Indian Corn Give Thanks Card

Hello! A couple of years ago I saw a beautiful fall card using an Indian Corn image. It took me awhile to remember what company made the image but I finally found it by Divinity Designs. The stamp set is called A-MAIZE-ING. I colored the image with Copic markers and then used the coordinating die to cut it out. A mix of patterned papers were used and some deckle dies by Hello Bluebird. A few gold sequins to finish it off and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. That's it! Give Thanks Card with Edward Fall Pumpkins

Hello and happy last day of November! To finish off this month I've made one more Give Thanks Card using the photo inspiration at the Catch The Bug Challenge. The image on this card is by Bugaboo and it's called Edward Fall Pumpkins. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut using a stitched circle die by My Favorite Things. I played with some neglected corner punches and a leaf border punch by Fiskars. The Give Thanks sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder. Both plaid papers are from my scrap bin. The brown is by Lawn Fawn and the orange is from DCWV. Three sequins finished off this card and that's it. I'm glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Animals Give Thanks Card

Although all my Thanksgiving cards are in the mail, I thought I would make a few more to get a jump on next year. I like using animals or cute images on cards I make the youngsters in the family. This image is by Bugaboo Digi Stamps and it's called Autumn Critter Stack 02. It comes with a pre-colored version, which I have used. The image was die cut using a frame by Taylored Expressions. The layout is simple and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. To play along with the Catch The Bug November Bingo Challenge I selected the diagonal: Embossing (heat embossed sentiment), Thanksgiving Theme and Bugaboo Image.  The brown plaid paper is by Lawn Fawn and the acorns are from the Woodland Forest paper pad by Pebbles. Handmade Give Thanks Card

Hello and happy Labor Day! I hope you're lucky enough to have the day off to rest, relax and CRAFT. My hubby took a couple additional days of vacation so we've had a long weekend together and it's been nice. We didn't make any plans and have taken it one day at a time. Sometimes it's nice to just do nothing!

On Thursday I saw the color challenge at Pals Paper Arts to use: Delightful Dijon, Old Olive and Cajun Craze. These colors are perfect for a Thanksgiving card, so I made this Handmade Give Thanks Card. I've used a mix of new, current and retired supplies by Stampin' Up! along with a circle stitched die by My Favorite Things.

• Paper: Delightful Dijon, Old Olive, Cajun Craze and Very Vanilla cardstock. Patterned Paper from Bohemian dsp.

Apple Pie Give Thanks Card

Mmm... Apple Pie is my favorite kind of pie and it's a must have at Thanksgiving! However, it must be homemade and not a store bought pie, there is a big difference.

The image used on this Apple Pie Give Thanks Card is by Meljen's Designs. It came pre-colored which makes life easy when I make multiple cards with the same image. I bought this image before Meljen's changed her store, not sure you can buy it individually anymore. The layout is from the challenge Tuesday Morning Sketches and this sketch was designed by Jessi Fogan. Click here to see her card. The background patterned paper is from the Sweater Weather paper pad by DCWV and the banners were made from scraps. The edges were sponged with Frayed Burlap distress ink (I may have gotten a little carried away with this process). The Give Thanks sentiment is from the retired hostess set called Good Greetings by Stampin' Up! To add the "stitching" detail from the sketch, I used a little punch with woodgrain paper and added little brown rhinestones for some sparkle. That's it! Thanks for stopping by!

Good evening! I had today off and between errands I spent some time in my craft room. It's been awhile since I've played along at Cards in Envy and Mojo Monday so today I printed out the Mojo sketch and made this Give Thanks Card.

Masculine Give Thanks Card

Fall colors are wonderful to create masculine cards. So, take advantage of the season and join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz for our theme Thanksgiving/Thankful. For my card I chose to use the Lovely as a Tree stamp set by Stampin' Up! It truly is a classic and perfect for masculine cards. I used the rock-n-roll technique for the leaves of the tree using More Mustard and Cajun Craze inks. The patterned papers are from the Sweater Weather collection by DCWV. I dug through my punches and found the leaf punch from Creative Memories. I added a touch of Frayed Burlap distress ink onto the leaves to darken the edges. The final details were adding the three Candy Dots and the Give Thanks sentiment from the Stampin' Up! hostess/freebie set called Good Greetings. The sentiment was punched using the word window punch and layered onto the modern label punch both by Stampin' Up! I kept the layout simple and let the paper and colors do all the work.

Autumn Colors Card

Hooray! It's officially fall/autumn here in Oklahoma, USA and that makes me very happy. Although the temperatures are still hoovering around 80 degrees, I know it won't be long until the cooler weather is here to stay. This morning I started a load of laundry and decided to make a card while the washer did all the work. It seemed like an efficient use of my time?!!!? As luck would have it the new challenge at SU-Only came out today and the challenge is to use Autumn Colors. Sounds perfect to me! Here is my card made with all Stampin' Up! products. Give Thanks For All Things Card

Hello! I hope you're having a wonderful Monday. It's really hot today in Oklahoma, which is the perfect excuse to stay indoors an do some crafting. For this Give Thanks For All Things Card, I used the sketch CCMC317 at Create with Connie & Mary. Since I had the For All Things stamp set out on my desk, I decided to make another Fall card. The patterned paper is from the new Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper which contains most of my favorite fall colors. I attempted the trendy twine loopy look but I definitely need to practice. It ended up kinda looking like a flower.?. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and thanks for stopping by!

Fall Emerging Color Card for The Paper Players

Thanks for stopping by to check out my card for this weeks challenge at The Paper Players. This week we have a sketch challenge hosted by the talented Jaydee. I always enjoy sketch challenges! My inspiration for this challenge comes from my anticipation of Fall arriving. Here in the States we have four more weeks until the official start of Fall and I'm ready!

To create the background for my card I used the Emerging Color Technique and the For All Things stamp set. At the bottom of my post I have provided step-by-step directions and photos on the creation process. It's a lot of fun but it's also a little messy.

Here is the sketch:

Emerging Color Technique Directions:

Step 1: Cut a white piece of cardstock to the desired finished size.

Step 2: Select the ink colors to create your background.

Step 3: Randomly ink cardstock with selected colors.

Step 4: After ink is dry, use embossing buddy and stamp with VersaMark ink.

Step 5: Apply clear embossing powder to the stamped areas, shake off excess and then heat emboss.

Step 6: Using the darkest ink color, apply ink to the entire panel. Use paper towel to remove excess ink off of embossed areas. Repeat process if needed. 

That's it! I matted my image to a slightly larger piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and adhered it to a base card of Very Vanilla cardstock. Then I added my sentiment and details.

Give Thanks Faux Patina Card

This evening I used the Pumpkin Photo as color inspiration for this Give Thanks Faux Patina Card. I embossed a Whisper White piece of cardstock with the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder by Stampin' Up!. Before embossing I inked the embossing folder with Crumb Cake to give the background a little color. Then I sponged on the following colors:

• Cajun Craze
• Marina Mist
• Perfect Plum
• Pumpkin Pie

The final step was heat embossing the gold to give it the Faux Patina look. Here is a link to a tutorial if you like step by step instructions. The sentiment strip was made with white cardstock and then I sponged on a light layer of Crumb Cake ink before I heat embossed the sentiment in gold. The final touch was two antique brads and I used dimensionals between the Cajun Craze and Perfect Plum layers behind the sentiment. I'm really happy with the way this card turned out and it's definitely prettier in person. Houndstooth Give Thanks Card

Hello! I have a quick post this evening to share my Houndstooth Give Thanks Card. There are many Fall/Autumn challenges out right now and I thought it would be a good time to get a head start on my Thanksgiving cards. It seems I always procrastinate and end up making them all the week before I need them. This year I'm trying to be a little more proactive.

With the exception of the sentiment and embossing folder, all the products used on this card are by Stampin' Up!. Many of the products are retired but they had the look I wanted for this card. I used last years Festival of Prints paper stack, French Foliage stamp set, Cajun Craze dsp and More Mustard card stock. The current products are Natural cardstock, Old Olive cardstock, Early Espresso Core'dinations sandable cardstock, Antique Brads, and Old Olive Candy Dots. The sentiment stamp is part of a larger stamp that I masked and it's from last years dollar bin at Michaels. For the embossed borders I used an Organic Flourish folder by Cricut Cuttlebug. After all was put together I really wished I would have moved the sentiment, brad, and strip of Cajun dsp down a quarter of an inch. It would have centered the brad between the two bottom leaves.
