Hello and happy Tuesday! Today is the start of new sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks sketch is super easy and versatile for holidays or everyday. I decided to make a recovery card using the One The Mend stamp set by Lawn Fawn. This is one category of cards that I don't have many in my stash. Can you tell the background paper is little pills? It's by Doodlebug Designs and is from the So Much Pun 6x6 pad (2018). I'm looking forward to see how you use this weeks sketch! You have until Sunday at 8 pm EST to link your creation. Birthday Blessings Card - TMS #505

Hello and happy Tuesday! If you live in the United States I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. I will admit I didn't leave the house yesterday, it was nice to stay home. Now today is the start of a new sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches and I hope you will join us this week. After choosing my sentiment I decided to rotated the sketch vertically, to fit the flowers they couldn't be arched as drastically as the sketch shows. So, feel free to try the sketch with your creative alterations. You have until 8 pm (EST) on Sunday to link your creation. Click HERE for all the challenge details and design team inspiration.

The stamped flowers were made using Guava ink and the Fab Flowers stamp set along with coordinating dies all by Lawn Fawn. Some fun polka dot paper from the Pretty Things paper pad by My Mind's Eye was matted to a piece of Wild Wasabi cardstock by Stampin' Up!. The sentiment area was cut with a Cricut machine along with the Storybook cartridge and then was stamped with a birthday sentiment by Stampabilities. That's it! So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Caring Thoughts Card - TMS #495

Hello and happy Tuesday! Today is the start of a new sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks sketch was designed by Melissa Craig and it really is lovely. It took me awhile to decide which floral stamp set to use, but I finally decided on Fab Flowers by Lawn Fawn. We can't wait to see how you use this weeks sketch. You have until Sunday at 8 pm EST to link your creation. Click HERE for all the challenge details and wonderful design team inspiration.

Normally I love mixing patterned papers, but I couldn't come up with the right mix until I decided on the Wood Textures paper by Stampin' Up!. The paper has different shades that worked well with the sketch and it lets the flowers be the main focus. I really like how it turned out. The Caring Thoughts sentiment is retired by Stampin' Up! and it was just sitting on my craft desk waiting to be used. It's nice when things work out like that. Well, thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Sloth Hang in There Card

This time of years isn't always cheerful. I know a lot of people who struggle with the holidays, myself included. Right now my brother is going through a difficult time and I didn't get to see him over Christmas. In efforts to lift his spirits I made this Sloth Hang in There Card for him.

The sloth image is by Lawn Fawn from the Hang In There stamp set and it was die cut with the coordinating dies. Copic markers were used to color the image and distress inks in Tumbled Glass and Chipped Sapphire for the oval area. The patterned paper is from the Land of the Sahara paper pad by The Paper Studio. An oval frame accents the focal area and that's it, simple and easy to ship. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Fab Flowers Birthday Card

Hello and happy Wednesday! Today would have been my sister's 42nd birthday and although she has passed on I made this card in honor of her birthday. I had just started making cards before she passed away in 2011. The only handmade card I gave her was for Valentine's Day the month before she passed. Making cards became a form of therapy after she passed away and it continues to help me cope with everyday stresses.

For this Fab Flowers Birthday Card I selected colors I thought my sister would like for the flowers and used the Fab Flowers stamp set by Lawn Fawn. The Happy Birthday die cut is by Stampin' Up! and Blueberry Bushel cardstock was used. It took awhile to get the die cuts positioned and everything was adhered flat. The background paper is a subtle gray woodgrain and frayed burlap distress ink was sponged along the edges. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Otter Anniversary Card

It's been a few days since my last post but it's been pretty busy around my house. This week my hubby and I are celebrating our Twentieth Wedding Anniversary. It has really gone by fast!!! I wanted to make a special card to celebrate and I bought the Christmas Like No Otter stamp set for Simon Says Stamp by Lawn Fawn for the occasion. We love to visit the otters when go to the local Tulsa Zoo. They are fun and charismatic creatures!

To make this card I started with a piece of watercolor paper and oxide inks in Broken China and Salty Ocean for the water and Antique Linen and Vintage Photo for the sand. After inking the paper it was spritzed with water and a heat gun used to speed the drying process. Then the panel was die cut using a scalloped frame by Taylored Expressions. The outside frame was then darkened with more Salty Ocean distress ink. I went back and stamped the waves and little circles in the water. Then the otters and images were stamped with Memento black ink and colored with Copic markers. They were then die cut with the coordinating dies. The sand was die cut with a small wavy scallop stitches die by Simon Says Stamp. Everything was adhered flat to a piece of natural cardstock and that's it! Thanks for stopping by!

Winter Fox Card

Happy Friday! Life has been busy lately. Last night I spent two hours making decorative pretzel rods for my hubby's coworkers. Most my days are spent sewing since I'm making several of our Christmas gifts this year. It's always my goal to avoid the big box stores this time of year. The crowds and excessive Christmas marketing drive me crazy.

Onto this Winter Fox Card, the Winter Fox and coordinating dies by Lawn Fawn were one of my Cyber Monday purchases. It's the perfect image to share at the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. All patterned paper on this card is by Lawn Fawn and the glitter snow was created with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. The fox was colored with Copic markers, then it was die cut and adhered directly to the card. The sentiment comes with the stamp set and three snowflake sequins were added for detail. I'm also linking this card to the Snowflake Challenge at Cute Card Thursday. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and Warm Winter Wishes to you.
