Wooden Father's Day Card

Hello! It's almost Father's Day and to make sure my dad's card arrived on time it needed to be mailed today. So, this afternoon I made this Wooden Father's Day Card and it went straight to the post office when finished. My dad has always worked with wood. He had a cabinet and door making business while I was growing up and he still does a few jobs when persuaded. I used to play around in his shop while he was working. There was always sawdust that need sweeping and when you're a kid it's fun to play in sawdust. This past week he worked on wooden centerpiece accents for my niece's wedding that turned out really nice. Hopefully he will like his Wooden Father's Day Card!

The patterned paper is from the retired Wood Texture paper by Stampin' Up! and the saw stamp is from the retired Stampin' Up! set called Nailed It. The Happy Father's Day sentiment is by Hero Arts and the polka dot paper is by Bo Bunny. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Faux Patina Card - TMS #559

Good day crafty friends! This weeks sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches is wide open for your creative interpretation. I looked through lots of patterned paper but I decided to use the Faux Patina technique. It combines embossing, ink blending and heat embossing. Have you ever tried it? I looked back to see the last time I did this technique and it was almost two years ago. Here is some other Faux Patina Cards I've created over the years. We would love for you to join the challenge using this weeks sketch designed by Patti. If you've never tried the Faux Patina technique I encourage you to give it a try. Here is a link to a short video tutorial. For the the design team inspiration and all the challenge details click HERE. Don't forget to link your creation by 8 pm EST on Sunday.

This Faux Patina Card is linked to the Allsorts embossing challenge. After I made my card I was doing some cleaning and found a package of Toner Card Fronts sold by Unity called Butterfly Fly Away. So, I decided to finally get my new laminating machine out of the box and give foiling a try. The foil is called Rainbow Shattered Glass by iCraft and I used Distress Inks to color the panel before foiling. I'm linking my Butterfly Foiled Card to the Daring Cardmakers Wing It! challenge. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Floral Wedding Card

Hello! The next big event in our family is my oldest niece's wedding next week. This afternoon I made this Floral Wedding Card using the napkin design for her reception as the inspiration (photo below). I hope she likes it!

Most of the supplies used to make this Floral Wedding Card are retired by Stampin' Up!. The stamp set is called Climbing Roses and the coordinating dies are from the Rose Trellis die set. The image was colored with Copic markers and the sentiment was heat embossed with a pearl embossing powder by Stampendous!. The white panel was embossed with a leaf embossing folder and a little lace added to one edge for detail. The gold trellis, sentiment and roses were adhered flat and that's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Congrats to You Card - TMS #558

Good day crafty friends! We are starting another new sketch today at Tuesday Morning Sketches and I want to invite you to play along. The sketch was designed by Melissa Craig and I'm looking forward to your take on the flourish detail. I pulled out one of the first stamps sets I bought when I started making cards. It's called Dot Flourishes by Inkadinkado. Then I decided a neutral Congrats card would be a good addition to my stash. The sentiment is retired by Stampin' Up! and it was die cut with cross stitch dies by My Favorite Things. To add some sparkle I added a few sequins and that's it. Snarky Cat Card

Hello! A few weeks ago one of my crafty friends, Lisa Lynn, posted a card using the Snarky Cat stamp set and until then I hadn't seen this stamp set by Tim Holtz. Since I have a sarcastic sense of humor and love cats this was the perfect stamp set to add to my collection.

To make this Snarky Cat Card I decided to use a layout by Freshly Made Sketches. The cat was colored with Copic markers and then fussy cut. I decided to make it a masculine card to play along at Simon Says Stamp and C.R.A.F.T.. All the papers have been in my stash for a long time, the stripes are by My Mind's Eye from the Adventure paper pad and the polka dots are by Bo Bunny. I'm also linking this card to the anything goes challenge at Cute Card Thursday. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Contemporary Thanks Card - TMS #557

Hello crafty friends! A new month is here and it's Tuesday which means the start of a new sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. We have a unique and fun sketch for you to try this time designed by Melissa Craig. I took a contemporary approach when using this sketch. It just felt more abstract to me which is an artistic style I've always liked. We would love for you to join us this week. The design team have created a variety of different interpretations for your inspiration. Click HERE to view the design teams work and for all the challenge details. Don't forget to link your creation by 8 pm EST on Sunday. I hope to see your card in the final gallery! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Changito Coffee Card

Hooray for Friday! Today is the last day of the 2020 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, so I made one more card to play along. I bought the Changito Coffee stamp by Stampendous! on clearance sometime in the last couple of years and stuck it in a drawer. While digging for stamps I found it yesterday and decided to ink it up. The image was colored with Copic markers and the pajamas were paper pieced using a small polka dot paper. I didn't have the perfect sentiment, so I created one on the computer. The inside reads: "That's why it's best to have a cup in both hands!" It seems like a good idea to me.☕☕ That's it! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend. 😊

One Sip at a Time Card

Hello crafty friends! It's taken me a couple of days to finish this One Sip at a Time Card and I really like how it turned out. The 2020 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop is going on and I made it to play along. I may make the sentiment "Take Life One Sip at a Time" my new motto. Making long term plans is no longer a priority for me, it doesn't make sense anymore. Life is too short!

The stamp set used on this card is called One Sip At A Time by Graciellie Designs from Unity Stamps and Copic markers were used to color the image. Several different papers were used. The red floral paper is by Memory Box from the Cottage Meadow paper pad, speckled paper by Lawn Fawn, orange polka dots by Memory Box and gingham by The Paper Studio. When I was outside yesterday feeding my backyard birds I saw a little blue butterfly, so I decided to add a little blue butterfly to my card. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Miss You Card with Dog

Hello! The days keep flying by but my crafty mojo has been on the fritz lately. It's not because of the lack of supplies because I have plenty and still enjoy ordering new stuff (ha). When I sit down at my craft desk I look around online and then just walk away. I know I'm struggling with the passing of my brother and I'm sad. It's just going to take a lot more time!

This Miss You Card with Dog was made using the Stella Says Sketch challenge at Catch The Bug. The sketch is for a square card, but I rarely send a square card through the mail. So, I condensed it into a rectangle A2 card. The image is called Flower Puppy and it was colored with Copic markers. The floral paper is from the Memory Box Cottage Meadow paper pad and the Miss You die cut is by Impression Obsession. A little flower was added for detail and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Floral Koala Card - TMS #555

Good day and welcome back to the start of our new sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches! This weeks sketch is designed by Melissa Craig and I decided to play with patterned paper on my Floral Koala Card. I had some scraps of paper that coordinated with the floral background paper which created a really colorful card. The koala image is by Whipper Snapper Designs and was colored with Copic markers. We would love to see how you use the sketch this week! For all the design team inspiration and challenge details click HERE. Don't forget to link your creation by 8 pm EST on Sunday. Many Thanks Card - TMS #553

Welcome back to the start of a new sketch challenge today at Tuesday Morning Sketches. The sketch was designed by Melissa Craig and I had a lot of fun creating this Many Thanks Card. I took the opportunity to use a very neglected stamp set called Swirly Bird, it's now retired by Stampin' Up! and I had only used it once. The coordinating Swirly Scribbles die worked perfectly for the circle element of the sketch. We would love for you to join us this week! Violet Thanks Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share this Violet Thanks Card I made using the Stella Says Sketch #809 challenge. Purple and green are my favorite colors and I love it when they are paired together. The Violet Watering Can image is digital and it's by Bugaboo Stamps and was colored with Copic markers. All the papers were sitting on my craft desk from other recent cards. You really can't go wrong with gingham and polka dots! The thanks sentiment is retired by Stampin' Up! and that's it. So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Pretty Squirrel Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share this Pretty Squirrel Card I made. It features the Nibbles stamp by Unity Stamps and was colored with Copic markers. I adore squirrels and find them to be very entertaining! This card along with a donation will be sent to a local wildlife rehab facility called Wild Heart Ranch. They raise hundreds of orphaned or injured squirrels every year. I've been to their facility a few times and I truly admire the work they do for the wild critters. Beautiful Day Card

Hope you're having a Beautiful Day! Since Mother's Day will be here in a few weeks, I decided to start making a few card options. I recently purchased the new Cheerful Daisies stamp set by Sunny Studio Stamps and decided to use it to create this Beautiful Day Card. It was a lot of fun stamping all the images once I found the ink colors I wanted to use. The flower colors were inspired by a Gerber Daisy plant I rescued last year. Ink colors include: Guava by Lawn Fawn, Flirty Flamingo by Stampin' Up!, Sunflower by Lawn Fawn, Crushed Curry by Stampin' Up!, Jalapeno by Lawn Fawn and Call Me Clover by Stampin' Up!. The sentiment stamp is from the WPlus 9 Doodle Buds stamp set and the lattice background is from a Sunny Studio die called Frilly Frames Lattice. A little butterfly was added for extra detail and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping.

So glad you stopped by!

Happy Cake Day Card

Hello and happy Saturday! The sun is shining here and it looks like it's going to be a nice day. Our state is still under a shelter in place order, so I haven't left the house much lately. The hubby will take me on a drive for a few miles to get some sunshine but that's about it. Hopefully you are doing well!

This Happy Cake Day Card was made with my nieces in mind. Fun bright colors and a cute cat eating cake, because birthdays are all about the cake. The stamp set is called Newton Loves Cake by Newton's Nook and Copic markers were used to color the image. After coloring the images the coordinating dies were used to cut out them out. The background papers are from the Summer Splash paper pad by Pink & Main, three 1 1/4" circles were added along with a little strip of green scrap paper for extra detail. That's it! Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Floral Congratulations Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share this Floral Congratulations Card I made this afternoon. Hopefully I'll have a reason to use it sometime soon. The Knock on Wood challenge at Simon Says stamp is what prompted the design. I used patterned paper from the Pretty Things paper pad by MME and Old Olive cardstock by Stampin' Up! for the matting. The flowers are from the Everything is Rosy stamp set by Stampin' Up! and were die cut with the coordinating dies. Ink colors include: So Saffron, Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake and Old Olive. The congratulations sentiment is from Impression Obsession and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Challenges entered: C.R.A.F.T. (Create Your Own Embellishment/Flower) and Simon Says (Knock On Wood).

Sympathy Card with Flowers

Good day! Last week my uncle's mother passed away, so I made this card to send. It's a little more colorful than I normally make for a sympathy card but I wanted to use a grouping of flowers with the iris. Copic markers were used to color the flowers and the coordinating die cuts used to cut them out. The iris is by Divinity Designs and the remainder of the flowers are from the retired Falling Flowers stamp set by Stampin' Up!. A little stamped butterfly was added and the sympathy sentiment and that's it. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. Thanks for stopping by!

Animal Pile Up Easter Cards

Hello and happy Easter! This week went by really fast and I didn't have time to share all the Easter cards I made. I'm sharing three cards in this post and they all feature the Spring Pile Up image by Newton's Nook. Copic markers were used to color the images and then they were die cut using the coordinating die. The Happy Easter die cut sentiment (pictured below) is from the coordinating die set. When making my cards I rarely make two exactly the same. I always change the papers and colors to make them look different. However, when pressed for time I will use the same layout over and over. For these Animal Pile Up Easter Cards I did take some extra time and created different layouts. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

EGG-cellent Easter Card

Happy Easter! Today I'm sharing the card I made for my four year old nephew. He currently loves dinosaurs, so I found this cute dinosaur image on Etsy by Mystitchbackintwine. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was fussy-cut. The EGG-cellent Easter sentiment was made with the computer and the patterned papers are from the Dino Friends paper pad by Echo Park (2016). It's definitely a non-traditional Easter card but he loved it and that's what matters. Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!

Newton's Rain Boots Card

Hello! This week is going by really fast and I realized I still needed to make my card for the Inky Paws sketch challenge. So, this morning I colored this Newton's Rain Boots image and made this card. The papers are from one of my favorite Doodlebug Designs paper pads called Hello Sunshine (2014). I loved it so much I bought three of them. To color the image I used Copic markers in colors to coordinate with the paper. For the sentiment I decided to use a Thinking of You stamp from the Woodland Spring stamp set by Newton's Nook. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it.

The As You Like It Challenge this week is: Animals or People - which is your favourite and why? My answer is animals, because they make me smile. Most my cards have cute critters and I rarely use images with people on my cards. My stash is full of cute critter images and I always notice cards created by others with cute critters. So, animals win! 🐼😺🐰

Bunny Friends Easter Card

Happy Wednesday! Over the next few days I'll be sharing the rest of the Easter cards I made. They have all been mailed and I'm happy to say I reached my goal of 15 cards. 😊 I'm hoping they will bring a few smiles during this stay at home order we are under right now.

This Bunny Friends Easter Card features an image by Gerda Steiner. The design is simple and easy! Copic markers were used to color the image and then a stitched square die was used to cut it out. The sentiment is by Unity Stamps from the Bunny- Keep You Forever sentiment kit. A little yellow butterfly was added for detail and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!
