Elephant Sympathy Card

This past week at the Tulsa Zoo their long time resident Gunda an Asian elephant passed away at the age of 67. She lived two decades longer than the average lifespan of an Asian elephant. My hubby and I were planning a trip to the zoo, so I made this Elephant Sympathy Card to give to the Zoo Keepers and Staff.

The elephant image is by Bugaboo Digi Stamps and it's one of my favorite older images. It's been in my stash since 2012 and I already had several printed to make a set of note cards. A paisley embossing folder by Cuttlebug, another older favorite, was used along with a scalloped frame by Taylored Expressions and the Petite Petal stamp set by Stampin' Up!. The colors include: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Perfect Plum and Pear Pizzazz all by Stampin' Up!. That's it, thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Blue Paisley Birthday Card

Happy Tuesday! October first has arrived and the cooler weather is on it's way. That makes me very happy! Over the weekend I found a couple challenges I wanted to combine. I found a new to me challenge called Sketchbook Saturday and combined the sketch with the Tic Tac Toe challenge from The Paper Players. To create this Blue Paisley Birthday Card I selected the middle row across to use patterned paper, embossing, and any shade of blue. The colors used are Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, and Midnight Muse. I really liked working with this sketch and it's not something I would have come up with on my own. Thanks for stopping by and have a terrific day!

Blue Paisley Birthday Card Supplies*:

  • Paper: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, and Midnight Muse cardstock, Print Poetry paper stack (retired) and Neutral designer series paper stack (retired).
  • Stamps: Papillion Potpourri and Simply Sketched Hostess stamp sets.
  • Inks: Classic stampin' pads in Crumb Cake and Midnight Muse.
  • Other Stuff: Elegant Butterfly punch, corner rounder punch, basic pearls, crumb cake tulle ribbon, and stampin' dimensionals.
*All supplies by Stampin' Up!.

My Blue Paisley Birthday Card is entered into the following challenges:
  1. Sketchbook Saturday: Sketch
  2. The Paper Players: Tic Tac Toe
  3. Make It Monday: Anything Goes

Paisley Elephant Card

This week at CASology the cue card word is ZOO which goes great with the Anything Goes Challenge to use Animals. The CASology challenge ends Sunday at noon so I sat down tonight and created this Paisley Elephant Card. The paisley elephant image is a digital stamp by Bugaboo Stamps. I used a paisley embossing folder by Cuttlebug on very vanilla card stock by Stampin' Up! The accent color is old olive and the thank you Itty Bitty Banner sentiment stamp set and Bitty Banners Framelits  are all by Stampin' Up! Thanks for checking out my card and have a great day!

Paisley Banner Thank You Card

Welcome to my late night Saturday post. Do you ever find yourself looking for excuses to buy a new crafting item? For the last several months I really wanted to buy the Cricut Pretty Pennants cartridge, but I always convinced myself to wait. Then, Friday morning I read the CAS-ual Fridays challenge is for banners and flags, and at that point I really wished I had purchased it. So what did I do? You guessed it, I went and bought it, and that's how I made the banner on this Paisley Banner Thank You Card.  I added the floral embellishment to give the card a little romantic flair. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Paisley Banner Thank You Card Supplies:
  • Paper: Brown card stock, white card stock, and marmalade blast card stock by Bazzill Basics.
  • Stamps: Curly Cute sentiment stamp set by Stampin' Up! (120510).
  • Inks: Classic stampin' pad in early espresso.
  • Other Stuff: Decorative corner punch by Creative Memories, Cricut machine, pretty pennants cartridge, floral embellishment by Recollections, and stampin' dimensionals.

P.S. I did get the pretty pennants cartridge on sale, so it was worth the wait!
