Turtley Awesome Card

Good day crafty friends! It's been a few weeks since I've played in my craft room. At the end of June, I broke a lower wisdom tooth and had to have it removed. It went well, but I sure hope I don't have to do that again.

Today, I finally felt like crafting again, so I made this Turtley Awesome Card. The images and sentiment are by Gerda Steiner. To color the images Copic markers were used and a dab of glossy accents added to the turtles eyes. The floral paper is from the Lots of Love paper pad by Doodlebug Design. The background behind the turtles was made using Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint. Everything was adhered flat and that's it. So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day!🐢

Happy Place Card

Good day! There are only a couple of days left to play along in the current Inky Paws color challenge. The challenge colors are: Royal Blue, Olive Green, Sunshine Yellow and White. It took me awhile to decide what stamp set to use and I finally decided on Newton's Birdhouse. Our cats love to watch the birds and I started feeding birds to attract the American Goldfinch, one of my favorite birds. So, I colored the little birds yellow and the cat was colored to look like my sweet boy Mr. Tommy. The sky and grass background was made using the ink smooshing technique and the layout is one I have used before. I love the sentiment "Find your happy place!" My happy place is with Mr. Tommy, he is such a handsome and good boy, he always puts a smile on my face. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Card with Chickadee

Hello! I adore Chickadees, they are just the cutest little birds. They like to frequent the bird feeders in my backyard. Usually, I will hear them before I see them. They have a very distinctive call. So, inspired by these cute backyard birds, I decided to recreate a card I made in 2021. You can find the original HERE

To play along with a few winter blues challenges, I used blue plaid paper. The Chickadee stamp and branch is from the Spring Birds stamp set by Simon Says Stamp. Copic markers were used to color the images and then they were die cut with the coordinating dies. The Chickadee was placed over a cut out made using a stitched peek-a-boo window die by My Favorite Things. Lastly, the sentiment from Verve Stamps was added and everything was layered onto a piece of black cardstock. That's it! So glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Hummingbird Card

Hello and thanks for stopping by my blog. Today I'm sharing this Hummingbird Card that I made using the colors from the Inky Paws challenge. The colors are: Black, Pink, Green and Gray. To create this card I used three different stamp sets, but the main images are from the Hummingbird stamp set by Newton's Nook. All images were colored with Copic markers and then die cut with the coordinating dies. I ended up using very little black, the images are stamped with black Memento ink. The only coloring with black is the little snail in the bottom corner. Some light gray splatters were stamped in the background and then everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. That's it! Wishing you a wonderful day!  🌸

Life Stinks Card

Well... life doesn't stink all the time, but we all have those days. The new card kit by Stampin' Up! called The Best Remedy Kit is perfect for last minute feel better/encouragement type cards. I don't buy a lot of kits because I like creating my own designs. But, it's nice to have a few on hand for unexpected occasions. For this Life Stinks Card I altered the layout given in the directions. The only thing stamped on this card is the sentiment. The image came colored, so all I really had to do is adhere everything together. Simple and quick. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

The card drive is for women going through treatments and you can find all the details HERE. This Sending Thoughts Card features some pretty flower stamps from the Spring Flowers stamp set by Pretty Pink Posh. The images were colored with Copic markers to coordinate with the Echo Park patterned paper from the Have Faith paper pad (2018). The sentiment is retired Stampin' Up! from the Perfect Pennants stamps set. Everything was adhered flat and that's it. So glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Good Thoughts Card

Hello! Thanks for stopping by to check out this Good Thoughts Card. This card was made for my mother-in-law. She is a two time breast cancer survivor with her first diagnosis over 20 years ago. Recently she had some tests done and found out she has bone cancer. It's a very difficult time for her, so I just wanted to make her something pretty. 🦋

The floral oval stamp is from Newton's Nook, it was colored with Copic markers then was fussy cut and matted to a die cut scalloped oval. A yellow butterfly from the Monarch stamp set by Newton's Nook was added. The sentiment is very retired from the the Perfect Pennants stamp set by Stampin' Up!. Everything was adhered flat to a piece of striped paper and that's it. Thanks again for stopping by!

Hello and happy Sunday! It's super hot outside today, so I am staying inside and playing in my craft room. My focus is still on making cards for a card drive for women going through treatments. For this Hope Card with Feathers I used some older supplies that had never been used. Everything used is from different companies, but I was really happy with how well things coordinated. The sentiment stamp is from Stampendous!, the feathers are from the Four Feathers stamp set by Stampin' Up! and the patterned paper is from a Recollections paper pad. Everything was adhered flat and that's it. I'm entering this card into the following challenges: Crafts Galore Encore (anything goes) and We Love Stamping (anything goes with roses option). Some stamped splatters were added using the retired Gorgeous Grunge stamp set by Stampin' Up! along with Pool Party ink. The layers were cut using the Scallops & Rectangles die set by Unity Stamps. A little butterfly was added for detail and that's it. If you have some spare time I would like to encourage you to make cards for this card drive. Butterfly Card with Foil

Good day! We are getting some rain today, so I've postponed my Monday errands. Instead, I'm sharing this Butterfly Card with Foil that I finally finished. The butterfly design is a toner card front from Unity Stamps and I used distress inks to color, then wiped it well with a paper towel before foiling. To finish the card I added a purple embossed strip and one day at a time sentiment and that's it. I'm entering this card into the Beyond The Blue, Foiled Again! challenge. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!🦋

Feminine Strong Card

Good day! The sun is shining today but it's still really cold outside. So, I thought I would share this Feminine Strong Card with you. I've used this sentiment from Unity Stamps before on a masculine card. It's a sentiment that really resonates with me! The background paper is from the Pretty Thing paper pad by MME (2019) with a little bit of Bo Bunny damask peeking out from under the sentiment. A layered butterfly from my extra stash was added and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

HAPPY Place Card

Oh... it's been a long week! My crafty mojo hasn't been great lately, so it has taken me several days to make this HAPPY Place Card. The Yoga Cat image is from Stampendous! and it does put a smile on my face. It was colored with Copic markers to coordinate with the colors in the Doodlebug Design paper. The plaid is from the Love Notes paper pad and the tiny floral is from the Floral-Graph petite prints paper pad. I made the sentiment with the computer and added a stamped flower from the Fab Flowers stamp set by Lawn Fawn. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!🏵

Support Card

Good day! This afternoon I saw the challenge at Simon Says is Fun With Stencils, so I decided to play along. I used the Tumbling Leaves stencil with distress inks in Bundled Sage and Speckled Egg by Ranger/Tim Holtz. The stencil was used directly onto a piece of white brick paper by The Paper Studio and it was matted to a piece of retired Baha Breeze cardstock by Stampin' Up!. The One Day at a Time sentiment is from Verve Stamps and two little butterflies were added from my stash. That's it! So glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Darkness Card - TMS #634

Well... it's time to say goodbye to November and it was a really rough month for me. Taking care of my hubby after his ankle reconstruction was a lot of hard work and sleepless nights. We go back to the doctor today and hopefully he will be able to put weight on his foot and walk again. I'm certainly ready to get back to a normal routine.

I'm pretty sure I made this Darkness Card for myself using this weeks sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. The sketch is designed by Melissa Craig and I used it for a mini slimline card which is 3.5" x 6". The sentiment is from Unity Stamps and it's called A Certain Darkness. Some stars were stamped and heat embossed with Wow! Glow-in-the-Dark embossing powder along with punched stars for the sketch detail. The star paper is from a Halloween paper pad and everything was adhered flat. Well, we would love for you to join us this week. Sunflower Perch Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share a card I made using the Sunflower Perch stamp by Stampendous!. It was a lot of fun coloring this image with Copic markers. The bird was colored to look like a House Finch, we have several that visit the feeders in our backyard. The sentiment stamp is by Jaded Blossom from the Birds of a Feather stamp set. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

This weeks sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches is a break from the normal A2 card. It's a Mini Slimline Card sketch designed by me. The dimensions are 3.5" x 6". I do hope you will give it a try and join us this week. I'm giving away a prize of 6 colored mini slimline envelopes by Taylored Expressions to a random player. OMG Card - TMS #599

Hello! Can you believe it's the last Tuesday of the month? March just flew by! I hope you will have time to play along with us this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks sketch was designed by me and I would love to see how you use it! My card was made for my niece who is a junior in high school. She recently received a couple of leadership honors and a card was definitely needed. I used the fun OMG stamp set by Reverse Confetti along with the coordinating die. Her school colors are red, black and white, so I tried to stick as close to those colors as possible. I went through every paper pad I had until I found the star paper from an American Crafts paper pad called Little by Little (2016). It has extra colors, but I thought it worked well. 😊 The design team did a fantastic job and you can click HERE to see their work and all the challenge details. I hope you're inspired to join us this week and don't forget to link your card by 8 pm EST on Sunday. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Tiny Miracles Card

Good day! I have a quick post to share my latest card. This Tiny Miracles Card features new butterfly goodies from Stampin' Up!. I love butterflies! The patterned paper is a new 6x6 dsp called Butterfly Bijou and it's pretty enough to be used alone if you wanted to just add a sentiment. I went through my scraps and found the stripe and the tiny miracles sentiment (Unity Stamps) that was already stamped on a piece of paper that kind of matches (it's definitely not perfect but I was crafting at night 😊). Then I stamped the butterfly from the new Butterfly Brilliance stamp set and colored it with Mango Melody Stampin' Blends. That's it! I'm entering this card at the Watercooler Wednesday All Things Feminine Challenge. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Strong Card - TMS #592

Hello! It's time to start another revisited sketch from 2020 this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches we are playing with Patti's favorite sketch. It was originally posted on August 11, 2020 and it's one I designed. The first time around my card was girly, so this time I went masculine. This Strong Card features a piece of woodgrain paper to signify something strong along with the sentiment from Unity Stamps called Strong is your only choice. Some blue polka dot paper from my scrap bin was added along with the three circle elements and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. That's it! We would love for you to join us this week!
