Unicorn Celebrate Card - TMS #486

Happy Tuesday! During the next few weeks at Tuesday Morning Sketches we will be featuring our favorite sketches from 2018 and we are starting this week with my favorite. I chose sketch #446 because I love layers and angled panels and this sketch combines both beautifully. Click HERE for the original post. We definitely hope you will be inspired to play along this week. For all the challenge details and design team inspiration click HERE. I hope to see your creation in the link-up gallery!

To make this Unicorn Celebrate Card I started by selecting papers from the Dear Lizzy Stay Colorful paper pad by American Crafts (2017). The papers were cut to follow the sketch and matted to a purplish blue cardstock. Using Copic markers the unicorn image by Bugaboo Stamps was colored using coordinating colors. Then the image was die cut with a cross stitched oval by My Favorite Things and matted to a piece of Soft Sky cardstock that was cut slightly larger using a pair of deckle scissors by Fiskars. The finishing touches were the addition of three sequins and the celebrate sentiment. That's it! I'm so glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Star Celebrate Card

Happy 4th of July! This holiday is always low key for us. We usually stay home and make sure the cats don't get too scared from all the neighborhood fireworks. Our oldest cat is thirteen and she gets calming treats, the loud noises really bother her. The youngsters are a little more resilient, but they all hide until the quiet night returns. So, if you're out having some fun... have a little extra fun for me!

This Star Celebrate Card is pretty simple. The layout is cased from one of my cards from February 2014. It's easy to duplicate and I really like the star focal point. The star was cut with my Cricut machine using the George and Basic Shapes cartridge. All patterned paper is from the Patriotic Parade paper pad by Doodlebug Design Inc. A strip of silver glimmer paper was used for some sparkle and the celebrate sentiment is retired by Stampin' Up!. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Cupcake Celebrate Card

Hello crafty friends and happy Tuesday! It's time to start another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown and this week the theme is Party Time (something to celebrate). It seems I'm always low on birthday cards, so I used the Kittys Cupcake Tower Colored image from our sponsor Di's Digi Stamps to create this Cupcake Celebrate Card. As always, we would love for you to join the challenge this week. You can find all the details and design team inspiration HERE.

This Cupcake Celebrate Card is an A6 sized card 4 1/2 x 6 1/4. When I first started making cards this was the size I made. Then I noticed most people made A2 sized cards and I changed but every once in awhile I make the larger size.

Cupcake Celebrate Card Supplies:
  • Paper: Cupcake and pink polka dots by The Paper Studio, Melon Mambo Cardstock by Stampin' Up!.
  • Stamps: Kittys Cupcake Tower Colored by Di's Digi Stamps and Time to Celebrate sentiment by Stampin' Up!.
  • Ink: Memento black
  • Other Stuff: Big Shot, Avery Elle scalloped oval frame, Itty Bitty Banner punch and Washi Banner punch both retired by Stampin' Up! and pink sequins.

Celebrate Cupcake Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share this Celebrate Cupcake Card. It's a tall and skinny card with dimensions of 3.5" x 6". I used the Mojo Monday sketch for the design and you're getting a sneak peek at new patterned papers from Stampin' Up! called Cherry On Top. There are two new colors used on the card, Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush along with Pool Party, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Whisper White. The cupcake stamp is by Hampton Arts and it fit perfectly in the 2" punched circle. I added the celebrate sentiment from the Good Greetings set by Stampin' Up! and the final touch was three sequins from Close to My Heart with rhinestones added to the center. That's it!

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:

Vintage Circus Monkey Card

Hello crafting friends! The last couple of weeks has been crazy around my house, but the holidays are over and normal is somewhere in the near future. Hopefully, I can get back to making several cards each week. This Vintage Circus Monkey Card was created for the new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz. We would love to see your masculine card with a vintage flair this week. Unfortunately, my stash doesn't include a lot of vintage materials but I do have several vintage playing cards. Last year at a local antique show I purchased several cute single cards to use on my handmade cards. I think they look adorable repurposed this way. Plus, by using a repurposed item I'm going to play along with my friends at The Paper Players this week.  To make the papers look a little more distressed, I crumpled the brown harlequin paper and used Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink around the edges and over the crumpled places. I used Antique Linen distress ink on the Tempting Turquoise polka dots paper, slightly crumpled it and then added Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink to the edges. The sentiment is from TPC Studios and I used my oval and scallop oval punches. I really wanted to add some brads or something else but everything I tried was too modern, so I went with jute twine to add more texture and detail. That's it!

Looking for more vintage inspiration? The design team did a fantastic job this week and really created some fun cards. Click here to visit the Cardz 4 Guyz challenge blog. I hope to see your creation in the gallery! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Star-Spangled Celebrate Card

It's been a long time since I've sang the Star-Spangled Banner. We used to sing it in grade school, a very long time ago.  Do you remember the lyrics???

Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

We are approaching the Fourth of July here in the United States and the inspiration for my card today was our flag. This Star-Spangled Celebrate Card has some broad stripes and bright silver stars to ignite your patriotic spirit. The stars were cut with the Cricut machine and I added some stitching for detail. The colors are Pacific Point and Whisper White from Stampin' Up! and the red stripe paper is by Recollections. The celebrate sentiment is from the TPC Studios greetings stamp set and I punched it out using my oval punches from Stampin' Up!. The final touch was a few rhinestones for some bling around the sentiment. Thanks for stopping by and have a terrific day!
