Nature's Beauty Sneak Peek

Happy Friday! August is almost behind us and that means the new holiday Stampin' Up! catalog will be debuting on September 4th. Today I have a sneak peek of a new stamp set called Nature's Beauty and for every set sold $3 will go towards mental health organizations. The set includes images of a rabbit, fox and deer with wonderful grass and tree accents. I made a tag using the rabbit with some grasses and paired it with new patterned paper from the Come To Gather designer series paper. Copic markers were used to color the images and a pair of deckle Fiskar's scissors were used to cut the edges. When adding a sentiment I prefer to have them fit into a shape that can be matted but that doesn't always work. The sentiments seem to stand out better which I like. Luckily I found a For You sentiment in the retired Birthday Blooms stamp set that fit into a 1 1/4" circle and I matted it with a scalloped circle. That's it! Everything was adhered flat and a ribbon added to the top. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend.

Drumming Rabbit Card

Happy Friday! It's back to school time and my niece is in the drum line of her high school band. So I searched for the perfect image and finally found this cute drumming rabbit by LilooboxShop on Etsy. Even though it was meant to be an Easter image it was exactly what I wanted. The image was colored with Copic markers using her school colors and then die cut with a frame die by Taylored Expressions. The patterned papers were gathered from my scrap bin and the Woohoo! sentiment by Paper Smooches added. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful and crafty weekend!

On My Mind Card - TMS #513

Another week has come and went and it's time to start another sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks layout was designed by Debbie Foster and my card features a digital image called Bunny by Di's Digital Stamps. The sweet bunny was colored with Copic markers and die cut with a stitched square die. A sentiment was added where the butterflies are featured on the sketch with some twine in place of the rick rack element. A small butterfly was added for detail and that's it. I sure hope you will join us this week! For all the challenge details and design team inspiration click HERE. Don't forget to have your card linked by 8 pm EST on Sunday. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Welcome Spring Card

It may be Summer but I'm thinking Spring. I send out more cards in Spring and Fall, so I thought I would work on cards for those seasons. I'm also trying to use the digital images I already have printed and this Spring Friends image by Bugaboo Stamps was perfect to go with the current Stella Says Sketch challenge. After selecting the patterned paper from the Hoppy Easter paper pad by Doodlebug Design the image was colored with Copic markers to coordinate. Some scraps were used for the three banners and the sentiment is from the Woodland Spring stamp set by Newton's Nook. For easy shipping everything was adhered flat and that's it. So glad you stopped by and I hope you come back again soon.

Halloween Card in June

Okay... I made one more card for the Inky Paws 100th challenge. I couldn't help myself I had to use my favorite Newton's Nook Hoppy Halloween stamp set. You know when you see a stamp set and just have to have it? That's how I felt with the Hoppy Halloween set. 💜

To create this card I combined the first Inky Paws challenge which was a sketch with the color challenge #82. The images were colored with Copic markers and die cut with the coordinating dies.  Patterned papers are from the Boos & Brews paper pad by Doodlebug Designs (2016). The sentiment was heat embossed and to add some sparkle a few sequins were added. That's it! So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day!

I'm entering this Halloween Card into the copy cat color challenge.

Hoppy Together Card

Hooray for the weekend! While my hubby took a nap this evening I finished this Hoppy Together Card. I'm using some of my favorites! My favorite color combo is purple, green and yellow and I love the bunny stamps by Newton's Nook. The stamp sets featured include Woodland Spring and Bitty Bunnies. You will find bunny items all in my house, from pictures on the walls, ceramic decor and purple bunny curtains in my craft room. I just adore bunnies!

The layout for this Hoppy Together Card is from Freshly Made Sketches. Once the images were stamped with Memento black ink they were colored with Copic markers and then die cut with the coordinating dies. When I was making this card I was thinking anniversary. My parents have their 48th coming up in a few days. Well, that's it! I hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Easter Blessings Card with Bunny

Hello! I decided to make one more Easter card and couldn't resist using one of my favorite stamps called Let's Be Happy by Unity Stamps. The bunny is just darling and makes me smile. Copic markers were used to color the bunny and then a stitched square die was used. For the background paper I found a piece of yellow polka dots from my scrap bin and used a small piece of floral paper from the Spring Fling Paper Pad by Echo Park. A small pink butterfly finishes it off and that's it. So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day!

When I first saw this sketch I knew that Bugaboo Stamps had the perfect block images to use on my card. Since I needed to finish up my Easter cards I used the Bunny Block Trio and colored it with Copic markers. Some bright plaid paper from the Hoppy Easter paper pad by Doodlebug Designs was used for the background and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Happy Easter Chick Card

Hello crafty friends! Over the next couple of weeks I'll be making numerous Easter cards for my family and friends. I really enjoy making Easter cards but I also procrastinate and make most of them right before I need them. 😊

This Happy Easter Chick Card was made using the current freebie at Bugaboo Stamps and it was colored with Copic markers. Then it was die cut with a cross stitched oval die by My Favorite Things. The hardest part was picking the patterned papers, but after a little digging I found a few I liked. To finish the card I added the Happy Easter sentiment and a stamped flower from my stash. That's it! So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Pastel Happy Easter Card

Hello and happy Friday! Today is the last day to enter the current Inky Paws color challenge, so I figured I better get my card done. I struggle with pastel colors and had attempted making a card several times and just stopped. Time is also running out to make Easter cards and that prompted me to make this Pastel Happy Easter Card. I played around with my patterned papers, after making my selections I stamped and colored the image. The image is called Spring Pile Up by Newton's Nook and it was colored with Copic markers, which is my favorite coloring medium. The blue used is called Baby Blue by Copic marker and it varies from the color in the challenge photo, but I figured baby blue of all shades would work. After coloring the coordinating dies were used to cut out the image and the Happy Easter sentiment. You can't tell from the photo, but I added sugar cube glitter paint by Martha Stewart Crafts to the sentiment for some sparkle. Then I decided to color and die cut some flowers and leaves from the Deer Friend stamp set by Newton's Nook. Finally I had a finished pastel colored card. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the weekend!

Woodland Spring Lamb Card

Happy Friday! My parents raise sheep and right now is lambing season. They currently have 20 babies with a few more mothers still expecting. It's always fun to see the babies this time of year.

This Woodland Spring Lamb Card has the same layout as the last card I made but I used different colors and patterned paper. Then I used the Woodland Spring Lamb image by Newton's Nook instead of the rabbit. The floral paper is from the Spring Things paper pad by Doodlebug Designs (2016) and was die cut with the Frames and Flags die set by Newton's Nook. Copic markers were used to color the images and then the coordinating dies were used. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the first weekend of Spring.

Sweet Spring Hello Card

Hello! Later today is the "official" start to Spring and our backyard cottontails have been pretty active. The other morning we saw five cottontail rabbits chasing each other in the backyard. Don't be fooled by these cute critters, they have a violent tendency to protect their territory. We caught two fighting on our back porch a couple of nights ago and when the sun came up I noticed bloody paw prints on the porch. I'm hoping the bunny wasn't too injured. 😢 They are cute but they are feisty!

This Sweet Spring Hello Card was made using two different Newton's Nook stamp sets. The rabbit with flowers is from the Woodland Spring stamp set and the other rabbit is from the Bitty Bunnies stamp set. Copic markers were used to color the images and the coordinating dies were used. To create the layers I used the Frames & Flags die set by Newton's Nook. A fancy piece of purple gingham adds some pattern to the card and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the first day of Spring.

Happy Easter Card - TMS #492

Welcome and happy Tuesday! Today at Tuesday Morning Sketches we are featuring Patti's favorite sketch of 2018 and she selected sketch #464 from last July. You can see the original post HERE. We would love for you to join our challenge this week! Just make a card using the sketch and link your creation by Sunday, 8 pm EST. Click HERE for all the challenge details and design team inspiration.

When it comes to sending handmade cards for Easter, I usually make and send around eighteen cards. So, I decided it was time to get started. This Happy Easter Card was pretty easy to make and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. The little bunny was created using a Martha Stewart punch that I've had for many years. I've used one of my favorite color combos of purple, yellow and green. The patterned paper is from the Cottontail Collection by Bo Bunny and the sentiment is from the You're Inspiring stamp set by Stampin' Up!. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Valentine's Day Blog Hop

Happy Valentine's Day and welcome to a Valentine's Day Blog Hop! You won't find any red or pink on this post because the card I'm sharing is for my hubby. I used purple and blue as the main colors. A pair of darling bunnies from Crafter's Companion called Perfect Couple were used for the focal image and they were colored with Copic markers. This stamp set was bought many years ago with the intention of making my hubby a card, so I finally did. We have cottontail bunnies in our yard and we love to watch them. I didn't add any embellishments just some plaid and polka dot papers for detail. Simple but sweet.

Thanks for stopping by! I am giving away a Foxy Valentine stamp by Unity Stamps, so make sure to comment on my blog. Your invited to follow me if you want, but it's not a requirement. The winner will be randomly selected on Friday, Feb. 22nd from the comments on this post. Wishing you a wonderful day and enjoy the hop!

Bunny Christmas Card

Christmas will be here in less than two weeks! Have you mailed your cards yet? I always mail mine about ten days before Christmas, but I still have a couple of cards to make. Then I'll have to decorate and address the envelopes to get the cards in the mail on time. 🎄

This afternoon I made this Bunny Christmas Card using a digital image by Lee Holland. The image was colored with Copic markers and then the image was die cut with an Alterations square die by Tim Holtz. After cutting the snowflakes with a Cricut machine some acrylic glitter paint was painted on and some added to the snow on the image . To accent the bunny's hat some Stickles were added and a dot of stickles in the center of the snowflakes for extra sparkle. All papers are from the Holly Jolly 6 x 6 paper pad by American Crafts (2015). That's it! So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Happy Hoppy Halloween!!!

Happy Hoppy Halloween!!! The trick-or-treating has begun and a sugar rush is sure to follow. We always decorate our yard and try to make it fun for the kids. Unfortunately, it is raining and that may keep some of the ghouls and goblins away. That could mean leftover candy... which I'm sure my hubby will have no problem polishing off.

After I mailed my Halloween cards to family and friends, I decided to make one more card using some of the scraps. Everything was laying around my craft desk and the image was already colored. All I had to do was trim a few pieces, die cut the bats, stamp the sentiment and adhere everything together. The orange polka dot paper really soaked up the Memento black ink I used with the sentiment. It started out much darker, but it's much lighter now. Well, that's it! I hope you have a safe and Happy Halloween!

Candy Rabbit Halloween Card

Hello! Hopefully you're having a great week. I'm still working on my Halloween cards so I can get them in the mail on time. To make this Candy Rabbit Halloween Card I used the sketch from the Inky Paws Challenge. The images and sentiment are from the Hoppy Halloween stamp set by Newton's Nook. Since mixing patterned papers is one of my favorite parts about making handmade cards, I used three different papers on this card. The candy paper is from the Trick or Treat paper pad by Pebbles (2016), purple watercolor by Ms. Sparkle & Co (Joann's) and Cool Lime paper by The Paper Studio. Some retired Halloween twine from Stampin' Up! was added and then the focal circle adhered with dimensionals. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Hoppy Halloween Card

Hello! I hope you had time to make a card today during World Cardmaking Day. We ran errands this afternoon and then I took a nap, finally this evening I made this Hoppy Halloween Card. The stamp set is called Hoppy Halloween and it's by Newton's Nook. It coordinated perfectly with the candy patterned paper from the Trick or Treat paper pad by Pebbles (2016). Some twine and three glimmer dots finished the card and that's it.

Autumn Bunny Card

Hello and happy Wednesday! My hubby was home the last couple of days, so there was no crafting going on at my house. He is at work today, but then he will be off tomorrow through the weekend. While I had some time to myself today I made this Autumn Bunny Card using a stamp by Whimsy Stamps called Bunny in Leaves (retired). The image was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with a square alterations framelit die by Tim Holtz. Since the image is on the larger size, I opted to make a square card. The layout is from the sketch at Cheerful Sketches Challenge. The leaves and plaid patterned papers are from the Fall Blessings paper pad by Carta Bella (2015) and were matted to Shaded Spruce cardstock by Stampin' Up!. There is no added embellishments to this card, just a sentiment from the Harvest Tails stamp set by Newton's Nook. That's it and thanks for stopping by.

Cute Hoppy Halloween Card

Hello! It's another Monday and I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was pretty uneventful, but that's okay. We ran errands and did a few things around the house and that was it.

For this Cute Hoppy Halloween Card I decided to get a little inky with the background. Using mixed media paper and distress inks in: Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint, Scattered Straw, Abandoned Coral, Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves. Once the ink colors were blended I used a distress sprayer with water to lift some color, blotting with a paper towel. Then I used the heat gun to speed the drying process. The images are from Newton's Nook Hoppy Halloween stamp set, which I absolutely LOVE. Copic markers were used to color the images and then coordinating dies were used. The patterned paper is from the Boos & Brews paper pad by Doodlebug Designs, Inc. To accent the focal area a piece of green patterned paper was die cut with a retired edgelit die by Stampin' Up!. Then I decided to add two black bats using the Newton's Boo-tiful Night die set by Newton's Nook. Everything was adhered to a piece of Grape Delight cardstock by Bazzill and then adhered to the white card base. That's it! So glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
