Door Hanging - TMS Anything Goes

Hello crafty friends! It's the last Tuesday of 2019 and I hope you will join us in our annual anything goes challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. It has to be new and it has to be crafty but it doesn't have to be a card. I've made a Door Hanging for my nephew for his bedroom at my parent's house. He really likes dinosaurs, so I used some patterned paper by Doodlebug Design. The T-Rex image was a free online download. All letters were cut with my Cricut machine using the Alphalicious cartridge. Everything was adhered onto a comic book board, which is thick, the perfect size and my hubby has a ton of them. That's it! Click HERE for all the challenge details and design team inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will play along with us this week.

Pile of Fun Card - TMS #534

December is moving along and I'm not getting close to what I need to accomplish. So, I've decided that it's okay. Not everything has to turn out the way I planned because too much has happened that wasn't planned. I'm trying to just "let it go"! However... today is Tuesday and that means the start of a new sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks sketch was designed by Debbie Foster and you can make it as simple or as elaborate as you want it to be. I know this time of year is busy, but if you have that last minute card to make then this sketch might be just what you need. We would love for you to join us this week. Click HERE for all the challenge details and design team inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Poinsettia Joy Card - TMS #533

Hello crafty friends! We are starting another sketch challenge today at Tuesday Morning Sketches and I designed this weeks sketch. I hope you will give it a try! It was pretty fun to put together and feel free to substitute any shape for the circles. I went with a poinsettia build a flower die cut by Momenta that I found at Hobby Lobby. The design team did a fantastic job with their creations. Click HERE for all the challenge details and design team inspiration. Don't forget to have your creation linked by 8 pm EST on Sunday.

Finding joy may be difficult for my family this Christmas. Last Tuesday my only brother passed away and my heart is broken. He is no longer in pain and for that I'm grateful but I'm having a hard time with his passing. I wanted to make this weeks design team card because I designed the sketch, but I don't know how much crafting I'll get done in the weeks ahead. I appreciate all thoughts and prayers!

This Poinsettia Joy Card is entered into the following challenges:

Wishing You Joy Card

On Monday night I started making this Wishing You Joy Card to play along in a few challenges. Then Tuesday my life had a heartbreaking change. We knew my younger brother wasn't doing well and his prognosis was terminal but we thought we had another month or more with him. I made the two hour drive to the hospital and was there when my brother took his last breath. Watching him die has been the hardest thing I've ever done! His suffering is over but our journey of grief has just begun. After losing my younger sister in 2011 my hope was to never go through the loss of a sibling again, now at the age of 45 I'm an only child. My heart is broken all over again. If you believe in the power of prayer, feel free to say a prayer for me and my family. 💔

Tonight I finished this Wishing You Joy Card featuring an image from the Festive Fawns stamp set by Newton's Nook. It was colored with a mix of Copic and Stampin' Up! markers. The sentiment is from the Poinsettia Blooms stamp set by Newton's Nook. Two die sets by Newton's Nook were also used, the Land Borders set and the Forest Scene Builder set. The purple snowflake paper is from the Altitude Collection by Bo Bunny. To add a little more detail I used a snowflake edge punch by EK Success with white glitter paper for sparkle. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. As always... I'm glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Poinsettia Joy Card - TMS #532

Well... December is here and another Tuesday has arrived! Are you done with your Christmas cards? The design team has done a fantastic job on their creations. Click HERE for all the challenge details and design team inspiration. We would love for you to join us this week!

For this Poinsettia Joy Card I decided to go simple and let the patterned paper do all the work. The poinsettia paper is by Echo Park from the My Favorite Christmas paper pad. To add some sparkle some red and gold sequins were scattered along with a shiny gold bow. The Joy to the World sentiment is by Stampabilities and that's it. Don't forget to link your creation using the sketch by 8 pm EST on Sunday. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Happy Thanksgiving Card

Good day! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day here in the United States, so I would like to say Happy Thanksgiving to all my crafty friends. I feel grateful to have crossed paths with so many wonderful talented individuals through sharing our love of cardmaking. It truly helps me get through some tough times! Wishing each of you a wonderful day whether you live in the United States or abroad.

The image on this Happy Thanksgiving Card is by Newton's Nook from the Autumn Newton stamp set and was colored with Copic markers. A mix of papers were used, the plaid is by Photoplay and the polka dots are by Echo Park. The sentiment was purchased on clearance at Hobby Lobby several months back. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. I'm so glad you stopped by!

Birthday Card - TMS #531

Welcome back and happy Tuesday! It's time again for the start of another sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks sketch was design by Melissa Craig and it has a sentiment focused design. The only large die cut sentiment in my stash is a happy birthday die cut by Stampin' Up!, so that's what I used. The swirls were made using a die cut by Impression Obsession with silver glimmer paper. We would love for you to join us this week! It's Thanksgiving week here in the United States along with the largest shopping day of the year, but don't let that stop you from playing along. 😊 You have until 8 pm EST on Sunday to link your creation. For all the challenge details and design team inspiration click HERE. I look forward to seeing what you create.

Frankly Awesome Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share a card I made for a local hot dog restaurant my hubby and I like to visit. We go about once a month and they are always really friendly, so I used the Frank the Fun Dog stamp set by Unity Stamps to make this Frankly Awesome Card. The image was colored with Copic markers and then fussy-cut. A mix of hot dog inspired colors were used and I heat embossed the sentiment. To add a little sparkle three light blue sequins were added. That's it. I'm glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

The sun was bright when I took the photo of this card and the colors don't look great. It looked better in person!

Thankful Fox Card

Good day! It's gloomy outside today with overcast skies and scattered showers. So, I've been working on my Thanksgiving cards. I need to mail them on Saturday which means time is running out.

This Thankful Fox Card was made using the sketch from the Inky Paws Challenge. The fox image is from the Harvest Tails stamp set by Newton's Nook and was colored with Copic markers. Patterned papers are from the Fall Market paper pad by Carta Bella with cardstock colors in Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz and Soft Suede by Stampin' Up!. I liked the way Becky Noelle added the die cut sentiment on her card, so I found a thankful die and followed her lead. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. Thanks for stopping by!

Thanksgiving Card - TMS #530

Hello and happy Tuesday! We are starting a new sketch today at Tuesday Morning Sketches and I would love for you to join us this week! I'm using the sketch to make several Thanksgiving cards. It's a pretty simple sketch and easy to make multiples if you're short on time (like I am). The design team used a variety of occasions for their examples. Click HERE for all the inspiration, challenge details and this weeks prize. Just remember to have your creation linked by 8 pm EST on Sunday.

The images on both of these Thanksgiving Cards are by Newton's Nook and were colored with Copic markers. I have fun playing with patterned paper and it's the main reason I started making cards. When I make multiples they are really not the same, because I use different papers. I rarely make two identical cards. Everything on these cards were adhered flat for easy shipping and I chose not to add any embellishments. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Christmas Card with Pink

Happy Friday! I'm so glad you stopped by and I hope all is well in your world. Even though I need to focus on Thanksgiving cards I caved and made a Christmas Card with Pink. The colors were selected to play along with the Inky Paws challenge that closes today. I'm not a big fan of pink, so it usually takes a challenge to make me use it. I figure one of my nieces will get this card for Christmas.

The images and sentiment are from the Festive Fawns stamp set by Newton's Nook. In fact, with the exception of the inks, papers and rectangle die all other supplies used on this card are by Newton's Nook. They include: Forest Scene Builder Die and Land Borders Die. Copic markers were used to color the images and the coordinating die cuts were used with a Big Shot. For the focal panel I did a little ink smooshing using Tumbled Glass distress ink. That's pretty much it! Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. Thanks again for stopping by!

Newton's Thanksgiving Card

Good day crafty friends! Last night I was looking at the calendar and realized I still need to make several Thanksgiving cards to get them mailed in time. I definitely need to focus and stop getting distracted! So, this afternoon I made this Newton's Thanksgiving Card using the photo inspiration from {PIN}spirational as my starting point. The layout was based off a card my Samantha Mann from last years release debut of the Newton's Thanksgiving stamp set. The images were colored with Copic markers and die cut with the coordinating dies. To add some detail I dusted off the sewing machine and added some stitching with ivory thread. That's it! Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Because of the Brave Card

Good day! It's Veteran's Day here in the United States and I made this Because of the Brave Card to mark the occasion. When I think about all the sacrifices made by the soldiers and their families throughout the history of our nation it's always emotional. Saying thank you doesn't seem like enough!

The image and sentiment on this card are from the Home of the Brave stamp set by Jessica Lynn Original and Copic markers were used to color the image. The papers were selected to coordinate with the colored image and three stars added for some sparkle. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Fall Floral Thinking of You Card

Hello! There are many times in life that a Thinking of You Card is needed. This Fall Floral Thinking of You Card was made for my grandmother. She has dementia and the last month has been really rough for her. Yesterday I went through all of my cards and none of them were what I wanted to send, so I made this one special for her.💜

A couple of years ago I saw a card by Nancy Leedy and fell in love with the colors and floral arrangement. She used the Birthday Blooms stamp set with the leaves from the Colorful Seasons stamp set both by Stampin' Up!. I would have never thought of combining the two stamp sets without seeing her card. It's taken me a couple of years to use the two together but I'm really happy with how it turned out. Now I have the perfect card for my grandmother. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Thanksgiving Card with Squirrel

Good day! Over the next few weeks I'll be making several Thanksgiving cards to send to family and friends. When creating this Thanksgiving Card with Squirrel I was thinking "what could be more thankful than a squirrel with a arm full of nuts". We have several squirrels that frequent our backyard and I buy them nuts, I'm a sucker for cute critters.

The images featured on this card are by Newton's Nook. They are from three different stamp sets, but the squirrel is from the Harvest Tails stamp set and they were colored with Copic markers. To create the sunset I used distress oxide inks and the scene die cut is called Birch Tree Collage by Simon Says Stamp/Memory Box. As usual, everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Wishing Joy Card - TMS #528

Happy Tuesday! This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches we are happy to welcome KT Fit Kitty to our design team. She will be a co-designing with Lisa Lynn and they will alternate weeks. I'm thrilled to be working with both of these talented ladies.

This weeks sketch was designed by Debbie Foster and it made me think of a neglected snowflake die I had tucked back in my cabinet. It's been a while since I've used it and I'm trying to use my older supplies. So whether you have something older or something new to use, we would love to see your take on this weeks sketch. You have until 8 pm EST on Sunday to link your creation. Click HERE for the design team inspiration and challenge details.

Latte Birthday Wishes Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share this Latte Birthday Wishes Card. The Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop started on Friday and this is the first card I've had time to make. The papers are by Bo Bunny from the Stay Awhile collection and they were already on my desk from a card I made last month. I decided to use a Tim Holtz image from the Fresh Brewed stamp set and Copic markers were used to color the image. The sentiment is by Jaded Blossoms from the Coffee Break stamp set and it was heat embossed using Vintage Pearl embossing powder by Ranger. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and two sequins added for a touch of sparkle. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Spooky Halloween Card

Happy Halloween! Well... it's almost over, but I usually make a Halloween card while waiting for trick-or-treaters. This Spooky Halloween Card was this evenings creation. I made a inky background using distress oxide inks. The stamped images are by Hello Bluebird from the Halloween Party and Little Haunters stamp sets. Copic markers were used to color the images and then they were die cut with the coordinating dies. The spooky tree was a freebie I received with a recent Simon Says Stamp order and that's it. The tree definitely added the spooky vibe to the card. I hope you had a fantastic Halloween and thanks for stopping by.

Thanksgiving Card with Raccoon

Hello! It's a rainy and cold day which make the perfect crafting days. I decided it was time to make a few cards for Thanksgiving. When it comes to coloring images I can be pretty slow, so smaller images work better when I'm making multiple cards. This Raccoon image is from the Bushels of Love stamp set by Newton's Nook from the 2016 Simon Says Stamp Exclusive. The Happy Thanksgiving sentiment stamp by Stampabilities is a wooden stamp that I found on clearance last summer. All patterned papers are from the 2015 Fall Friends paper pad by Doodlebug Designs. Can you tell I'm trying to use some neglected supplies? My purchase rate far exceeds my crafting speed. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!🍁

Pick of the Patch Card - TMS #527

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another new sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks sketch is pretty simple and can be utilized for a wide variety of occasions. I went with Halloween and made this Pick of the Patch Card for my three year old nephew. He recently went to the pumpkin patch and had a great time, so I thought all the pumpkins would be fun. The image is called Halloween Peeker Ghost by Bugaboo Stamps and the sentiment is from a Newton's Nook stamp set called Boo-tiful Night. Three orange stars added to the green strips of paper to follow the sketch and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping.

We would love for you to join us this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches! You can find the challenge details and design team inspiration HERE. Don't forget to link your creation by 8 pm EST on Sunday. Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see your card in the gallery!

Where is the Candy? Halloween Card

Only a few more days until Halloween! Our yard is decorated and I've bought the candy, because it's all about the candy. Unfortunately, the weather is going to be cooler than normal for Halloween night. I'm hoping we still get a good number of trick-or-treaters! If not my hubbies coworkers will get some candy. 🎃

All my cards have been mailed for this year but I'm still in the Halloween mood. So, I made this Where is the Candy? Halloween Card to get a head start on next years cards. The sentiment and images are from the Where is the Candy? stamp set by Gerda Steiner Designs. After the images were colored I fussy cut them (because I couldn't find the coordinating dies, they are somewhere in my mess). The patterned paper is from the Pumpkin Party paper pad by Doodlebug Designs. I love the colors in this paper collection! Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and three sequins added for sparkle. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Peeking Cat Hello Card

Hello! There are only hours left of this years Cat Lovers Blog Hop, so I made this Peeking Cat Hello Card to honor our middle cat. We adopted him five years ago and for the first year we thought it was a big mistake. Previously he was adopted as a kitten from our vets office then he was returned at five months old. The owners said they couldn't take care of him due to a death of a family member. The poor boy was evidently left alone a lot and had severe separation anxiety. He was a challenge, but we knew if we gave up on him it would break his spirit. Now, five years later he is the most affectionate cat we have and we couldn't image life without him. He just needed time to adjust to all the changes! There are days he is still a little crazy but he is so loveable it makes up for it.💚

Last year I saw a card using the Feline Curious image by Stampendous! and I knew it would look great colored like him (photos below). Although I've been hesitant to use it because coloring with black Copic markers is a little intimidating, but I think it turned out okay. Once the image was colored I fussy cut it and adhered it flat to the plaid and woodgrain paper. The sentiment is from the Pretty Kitty stamp set by Stampin' Up!. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Kitty Trick or Treat Card

Greetings! Overnight a cold front moved in and brought with it some rain, which we needed. When I left the house to run errands I didn't bring a jacket and definitely wished I had. It's that time of year here in Oklahoma where it can be short sleeves one day and coats the next.

I'm almost done with my Halloween cards and plan to mail them on Saturday. I like the cards to arrive right before the holiday. This Kitty Trick or Treat Card features an image from the Newton's Nook Boo-tiful Night stamp set and trick or treat die cut from the Halloween Trio Die set. The background was made with Distress Oxide Inks and then I stamped some grasses from the Nature's Beauty stamp set by Stampin' Up!. It was adhered to a swirl patterned paper by Doodlebug Design from the Boos & Brews paper pad. Three sequins were added for sparkle and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

On My Mind Card - TMS #526

Happy Tuesday! This month is flying by and it's time for the start of another sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I think you will like this weeks sketch! It was designed by Laura Jean Nygaard (LJ) and it features a tag for the focal area. When creating my card I didn't notice the different layers on the sketch until LJ posted her finished card. After seeing her card I looked closer and then I saw the slight different shades to indicate another layer. My vision is definitely not as good as it used to be! 👀

Cat Thinking of You Card

Good day crafty friends! Today is the start of the 2019 Cat Lovers Blog Hop and I've made this Cat Thinking of You Card to play along. It features the Really... Kitty? stamp set by Unity Stamps and the image was colored with Copic markers. The kitty was colored to look like my first house cat that I had when I was in high school (photo below). She lived with me for twenty years before she crossed the rainbow bridge and she was the sweetest kitty I've ever had (so far). I wanted to use Fall colors and found the brown hearts paper from the Penelope paper pad and mixed it with the leaves from the Beautifully Brisk paper pad both by Bo Bunny. The sentiment is retired from the Wetlands stamp set by Stampin' Up!. For a little sparkle three sequins were added and that's it. The Cat Lovers Hop is going on through October 26th and you can find all the details HERE. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!
