One in a Melon Card

Hello! I hope you're having a wonderful week. Our weather is cooler which has been nice but it's still summer. This time of year you can find watermelon abundantly in the markets. It's a great summer treat to help cool off. I recently purchased the Newton's Melon stamp and was inspired to make this One in a Melon Card as a thank you card. Copic markers were used to color the image and the coordinating die to cut it out. It was paired with some fun patterned papers from my stash. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and three sequins added for some sparkle. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Penguin Watermelon Card

Thanks for stopping by to check out this Penguin Watermelon Card. Watermelon is a loved summer treat here in Oklahoma. My grandparents used to grow them in their garden and sell them in their farm stand. I have many fond memories of summer that involves watermelons. I guess that's why I love this penguin digital image from Whimsy Stamps designed by Crissy Armstrong. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut with a stitched square die. The sentiment says "Today calls for something sweet" and it's from the retired More Than Words stamp set by Stampin' Up!. All patterned papers are from the Summer Lovin' paper pad by Carta Bella (2014) and that's it. Wishing you a happy and crafty day!

Sweet Things Koala Card

Good day crafty friends! This morning I was feeling a little fruity and this cute Koala stamp by Newton's Nook caught my eye. So, I decided to use the Inky Paws current sketch challenge to make this Sweet Things Koala Card. The image was stamped with Memento black ink and colored with Copic markers, then it was die cut with the coordinating die. The pineapple paper is from the Summer Fun paper pad and it was paired with a piece of green chevron paper from the Soak Up the Sun paper pad both by Echo Park. A little black and white gingham is peeking out and it's by The Paper Studio. The sentiment is by Impression Obsession and the yellow and white twine was the finishing touch. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Watermelon Bear Card

Hello and happy Tuesday! This cute little Watermelon Bear image is a freebie from Gerda Steiner Designs and I've had him printed for awhile. Finally today the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches inspired me to color him and make this Watermelon Bear Card. Since watermelon is a sweet summer treat it also fits well with The Paper Girls challenge for Sweet Summer Treats. The image was colored with Copic markers and die cut with a cross stitched oval die by My Favorite Things. Most the patterned paper is from the Summer Lovin' paper pad by Carta Bella (2014) with the exception of the green stripe which came from the scrap bin. The sentiment is where I did a slight deviation from the sketch. Since it has a round design I just decided to skip adding the twine and added the sentiment.  That's it! Thanks for stopping by.

Pear Doodle Card

Hello! I hope you're having a wonderful day. It's time for the start of another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown and this week the theme is Doodles. I thought this was a fun theme and one that I'm interested to see how you interpret. Our wonderful sponsor is CraftyGirl and I'm using her Pear Doodle digital stamp. For all the challenge details and design team inspiration click HERE. I hope you will play along!

My vision is not as good as it used to be, so I made this image larger than usual. Since the design is intricate I decided to open my art box from college and use my Prismacolor pencils (sadly they've had little use since college 20 years ago). Once all the pencils were sharpened I started coloring. The image was die cut with a cross stitched oval by My Favorite Things and then to give it a framed look it was matted to a brown scalloped oval cut from an Avery Elle die cut. All patterned paper is from my scrap pile, I'm determined to use it when I remember. The You're Amazing sentiment is from the Watercolor Wishes stamp set by Stampin' Up!. To accent the sentiment two punched banners were added along with two green sequins. The last detail was the addition of the bitty butterfly with pearls. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Have a Cherry Day Card

Well, yesterday was a whirlwind of various classes at the CKC Scrapbook Convention in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This was the first time for me to attend the convention. I took several classes and did a little shopping. Here is the Have a Cherry Day Card I made during the Artful Card Creations class. We used a Hot Off the Press kit to create this card, which I never do, but it is a quick way to make multiple cards. I love the colors and the class was a lot of fun.
