Springtime Owl Card - TMS #498

Tuesday is here again and that means the start of another sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks sketch has a unique circle element that I really enjoyed using and I hope you will too. All the challenge details and design team inspiration can be found HERE. You have until 8 pm EST on Sunday to link your creation. I can't wait to see how you use this sketch!

The focal area of the sketch was perfect for the Springtime Owl image by Unity Stamps. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was matted to a piece of Garden Green cardstock by Stampin' Up!. The patterned papers are from the Flora No. 2 paper pad by Carta Bella. To finish off the card a sentiment by Taylored Expressions was added and that's it. Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

You're Kind Bunny Card

Good day! It's been awhile since I've played along at Tuesday Morning Sketches. So today I made this You're Kind Bunny Card using this weeks challenge sketch. I also found a couple challenges to use Bunnies/Rabbits and since they are one of my favorite cute critters I had to play along. The image is by Di's Digi Stamps and it's called Bunny. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut with a stitched circle die. All patterned papers are from the Family Ties paper pad by Pebbles (2012). The You're So Kind sentiment is by Taylored Expressions from the Zinnia Bouquet stamp set and it was die cut with a designer mini tag also by Taylored Expressions. A little twine bow to accent the mini tag and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Butterfly and Music Card

Happy Earth Day! This afternoon I went to the grocery store and when I checked out the clerk offered me a free redbud tree in support of Earth Day. Now I need to find a place in my yard to plant the little tree. I usually try to plant something every year on Earth Day even if it's just flowers in my flowerbeds. Making the Earth a little prettier one plant at a time.

This Butterfly and Music Card was made for my niece to give the donor of a music scholarship she recently received. The scholarship is for a choir group she sings with throughout the year and it was an essay contest to select the scholarship recipients. I used this layout earlier this week and loved how simple it was and it really lets the butterfly stand out. The patterned music paper is from The Paper Studio and a strip of red houndstooth pattern paper by Authentique. The Very Vanilla cardstock was embossed using the decorative dots embossing folder from Stampin' Up! and I used my favorite butterfly stamp from the Watercolor Wings stamp set. Ink colors used on the butterfly include Crisp Cantaloupe, Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black. For a little sparkle some clear Wink of Stella was added to parts of the butterfly. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and was punched with the washi tape punch. Everything is adhered flat for easy shipping and no extra postage costs. That's it!

You're So Kind Card

Happy Friday! April has arrived and the flowers are sure to follow. The tulips have already bloomed here in Northeast Oklahoma and our first tornado of the season hit Wednesday night. It's likely to be an active Spring!

This afternoon I spent some time in my craft room and made this You're So Kind Card. I was in the mood for something bright and cheerful. The patterned papers on this card are from the Hello Sunshine paper pad by Doodlbug Designs Inc. I've used an image from Bugaboo Digi Stamps called Spring Friends and colored it with Copic markers. The layout is from the Stella Says Sketch challenge and I added a sentiment from Taylored Expressions. Following the sketch, six citron green bitty circles were punched and added to opposite corners along with melon mambo candy dots.  To accommodate the image size I made this card 4.5" x 6.25". That's it! Wishing you a great day and a wonderful weekend!
