Stampendous! called Pumpkin Night and it was colored with Copic markers. The Happy Halloween sentiment is from a retired stamp set by Stampin' Up! called Spooky Sweets. Glossy accents were added to all the eyes and clear Wink of Stella was used on the stars. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.
