Newton Harvest Blessings Card

It's nice to take a break from summer colors and make a fall inspired card. This Newton Harvest Blessings Card was inspired by a former color challenge at Inky Paws from September 2014. This challenge was  before I found Newton's Nook stamps, so I wanted my chance to play along. I really fell in love with the inspiration photo and had to use it as my copy cat entry for the color challenge. The stamp set used is called Autumn Newton and the images were stamped with Memento black ink and colored with Copic markers. Then the images were die cut with the coordinating dies. For the background I did some ink smooshing with Peeled Paint and Tumbled Glass distress inks. The plaid paper is by Lawn Fawn and was die cut with the Newton's Nook Frames & Flags die set. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Simple Grateful Heart Card

It's hard to believe next week is Thanksgiving! Over the next couple of days I'll be playing catch up on making my cards so I can get them in the mail on time. Needless to say when I'm pinched for time I love to utilize my patterned papers. This Simple Grateful Heart Card features patterned papers by Simple Stories from the Pumpkin Spice collection (2015) and a sentiment by Stampin' Up! from the Falling for Leaves stamp set. I've had the sentiment stamped for awhile and it was just waiting to be used. The papers were cut with the intent of using the opposite sides and I was going to use a sketch, but I turned them over, started playing around and this is how it turned out. It's simple, it's easy and it's flat for easy shipping. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Bountiful Owl Cards

This year I didn't make as many Thanksgiving cards as usual. It seems crafty mojo and time were both issues. Last night I realized just how few cards I had, so I quickly made these two Bountiful Owl Cards to get in the mail this morning. The image is one I recently bought from Unity Stamps called Bountiful Owl and it was colored with Copic markers. The stamp set comes with thirteen different sentiments to choose from. With time being a factor I went with simple layouts and paper scraps from the Woodland Forest paper pad by Pebbles. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Give Thanks Card with Edward Fall Pumpkins

Hello and happy last day of November! To finish off this month I've made one more Give Thanks Card using the photo inspiration at the Catch The Bug Challenge. The image on this card is by Bugaboo and it's called Edward Fall Pumpkins. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut using a stitched circle die by My Favorite Things. I played with some neglected corner punches and a leaf border punch by Fiskars. The Give Thanks sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder. Both plaid papers are from my scrap bin. The brown is by Lawn Fawn and the orange is from DCWV. Three sequins finished off this card and that's it. I'm glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wishing all my crafty friends living in the United States a Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you are blessed with yummy food and the company of family and friends today. My hubby counts down the days until he gets to enjoy his mother's homemade turkey dumplings. I have a hard time picking a favorite, but it's probably the sweet potatoes... although I never pass up a good apple pie! I would love to hear your favorite dish, just leave a comment.

Last week I posted a card using this same image and layout (scroll down or click here) but with different colors. One thing I love to do is change the colors to see the difference. In total I made five of these cards to send to family and friends but they were all different patterned papers and colors. The image is called Pumpkin Bouquet by Taylored Expressions and it was die cut using the coordinating die. It was then layered onto a die cut pierced oval and scalloped frame from Avery Elle. Cardstock colors include: Cajun Craze, Soft Suede and Whisper White by Stampin' Up!. The green patterned paper is from The Paper Studio along with a retired strip of Cajun Craze dsp in the center. Copic markers were used to color the image and the sentiment was stamped with Early Espresso ink. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Simple Thanksgiving Cards

My Thanksgiving cards are in the mail!!! To get them done in time I made some Simple Thanksgiving Cards using a pre-colored digital image by Deedee's Digis (no longer in business) and various patterned papers. When I run short on time using pre-colored images really speeds things along. Matching patterned papers was the most time consuming part when making these cards but I didn't dig deep and used many patterns from my scrap bin. All layouts are simple and most don't have embellishments. I played around with sequins but didn't like how they looked. The Many Blessings sentiment by Taylored Expressions was heat embossed with white embossing powder. The image was die cut with a stitched circle die by My Favorite Things and a pair of deckle scissors by Fiskar's was used to cut the matting circle. That pretty much sums up these Simple Thanksgiving Cards!

Many Blessings Card

Happy Tuesday! The last two weeks I was busy sewing and now I find myself behind on making Thanksgiving cards. That is my goal this week... to get as many Thanksgiving cards made as possible. This Many Blessings Card was made using stamps by Taylored Expressions called Pumpkin Bouquet. The image was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with the coordinating Pumpkin Bouquet die. It was then layered onto a die cut pierced oval and scalloped frame from Avery Elle. The damask paper is from the Fall Is In The Air paper pad by Echo Park with a strip of scrap paper down the middle. Since the image is so pretty, I decided not to add any embellishments and just left it simple. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Thankful Autumn Birdies Card

Hello! This week I've been working on my Thanksgiving cards. I usually create a couple of different designs and make multiples of each to mail to family and friends. This Thankful Autumn Birdies Card is one of the designs. I love the cheerful image by Doodle Pantry!!! The image comes with a pre-colored version which makes creating multiples really easy. Each card will be a little unique because I will change the patterned papers used. The plaid paper on this card is from the Pumpkin Spice paper stack by Simple Stories and the green background paper is from my scrap bin and retired by Stampin' Up!. The cardstock colors include: Old Olive, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso. A couple of olive glitter brads were used to anchor the focal image on either side. The Thankful sentiment is from the Acorny Thank You by Stampin' Up! and was stamped using Delightful Dijon ink. That's it!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Handmade Give Thanks Card

Hello and happy Labor Day! I hope you're lucky enough to have the day off to rest, relax and CRAFT. My hubby took a couple additional days of vacation so we've had a long weekend together and it's been nice. We didn't make any plans and have taken it one day at a time. Sometimes it's nice to just do nothing!

On Thursday I saw the color challenge at Pals Paper Arts to use: Delightful Dijon, Old Olive and Cajun Craze. These colors are perfect for a Thanksgiving card, so I made this Handmade Give Thanks Card. I've used a mix of new, current and retired supplies by Stampin' Up! along with a circle stitched die by My Favorite Things.

Handmade Give Thanks Card Supplies:
  • Paper: Delightful Dijon, Old Olive, Cajun Craze and Very Vanilla cardstock. Patterned Paper from Bohemian dsp.
  • Stamps: Thankful Forest Friends and For All Things.
  • Inks: Stampin' pads in Delightful Dijon and Cajun Craze. Stampin' Write markers in Old Olive, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake.
  • Other Stuff: Finishing Touches edgelit, circle stitched die by My Favorite Things, Vanilla/Gold Twine, wooden Autumn accent and stampin' dimensionals.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Autumn Birdies Thanksgiving Card

Hello! This year I decided to make my Thanksgiving cards in advance. Usually I'm trying to make a dozen or more cards the week before I need them and I always feel rushed to get them in the mail. By doing this, maybe I'll be able to send cards to everyone on my list. Do you start making your holiday cards early or wait to right before you need them?

For this card I've used the Autumn Song Birdies digital image by Doodle Pantry. It comes with a pre-colored option that I used. The two patterned papers used are by American Crafts and the blue cardstock is Marina Mist by Stampin' Up!. To cut the image I used a Lil' Inkers stitched rectangle die cut with my Big Shot. The sentiment is by Inkadinkado and the the little flourish is by Bo Bunny, they were stamped using StazOn Timber Brown ink. The final touch was adding some twine and candy dots for detail. Thanks for stopping by!

Apple Pie Give Thanks Card

Mmm... Apple Pie is my favorite kind of pie and it's a must have at Thanksgiving! However, it must be homemade and not a store bought pie, there is a big difference.

The image used on this Apple Pie Give Thanks Card is by Meljen's Designs. It came pre-colored which makes life easy when I make multiple cards with the same image. I bought this image before Meljen's changed her store, not sure you can buy it individually anymore. The layout is from the challenge Tuesday Morning Sketches and this sketch was designed by Jessi Fogan. Click here to see her card. The background patterned paper is from the Sweater Weather paper pad by DCWV and the banners were made from scraps. The edges were sponged with Frayed Burlap distress ink (I may have gotten a little carried away with this process). The Give Thanks sentiment is from the retired hostess set called Good Greetings by Stampin' Up! To add the "stitching" detail from the sketch, I used a little punch with woodgrain paper and added little brown rhinestones for some sparkle. That's it! Thanks for stopping by!

Thanksgiving Blessings Card

Thanks for stopping by! Today is the start of a new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz. This week we would like to see food or drink featured on your card. Since I still needed one more Thanksgiving card, I decided to use the Thanksgiving Corn Mouse by Meljen's Designs. The image was colored with Copic markers and then cut into a 3" circle. The circle was then layered onto a Spellbinders scalloped die cut from Early Espresso cardstock . Then I decided to cut into my hoarded stash of retired Stampin' Up! patterned paper from one of my all-time favorite collections, Orchard Harvest dsp. The sentiment is from AAW PrintWorks Collection and was stamped in Early Espresso ink. The last detail was adding the gold glitter leaf brad and that finished my Thanksgiving cards for this year. This card is already in the mail and headed to one of my relatives to arrive just in time for Thanksgiving. I hope they like it!

Quirky Turkey Card Take Two

Hello! I have one week to get all my Thanksgiving cards done. If I would have know earlier in the year that I would go back to work full-time, I wouldn't have procrastinated. Oh well! I am thankful I have a fun new job and it adds an element of fun to have a short deadline. Earlier in the month I made a Quirky Turkey Thanksgiving Card and at the same time I printed out several images and stamped several sentiments. So, I decided to make another Quirky Turkey Card. The image is by Doodle Pantry and comes pre-colored which works perfectly when time is an issue. The patterned papers are from the Pumpkin Patch and Sweater Weather collections both by DCWV. I kept the layout simple with a center focused design. For detail I did some stitching on the green panel and added some Candy Dots. All in all this was a pretty easy card. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day/night!

Quirky Turkey Thanksgiving Card

Here it is.... my first Thanksgiving card for 2014. I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches and the Quirky Turkey image is by Doodle Pantry. The image used came pre-colored which makes creating multiple cards super easy. The background and patterned paper is from the Sweater Weather collection by DCWV. The purple patterned paper is digital and comes with the Turkey image by Doodle Pantry. It seems I placed the sentiment label a little low from the sketch placement but it didn't alter the sketch too much. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Pilgrim Girl Thanksgiving Card

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you have a fabulous day filled with food and family. May you enjoy the calm before the shopping frenzy that ensues on Black Friday. I find it very sad that the majority of stores are opening at 8 pm tonight. I always make a pledge not to support the corporations who take holiday time away from their employees. As long as people go shopping they will keep opening earlier and earlier. The only thing I can do is refuse to spend my money during the time people should have off with their families.  I'm thankful my job allows me to have the whole day off.

I was in the mood to make one more Thanksgiving card, so I made this Pilgrim Girl Thanksgiving Card. I used the Bobblehead Thanksgiving Pilgrim Girl image by Bugaboo and colored it with my Copic markers. The layout for this card comes from the sketch at the Digi Sketch Challenge. I really love the balance to this layout. The papers are a mix from DCWV and Stampin' Up! and I added some Doodlebug Design Doodle Twine. Well, I better get some sleep. Thanks for stopping by and have a great night and pleasant tomorrow!

4 x 7 Thanksgiving Card

This afternoon I decided to shake things up and make a different sized card. It's been awhile since a made a 4 x 7 card, so that's what I did. This 4 x 7 Thanksgiving Card is a casual design. I used the Truly Grateful stamp set by Stampin' Up! and a scallop die by Spellbinders. The twine is from American Crafts and I added a few Candy Dots by Stampin' Up! The colours are full of Autumn tones using Soft Suede, Natural, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze and a small amount of Daffodil Delight ink for the wheat. I decided to stamp the inside of the card with the sentiment instead of the front, just to be different. One of my favorite things about 4 x 7 cards is I always have envelopes for this size. Well, that's about it. Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Thanksgiving Card with Deer

When making cards for my family I try to use images and colors I know they will like. This Thanksgiving Card with Deer was made with my cousin and his family in mind. He is an avid deer hunter and good ol' country boy. I tried to keep this card as manly as possible. All supplies for this card are from Stampin' Up! The image is from the retired Noble Deer stamp set and I heat embossed it using Early Espresso emboss powder. I used a blender pen and stampin' pads to color in the image. The paper and ink colors used are Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky and Whisper White. The patterned paper is from the Sweater Weather dsp and I used the woodgrain embossing folder and burlap ribbon to add texture to the card. My big regret is adding stitching to the side of the card. I should have just stitched across the top of the burlap and quit. Oh, well... I'll try not to obsess about it. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful night and pleasant tomorrow.

Maple Leaf Thanksgiving Card

Hello! It seems another weekend has flown by and World Card Making Day has come and gone. This Maple Leaf Thanksgiving Card was my World Card Making Day creation. The layout comes from the sketch at Create with Connie & Mary. I kept the card simple because I didn't want to distract any attention from the glossy Maple Leaf. The plaid paper is from the Sweater Weather dsp (132184) by Stampin' Up! and the maple leaf was cut using the Big Shot and the Autumn Accents Bigz die (127812). The final touches were the Crushed Curry Candy Dots, white twine, and the Thanksgiving sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (128748, wood). Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!
