Gingham Flower Mother's Day Card

Good day crafty friends! This morning I was up pretty early for me and I decided to remake a Mother's Day card design I originally created in May of 2012. Click here for the original post. For this Gingham Flower Mother's Day Card I used completely different colors and added a butterfly but otherwise kept everything else the same. I love seeing the same card with different colors, it really does change the look. This one is definitely bright and cheerful.

Gingham Flower Mother's Day Card Supplies: Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight cardstock from Stampin' Up!, retired Gingham Garden dsp from Stampin' Up!, Fiskars Three Petals corner punch, Blossom punch by Stampin' Up!, Cricut machine, 1" circle punch, 7/8" scallop circle punch, corner rounder, Honeydew twine from The Twinery, Papillon Potpourri stamp set and Bitty Butterfly punch by Stampin' Up!, Mother's Day sentiment stamp by Paper Inspirations, Classic Stampin' Pad in Island Indigo and Crushed Curry, Basic Pearls, Night of Navy Candy Dot and Stampin' Dimensionals.

Mother's Day Card with Lace

Happy Tuesday! It's time for a new challenge at Tuesday Throwdown and this week we want you to add lace to your project. Our lovely sponsor is Ribbon Resource and they generously provided the design team with the lace used on our creations. I've used a beautiful 1" white lace that was really easy to work with and perfect for all kinds of projects. We would love to see your creations with lace this week! You have until mid-day on Monday April 4th to link your creation. Click here to check out the wonderful inspiration from the design team and for all the challenge details.

The patterned paper on this card is one of my new favorites by Bo Bunny called Secret Garden. I paired it with Rich Razzleberry cardstock from Stampin' Up! along with the retired Brocade embossing folder for the white embossed area. The green leaves were die cut using Sour Apple Bazzill cardstock and the paper flowers and polka dot brad are from The Paper Studio. Using the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set by Stampin' Up! the Mother's Day sentiment was stamped using Blackberry Bliss ink. That sums it up. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Hello Sweet Friend Card

Hello stamping friends! It's time again for another challenge at The Paper Players. This week the lovely LeAnne is hostess for a wonderful sketch challenge. The sketch is really versatile. I can't wait to see how you use it! To play along at Crazy 4 Challenges I've used a Hello sentiment from the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set.

As you can see, I went with a non-holiday card. The black and white was accented with Bermuda Bay and Real Red. When I make cards I don't plan everything out first, I create as I go. However, by doing it this way there is always something I wish I did differently. The polka dot panel needed to be a little narrower to bring the flower up. There needed to be more space between the flower and sentiment area. Other than that, I like the way it turned out. Do you plan out your card or create as you go?

We would love for you to join us this week! Click here for more inspiration from The Paper Players design team. You have until NOON (PST) on Friday, November 28th to link your creations. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Here's the sketch:

Hello Sweet Friend Card Supplies:
  • Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Bermuda Bay and Real Red cardstock, patterned paper from the Back to Black dsp and polka dots by Recollections.
  • Stamps: Flower from Beautiful Bunch set and sentiment from Six-Sided Sampler set.
  • Inks & Coloring: Memento black ink, VersaMark and Zing Red Glitter embossing powder.
  • Other Stuff: Finishing Touches edgelit, oval punch, scalloped oval punch, red button, Bermuda Bay twine, black glitter brad and stampin' dimensionals.

Simple Things Card

It's hard to believe that September first is here. I really don't know where August went. Nothing eventful happened and our weather here in Oklahoma was decent compared to the awful July we had. Moving onward and getting closer to the holidays, I guess it's time to start Christmas shopping! There is 114 shopping days left, just in case you wanted to know. My motto this year is to keep things simple.

Okay, enough of my rambling..... onto the card. This Simple Things Card was made using this weeks Freshly Made Sketch by Lesly Croghan. I really love the classic simplicity of this sketch. I know I will be using it again.

Simple Things Card Supplies:
  • Paper: Very vanilla cardstock by Stampin' Up!, designer paper pad by My Mind's Eye (So Sophie Graceful, #SSG6X6), and Latte matstack by DCWV (MS-003-00039).
  • Stamps: Time to Enjoy stamp by Hero Arts (F1843).
  • Inks: Smokey Plum by Close to my Heart.

Made a Difference Card

If everyone would send one card to someone who has made a difference in their life, we could possibly save the postal service from financial difficulties.  Sometimes it's the small things people do for us that we want to recognize and a thank you card doesn't always do the trick.  I think that's why I love this wonderful sentiment so much.  This made a difference card was made using the colors from the CR84FN color challenge.  So,don't delay put a card in the mail today!

Made a Difference Card Supplies: White cardstock, patterened paper by K & Company (Jubilee designer mat pad, 30-388826), patterned paper by Bo Bunny (Little Miss Jamayka, 12LMJ620), Bazzill Basics cardstock (Rope Swing Dotted Swiss, 8-820), eyelet border punch by Stampin' Up!, Cricut machine, Cricut cartridge (George and Basic shapes, used to cut 2 1/2" circle), sentiment stamp by Hampton Art (Made a Difference, PS0126), classic stampin' pad in Crumb Cake by Stampin' Up!, Spare Parts paper flower brad by The Paper Studio, and stampin' dimensionals.

Best Wishes Card

I learned a valuable lesson last night.  Don't read the CAS-ual Friday challenge and then try to go to sleep.  I was so excited about this weeks bling challenge all I could do was picture colour schemes in my head.  The colour scheme selected was the classic black, pink, and white.  Although I'm not a pink fan, I have to admit that these colours are striking when used together.  Now, all I need is a good occasion to give this best wishes card away.

Best Wishes Card Supplies:  Recollections black folded card, pink cardstock, white cardstock, patterned glitter paper by Making Memories (black swirl shimmer, item# 36979), Fiskars decorative corner punch (scroll, 01-005487), Spare Parts paper flower brad by The Paper Studio, EK Success punch (real estate sign, 54-30033), Hampton Art rubber stamp (best wishes, PS0272), and ColorBox chalk ink in blackbird by Clearsnap.

Thanks So Much Card

Card designs can be simple but still full of bling and pizazz.  The Thanks So Much card design turns an ordinary tag into a burst of floral thankfulness.  I'm not a fan of pink but the majority of my customers love it so I try to remember to cater to what the recipient likes.  Although when I make this card again I will use a teal cardstock for the sentiment.

Thanks So Much Card Directions:
  1. Make card from cardstock or use ready made card.  Finished size: 4" x 5.5"
  2. Trim patterned paper and adhere.
  3. Cut flower design, tag, and sentiment with Cricut machine.
  4. Ink edges of flower design and adhere.
  5. Ink edges of tag, send sentiment through the Xyron create-a-sticker, and adhere.
  6. Tie ribbon onto tag, layer flower and rhinestone brad and attach to tag, adhere tag with sticky-doos or foam tape and adhere rhinestones.
