Simple Thank You Card - TMS #497

Happy Tuesday! This weeks challenge sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches is perfect for a simple easy card. Although it could certainly be used for a more elaborate design. I took the simple approach and used a piece of patterned paper from the Pretty Things paper pad by MME. The butterfly is from my bin of "extras" that I stamped many years ago and I stamped the Thank You sentiment from the Petal Palette stamp set by Stampin' Up!. That's it, a Simple Thank You Card. We would love for you to join us this week! Click here for all the challenge details and design team inspiration. You have until 8 pm EST on Sunday to link your creation. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Butterfly Thank You Card

Hope all is well in your world! This week I was busy making a special order of baby boy burp cloths. I had all my sewing supplies put away since my surgery last August, so it was a chore to set everything up. Now that everything is out I need to make baby girl burp cloths for a gift. They really are fun to make and are great baby shower gifts!

Now onto this Butterfly Thank You Card... I made this card for my neighbor who orders Stampin' Up! supplies from me. When I delivered her latest order I included this card. All supplies are current and by Stampin' Up!. Supplies include: Thick Whisper White cardstock, Shaded Spruce cardstock, Soft Sea Foam cardstock, Garden Impressions designer series paper, Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends markers, Memento black ink, Butterfly stamp from Beautiful Day stamp set and Thank You sentiment from the Abstract Impressions stamp set. That's it, thanks for stopping by!

Blue Butterfly Thank You Card

Wow! It's been a very long time since I've had two posts in one day. I'm definitely neglecting my household chores, but oh well!!! This Blue Butterfly Thank You Card was made for one of my neighbors who organized an outdoor activity for our neighborhood this coming weekend.

To make this card I decided to use a couple of Stampin' Up! supplies that I've had unused in my stash for awhile. I seem to buy supplies faster than I use them. The butterfly is from the Beautiful Day stamp set and was colored with Night of Navy Stampin' Blends. For the background the Marbled stamp was used with Poppy Parade ink. A strip of white cardstock was embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder and then the Thank You sentiment from the Abstract Impressions stamp set was heat embossed on black cardstock with white embossing powder. The completed panel was matted to Night of Navy cardstock and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Kitty Thank You Card

Thanks for stopping by today! I have a quick post to share this Kitty Thank You Card I made for one of our neighbors who gave us a donation to the Rescued Kitten Medical Fund. For the story click HERE. The Really... Kitty? stamp is from Unity Stamps and I used a Catch the Bug Sketch for the layout. To select the colors I used the challenge at Color Throwdown to use: Red, Gray and Black. It's a simple card but I'm happy with how it turned out. Wishing you a wonderful day!

Cute Kitty Thank You Card

Howdy friends! We had to take one of our kitties to the vet today because he is having some urinary issues. He is still there until he decides to give them a sample. It would be wonderful if he could understand the idea if you go... then you get to go home. I made this Cute Kitty Thank You Card to give the veterinary staff when I pick him up.

To make this card I used the sketch from the Stella Says Sketch challenge #504. The image is called Cute Kitty by Bugaboo Stamps and it was colored with Copic markers. Trying to match the image mat on the sketch I cut the blue mat with my Cricut machine, then a small shadow circle was cut in green to layer under the colored image. All patterned papers are from my scrap bin and the Thank You sentiment is from Momenta. To finish the card I added a yellow embossed butterfly and three green sequins. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Raccoon Rascals Kindness Card

Sometimes a project keeps getting pushed because of other priorities and this Raccoon Rascals Kindness Card is one of them. There is wildlife rescue and rehabilitation here in Oklahoma called Wild Heart Ranch and I follow them on Facebook. They do a wonderful job sharing their animal experiences and videos with their followers. Their work is inspiring and at times heart breaking! They recently rescued a raccoon from the side of the road and it had a broken jaw. The pictures were painful to look at and my heart hurt for the little raccoon. That's when I knew I needed to send them a card using the Raccoon Rascals stamp set from Newton's Nook.

To create this card I started with a piece of watercolor paper and sprayed some Mister Huey's color mists along with Tattered Angels glimmer mist. The sky was darkened with Broken China distress ink. Once dry the tree from the Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree stamp set was stamped using Memento black ink. Then the sentiment from the Thoughtful Branches stamp set by Stampin' Up! was heat embossed with white embossing powder. The image was colored with copic markers, fussy cut and adhered with dimensionals. A scalloped frame by Taylored Expressions was added along with a few punched stars. That's it!

Copper Embossed Leaf Card

This time of year I'm ready for Fall to arrive! The colors on my craft desk turn to comforting warm hues and I anxiously await the cooler weather to arrive. Fall/Autumn is still a few weeks away but it's officially arrived in my craft room.

For this card I started by playing around with a Very Vanilla piece of cardstock and sponging on ink colors: Cajun Craze, Delightful Dijon and Pumpkin Pie. Then I used VersaMark ink with a leaf stamp from the Vintage Leaves stamp set and heat embossed with copper embossing powder. The coordinating Leaflets Framelit Dies were used with the Big Shot to cut the leaf shape. Next a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock was embossed using the Brick Wall embossing folder. The edges of the embossed panel and the patterned paper from the Serene Scenery paper stack was inked with Antique Linen distress ink by Tim Holtz. Some ink was added to the bricks and the Many Thanks sentiment from the retired Another Thank You stamp set was stamped directly onto the panel with Soft Suede ink . The panel was matted to a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and one edge was die cut using a stitched scalloped die by My Favorite Things. The panel was then adhered to the patterned paper and then matted to a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock. Before adhering the layers to the card base, some linen thread was wrapped around three times and secured to the back with tape. Then everything was adhered to the card base. The final touch was adding three brown sequins and that's it! Unless noted the supplies are by Stampin' Up!.

Military Brentwood Owl Cards

Happy Saturday! Today is the launch of a new stamp set at Jessica Lynn Originals called Military Brentwood Owl. The full set will be launched live tonight at 8 p.m. (central time) on the Jessica Lynn Original Facebook page. You will definitely want to join in the fun!!! There will be a giveaway, coupon codes for free digital images and shipping along with a scavenger hunt. During the live event we will be making a card with the new Military Brentwood Owl stamp set. This is going to be a fun event and I hope you will join us.

To create my cards I decided I wanted to use papers that would be widely available to everyone, so I went to my local Hobby Lobby store and found papers in the open stock section. Once the images were stamped I colored them with Copic markers and then die cut them with stitched dies. The embellishments were kept to a minimum just the way I like it and these cards were done.

Colorful Thank You Card

Hello! Today I was in the mood to make something bright and cheerful. Recently I received some colorful Bo Bunny paper from the Believe collection in a card kit and I thought it would make a fun Thank You card. The layout is from Mojo Monday, sketch #451. There is plenty of space to let the paper take center stage. The Watercolor Thank You stamp by Stampin' Up! was used and I heat embossed it with black embossing powder. I used the pink portion of the paper that had been trimmed for the banner detail and stamped it with polka dots using Melon Mambo ink. Three larger sequins were used for some sparkle and that's it! A pretty simple but colorful thank you card.

Feminine Patriotic Card

It's a little past my bedtime but I slept in on Memorial Day and now I can't go to sleep. This doesn't happen very often but I'm sure the mid-day espresso beverage didn't help my dilemma. Since I couldn't sleep I decided to make a card using this weeks Mojo Monday sketch. It's Tall & Skinny week and I do love making this size of card. The finished size of this Feminine Patriotic Card is 3.5" x 6". This card was made with a female soldier in mind as the recipient.

The patterned paper on this card is from the American Beautiful collection by Pebbles and it coordinated nicely with Marina Mist cardstock by Stampin' Up!. Using Spellbinders Die D-Lites called Bloom One the flower was die cut, layered and anchored together with a blue polka dot brad. Three die cut green leaves from my stash of extras were added around the flower. The You have Made a Difference sentiment by Hampton Art was stamped using Night of Navy ink and the final touch was some denim colored twine from The Twinery. That's it!

Bright Green Thank You Card

It's time to send Thank You Cards for all the Christmas gifts received. For this Bright Green Thank You Card I heat embossed the sentiment (Another Thank You by Stampin' Up!) onto watercolor paper and then used Gelatos to add color. The letter "k" came out a little wonky but it works. To add some shimmer the entire card was sprayed with Vanilla Shimmer Mist and three green sequins were adhered. That's it!

There is nothing fancy about this card but it's fun and it was easy to make. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Chipmunk Thank You Card

Happy Tuesday! As we approach Thanksgiving here in the United States it makes for a good time to remember those things we are thankful for in our lives. With that in mind, the challenge this week at Tuesday Throwdown is a Thank You theme.  We are sponsored by Deedee's Digis and I had a lot of fun using the chipmunk image from the Fall Warm-up image set. Isn't he darling?

I used the pre-colored image and die cut the rectangle using a Lil' Inkers stitched rectangle die. The colors in the image went really well with the new Fall Blessings patterned paper by Carta Bella. For the layout I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday. The Thank You sentiment is from the retired Itty Bitty Banners stamp set by Stampin' Up! For the final touch I added three ivory sequins along with brown rhinestones placed in the center. That's it!

We would love for you to share your Thank You creation with us this week at Tuesday Throwdown. For more inspiration from the design team and all the challenge details click here. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Casual Fall Thank You Card

Happy Sunday! I hope you're having a relaxing weekend and I'm also hoping you will have time to make a card for this weeks challenge at The Paper Players. The amazing Ann has a wonderful Clean-and-Simple Thank You challenge for us this week. To start my card I chose the colors from the Pals Paper Arts Challenge to use Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie. Then I remembered a layout from a previous card I made. It was from 2012 and featured an emboss resist leaf that I really wanted to duplicate using the PPA colors. I retrieved the retired French Foliage stamp set and went to work. The Crushed Curry background paper is from the Color Me Autumn dsp and to change up the design a bit, I added three Candy Dots and used the Itty Bitty Banners Thank You sentiment. Finally, I've kept a Clean-and-Simple challenge, well... clean-and simple.

Click here to check out the designs from the rest of The Paper Players. We would love to see your card in the gallery! You have until Friday, November 21st at NOON (PST) to link up your creation. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Handy Birdie Easel Card

Drum roll, please!!! I've been making cards since 2011, but this is my first easel card. I don't know why I waited so long to make one. Probably because I was afraid to try something new. However, this week at Cardz 4 Guyz the theme is Easel Cards. So, afraid or not I had to give it a try. To get started I watched a video on YouTube (click here). The design is simple and basic which worked great as a beginner. I started with a bright green cardstock and made my score lines. The colored Handy Birdie image, screwdriver paper and sentiment are from Doodle Pantry. I cut and layered all pieces and assembled this Handy Birdie Easel Card. We would love for you to join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Will this challenge be your first easel card? If it is, let me know.

Circles Thank You Card

Good afternoon! I have a quick post to share my newest card. This Circles Thank You Card was made using the colours from the current challenge at ColourQ. The only problem was I didn't have stamp pads that even closely resembled Concord Grape or Pretty in Pink. For that reason I decided to play with patterned paper. The layout comes from the sketch challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday.  I ended up with what I think is a fun card and the only thing stamped was the sentiment. All patterned paper and Sassy Salutations Thank You sentiment is from Stampin' Up!. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

A Kitty Story and a Card

This morning my spunky nine month kitty Taz decided he didn't want me to be asleep. It was about 4:50 am and he starts making all kinds of noise by my bed. Knowing it probably wouldn't make a difference I get up and give him some food. That bought me 30 minutes until he was doing the same thing again. I gave up and made my morning coffee and an hour later I'm wide awake and he is asleep on his favorite ottoman.

After taking care of a couple of chores and fixing the hubby some breakfast I made my way into my craft room. There wasn't a lot of creative juices flowing at this time of day so I used the layout from the card I finished last night and changed it up. This Simple Banner Thank You Card features patterned paper from the Quilting Bee 6 x 6 paper pad by My Mind's Eye. The cardstock colors are Soft Suede, Very Vanilla and Daffodil Delight by Stampin' Up! I decided to do a little sponging on the edges and added Antique Linen Distress Ink by Tim Holtz/Ranger. Having a good time adding the distress ink I also added it to the twine so the white wasn't as bright. The Thank You stamp is by Stampabilities and the ink is Soft Suede by Stampin' Up!

I'm entering this card in the Thankful Thursday Challenge, "Thank You" #136 at DL.Art. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Patriotic Thank You Card

Today is Memorial Day here in America and the holiday stirs my feelings of thankfulness to all the men and women who have served our country through the years.  The sacrifice the many individuals and families make to ensure we live free continues to impress and amaze me. A heartfelt Patriotic Thank You to those serving in the past and present. This thank you card was made with you in mind.

The layout comes from the sketch challenge at The Paper Players. For the patterned papers I used All American Type and Blue Jean La Fleur by Doodlebug Design Inc. The sentiment is from the Another Thank You stamp set by Stampin' Up! and I used three red glitter and rhinestone stars I found at Hobby Lobby.

It's a Thank You Card

It seems I have used several thank you cards lately and my stash was getting low. I like to keep several thank you cards to choose from because I never know what occasion I will need one for. This Thank You Card was created using the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. The patterned paper is a sneak peek of the new Moonlight paper stack (133701) that will be coming out in the new Stampin' Up! catalog on June 1st. You are also seeing two new colors: Hello Honey and Lost Lagoon. The stamps used on the flowers are from the Petite Petals stamp set by Stampin' Up! and the sentiment stamp is by Stampabilities. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Kitty Cat Thank You Card

It's celebration time!!! I've reached 100 followers and that makes me very happy. In fact, I'm so happy that if you're one of my followers and you leave me a comment on this post I'm going to randomly give away a prize. The prize is a surprise but I think that makes it fun.

Okay, onto my card. This Kitty Cat Thank You Card was made for the vets and staff at Feline Specialties in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They really helped us with my late crafting buddy and I wanted to show our appreciation. It's been four weeks and I've tried several times to color this kitty image but every time my eyes would well with tears and I just couldn't do it, until today. One small step in the healing process. Well, I really appreciate you stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Layered Snowflakes Thank You Card

It's time to write my thank you cards for all the lovely presents I received at Christmas. This Layered Snowflakes Thank You Card was made for my brother and sister-in-law. They bought me several punches for Christmas and I used one of them to create the small Island Indigo snowflakes in the center of the layers. I used my Big Shot to die-cut the larger snowflakes. The base snowflake is a die-cut by Sizzix (656731) and the silver glitter center portion is a retired die-cut from Stampin' Up! All the papers and thank you sentiment stamp are by Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.
