Cardinal In My Thoughts Card

Today is the first anniversary of the day my brother passed away. The remaining pieces of my heart were shattered that day. It has been a year of daily tears and a struggle to accept that both my siblings have passed on. For the remainder of the year I'm taking a break from the computer and being online. I may still post a few things to Instagram but that's about it.

This Cardinal In My Thoughts Card was made for my parents. After my sister passed away I started to take notice of the cardinals in my yard. I have several visit my yard everyday and I truly enjoy their visits. My mom has mentioned the representation of cardinals being a visitor from heaven, so I thought the cardinal was very fitting for this card. It's from the Toile Christmas stamp set by Stampin' Up! and was colored with Copic markers. The sentiment is retired by Stampin' Up! and the patterned paper is from the Winter Farmhouse paper pad by Simple Stories. Well, that's it. Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful December!

  1. Andrea your card is gorgeous and your heart is in it so it makes it even more incredible. Grief is something that you just don't get over you go through it. I can tell you that with it being almost seven years since my husband passed that some days are just difficult and it doesn't have to be a birthday, anniversary or holiday....it can be that a photo reminds you or a memory. There is no magic timeline, no miracle recipe, no quick fix grief is grief. From the posts that I have read of yours you do mention that you lost both your siblings so you have double grief, but you also sound as if you have survivors guilt. I believe that everything happens for a reason and we may not understand why in this world, but you cannot beat yourself up for what did or didn't happen. Life is a lesson you need to learn from it and not make the same mistakes. You are a wonderful and caring person so take care of yourself during your break and the holidays. Sending you hugs and warm wishes.
