Birthday Pug Card

Hello! My birthday card stash is really low, so I made this Birthday Pug Card. Although I was thinking masculine when I made it, I really think it works for male or female.

The cute little pug image is from the Pug Hugs stamp set by Newton's Nook, it was colored with Copic markers and die cut with the coordinating dies. To make the background distress inks in: Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Salty Ocean were used along with the Bubbly stencil by Newton's Nook. A little black and white paper along the edge and the panel was matted to Tempting Turquoise cardstock by Stampin' Up!. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

You're So Foxy Card

This weekend while cleaning I came across this cute fox image by Meljen's Designs. It was already cut into a circle and partially colored, so I decided to finish coloring and feature it on a card. The fun colorful circle paper is from the Hello Sunshine paper pad by Doodlebug Designs Inc. and the yellow gingham is by Paper Pizazz. It's been awhile since I've used a charm, so I added the little butterfly with some orange twine. The sentiment is by Taylored Expressions and was punched with a 1 1/4" circle punch then matted to a scalloped circle punch. I used an edge punch for the white accents and that pretty much sums up this You're So Foxy Card. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Embossed Circles Card

In my craft room the heat gun is not getting the love it used to, so I decided to break out the embossing powder and turn that heat gun on high. All the supplies on this card are retired by Stampin' Up!. It's easy to forget about the older supplies but every once in awhile I try to bring out my favorites. For this Embossed Circles Card the Lacy & Lovely stamp set was used for the circles and the sentiment is from Fabulous Four. Since my sewing machine was close by I added stitching around the edge using brown thread. The colors on this card are Tempting Turquoise and Early Espresso. For the finishing touch a large button was stitched on using Whisper White twine and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Bold Birthday Card

Good day! Becca at The Damsel of Distressed is celebrating her 30th birthday with a photo inspiration and link-up on her blog. To wish her a happy birthday I made this Bold Birthday Card using the colors from her photo along with a circle element for the focal area. The background was made using watercolor paper, pink and turquoise glimmer mist, blue watercolor ink, sour apple sparkles dimensional paint by Tulip and Stickles. There is really a lot of sparkle on this card that doesn't show up in the photo. The center circle stamp is by Close to My Heart and the birthday sentiment is by Hero Arts. Bright yellow cardstock was used to mat the circle and yellow twine wrapped three times for detail. Three sequins were added for some extra sparkle and that's it! I had a lot of fun making this card and I hope Becca likes it.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Circles with Bling Birthday Card

This morning when I saw the new Tuesday Morning Sketch created by Jessi Fogan, I knew I had to play along. My favorite basic shape is circles, so I took the sketch as it was created and used circles. For the background I decided to use some aqua Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist that I bought several years ago and have hardly used. It was sprayed onto a piece of Soft Sky cardstock  and dried with a heat gun. Then I stamped the circles from the So Many Smiles stamp set by Close to my Heart with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed with Basic Black and Melon Mambo embossing powders. The Happy Birthday sentiment is by Hero Arts and was also heat embossed with Melon Mambo. This card will be given to my teenage niece, so I had to add some bling. All bling is from Recollections. That's pretty much it!

Circle Shaped Easter Card

Hello and happy Tuesday! Today is the start of another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown and this week we want to see your circle cards. Our sponsor is Lacy Sunshine and I've used their Rory's Eggstra Delivery digi on my Circle Shaped Easter Card. This was my first attempt at making a circle card and when it came to adding embellishments I wasn't sure what to do. So, I added a sentiment and a butterfly and stopped. The image was colored with Copic markers and the size of this card is 5". I would love to see your circle cards this week and hope you will play along in the challenge. You have until mid-day next Monday, March 21st to link your creation. Click here for all the challenge details and to see the fantastic inspiration from the design team.

Umbrella Mouse Sorry Card

Hello! I hope you're having a lovely week. Mine has been pretty quite so far. My latest card is this Umbrella Mouse Sorry Card created using the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. Their sponsor this week is Bugaboo Digi Stamps and I was happy to color up this cute Umbrella Mouse to play along. After selecting my image, I started looking through my patterned papers and found what I think looks like big rain drops on a sea of Lost Lagoon by Stampin' Up! (Moonlight paper stack). Perfect! I decided to use Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight for accent colors and punched circles for my embellishment detail. Then I decided it needed a small sentiment and the little mouse looks like it wants to apologize for something so I went with the Teeny Tiny Wishes sentiment, I'm So Sorry. Cute critters make everything better! Hopefully, I won't need to say I'm So Sorry, but if I do I hope this card makes forgiveness easy. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Circles Thank You Card

Good afternoon! I have a quick post to share my newest card. This Circles Thank You Card was made using the colours from the current challenge at ColourQ. The only problem was I didn't have stamp pads that even closely resembled Concord Grape or Pretty in Pink. For that reason I decided to play with patterned paper. The layout comes from the sketch challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday.  I ended up with what I think is a fun card and the only thing stamped was the sentiment. All patterned paper and Sassy Salutations Thank You sentiment is from Stampin' Up!. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Adorable Owl Baby Card

Good evening! I hope you had a lovely weekend. We are still waiting for cooler weather to arrive here in Oklahoma but each day it gets a little closer. I'm looking forward to the big "cold front" to move in. Until then... the heat is my excuse to play in my craft room. The card I'm sharing today is one that took me over two hours to make. I'm not a speedy crafter and I kept changing things which didn't help. This Adorable Owl Baby Card is my result after being inspired by a baby bath towel I found at a specialty gift shop. It had a blue swirled fabric edging and featured a cute brown, green and blue owl on one corner. I immediately thought it would make a cute card. I used my Cricut machine and punches for the various size circles. The owl was made using the owl builder and bird builder punches by Stampin' Up!. Punches and die cuts are a great way to use up scrap pieces of card stock. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

Neon Embossed Card

This Neon Embossed Card was made for my teenage niece. I find it challenging to make a card for a teenager. I'm always worried it won't be "cool" enough. Well... whether it's cool or not, I had a lot of fun using my heat gun and neon embossing powders to make it. I do have a TIP to share- when heat embossing I use a silicone pinch grip to keep from heating my fingers. It works really well and you can find them in the kitchen section of most big box stores.

The design for this card is based off this weeks sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I love using circles and knew this sketch would make a fun card for my niece. When selecting the colors I went with her favorite Neon Pink and then played around until I settled on Tempting Turquoise, Neon Green, White and Black. The black panel was in my scrap bin and only needed a little trimming. I love it when I find a scrap that fits! The final touch was three white brads that I heat embossed with Neon Pink embossing powder. Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic Friday!!!

Hello Card

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend! This morning I planted a flat of petunias in my front flower bed. Then I spent some time in my craft room creating this Hello Card. I used the BINGO challenge at Simply Create Too for the design elements of my card. I used the "I" row which called for: Green, Banner, Gems, Embossing and Circles.  I heat embossed the Lacy & Lovely circles by Stampin' Up! with Gumball Green and used Black and Melon Mambo as accent colors. The green patterned paper is from the Amy Tangerine collection by American Crafts and the sentiment stamp is from TPC Studios. The design is simple but I really love the bright green with the black contrast. Thanks for stopping by!

Circles Happy Birthday Card

Hello! This afternoon I've been playing with the scraps on my craft table and I ended up having fun with circles. This Circles Happy Birthday Card is a casual design with a contemporary feel. I used punches and my Cricut machine to make the various sizes of circles. The Pacific Point polka dot strip was a discarded idea from earlier this week. I masked and sponged the Pacific Point and then heat embossed the polka dots using the Distressed Dots stamp by Stampin' Up! (the Distressed Dots stamp is on the retiring list, so get it while you can). Overall this was a pretty simple card. Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!

My Circles Happy Birthday Card is entered into the following challenges:

Contemporary Card

For this weeks ColourQ challenge I wanted to do something different.  Over the last couple of days I've been experimenting with my artistic abilities.  I have a painting that I made in college that inspired this card.  I would sum up this contemporary card by saying it is clean, simple, modern, and fun.

Contemporary Card Directions:
  1. Make card from white cardstock.  Finished size: 4" x 5.5".
  2. Trim blue cardstock slightly smaller than card, wrap and secure twine, and adhere.
  3. Punch 1 1/2", 1", and 3/4" circles, layer circles, adhere middle circle with dimensionals and outer circles directly to card.
  4. Stamp sentiment and adhere rhinestones.

If the Crown Fits Card

One of my favorite brands of patterned paper to work with is Basic Grey.  When I read they were having a Diamond Jubilee Challenge, I decided to play along.  My cats are treated like Queens, so I really wanted to find a digital stamp that featured a cat with a crown.  After a quick image search I found a great digital stamp at www.pjgscrapbookheaven.com called Queen for a Day by Jamie Kay.  The digital stamp was the starting point for my design inspiration.  My style isn't frilly so I took a bling approach to this card.  The Basic Grey patterned paper is from the out of print collection and the circles in this pattern gave me the idea for the cut out circles in this design.

If the Crown Fits Card Supplies:  Pink cardstock, white cardstock, patterned paper by Basic Grey (out of print collection, publication/ m-out-3324 and olivia collection, amelia/ m-via-2642), glitter cardstock by Recollections (179532), patterned paper by My Minds Eye (Lost & Found Two by Jen Allyson, LF2065), Fiskars edge punch, Bling on a Roll adhesive rhinestones by Recollections (174752), Cricut machine, Cricut cartridge (George and Basic Shapes, for 2" circles), computer, printer, digital stamp by Jamie Kay, corner punch by Creative Memories, 1.25" scallop circle punch by Marvy, ink stack by Martha Stewart Crafts (sea lavendar), and rhinestones for crown by Recollections.
