Thinking of You Card

Good day! The month of May is almost over and I'm dreading the return of hot weather. I'll be a hermit in my house for the months of June-August. Many people enjoy the hot weather, but I'm not one of them. Every summer I'm thankful for central air conditioning! I truly need to move to a cooler climate. 😊

Since the Emerald is the birthstone for May, I wanted to make a card using green to close out the month. The layout is from this weeks sketch at Tuesday Morning sketches. I picked a patterned paper from the Jack and Jill paper pad by Echo Park (2015). A small floral stamp by Altenew called Wonder Clusters was stamped and colored with Copic markers. The coordinating die was used to cut it out. A Thinking of You sentiment by Taylored Expressions was stamped and die cut with a stitched circle die. The final addition was the little yellow butterfly that was in my stash and everything was adhered flat. That's it and thanks for stopping by. Butterfly Thinking of You Card

Hello! As it gets warmer outside, I've noticed a few butterflies fluttering around my yard. We don't spray chemicals on our backyard, so the butterflies and bees have a few things to feed on until I plant flowers. 🌼

To create this Butterfly Thinking of You Card I used the sketch from the Inky Paws Challenge. I added some blue to play the option at Crafty Catz and three butterflies to play along at Triple B. The butterfly images are from the retiring Beautiful Wings stamp set by Newton's Nook. Floral paper from the My Favorite Summer paper pad by Echo Park was selected. Some twine was added to go along with the sketch and that's it. So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day.🦋

Pink Bunny Card

Good day! Outside my house the ground is covered in a layer of sleet. That has me staying indoors today. So, I thought I would share with you another card I recreated. This Pink Bunny Card features an image from Unity Stamps called Dottie Bunny. I originally made a similar card in March 2021 and you can see it HERE. The patterned papers are from the Everyday paper pad by Pebbles (2015). This time I moved the sentiment over a little and added two pink hearts. Everything was adhered flat and that's it. Cottage Rose Card

Good day! I appreciate you stopping by my blog. Today I'm sharing this Cottage Rose Card that I made for a family friend. I was inspired by a card I found online by Stamping With Kristi. All supplies on this card are by Stampin' Up!. Almost everything is current except for the sentiment from the retired Thoughtful Branches stamp set. Colors include: Petal Pink, Soft Suede, Granny Apple Green and a touch of Mango Melody in the center of the flower. The paper is from the Abigail Rose dsp and the flower stamp is from the Cottage Rose stamp set. The Cottage Flower dies were used and everything was adhered flat. That's it! Newton's Support Cards

A happy hello! Today I have a quick post to share two cards I made using the Newton's Support stamp set by Newton's Nook. They are for a card drive for women going through treatments, you can find the card drive details HERE. These days I enjoy making cards with a purpose and this card drive is a great purpose. Dogwood Birds Card

Hello and happy Wednesday! I have a quick post to share this Dogwood Birds Card. When the Dogwood Trees are in bloom they are very pretty. So, I thought this Dogwood Birds stamp by Stampendous! was perfect for a Spring card. The image was stamped with Memento black ink and then colored with Copic markers. Then the image was layered onto a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock* and then adhered to a piece of floral paper from the Cottage Meadow paper pad by Memory Box. The Thinking of You sentiment is very retired from Stampin' Up! (Wetlands stamp set) and it was punched with an oval punch and layered onto a Granny Apple Green cardstock* punched scalloped oval. Hello! Can you believe it's the middle of August already? The days just keep flying by. Bunny Thinking of You Card

Good day! It's been gloomy outside today, so I stayed in my craft room and played. This Bunny Thinking of You Card is what I made. It features the Dottie Bunny stamp set from Unity Stamps and it was colored pink with Copic markers (RV11 & RV32). The patterned papers are from the Shine On paper pad by Amy Tangerine (American Crafts/2018) and that's it.

Thinking of You Card

Hooray for Friday! This week I received my new Paper Pumpkin kit in the mail and it's called Bouquet of Hope. So, I thought I would end the month sharing this Thinking of You Card that I made using the kit. The kit comes with directions, but I revised one of the designs and did my own thing. I don't use vellum very often and the pieces provided are lovely. Since there is no stamping (floral images are provided in the kit) on this card it came together pretty quickly. Butterfly Wreath Card

Hello! After all the cold weather and snow we've had lately I'm ready for Spring. The blooming trees, flowers and eventually the return of the butterflies. 🦋🦋🦋 Something to look forward too during these lonely days at home.

To make this Butterfly Wreath Card I used an image by Reverse Confetti and it was colored with Copic markers. Once the image was colored it was die cut with the coordinating die. I love using gingham, so I found a tiny check that worked well. A piece of white cardstock was embossed and layered on top of the gingham. The image and sentiment were adhered flat and that's it. On My Mind Card with Bear

Hello! This evening I made this On My Mind Card with Bear to send to a friend who lost her mother a couple of months ago. I sent a sympathy card but I think it's important to reach out again after all the shock has worn off and the true grieving starts. 

This card was made using the December 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit called Beary Comforting. The layout was created using parts of the kit and adding a matting piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock. Purple Flower Card

Hello and happy Friday! While recently cleaning my crafty space I got distracted with a stencil. It was found between some patterned papers which wasn't where it belonged. Earlier I had found this purple flower and it was already colored just waiting to be used. So, I made a quick background and created this Purple Flower Card. The flower is from a retired stamp set by Stampin' Up! called You've Got This and it was colored with Copic markers. A thinking of you sentiment and a blue butterfly from my stash were added and this card came together quickly. Beary Comforting Card

Well... it's finally time to say good riddance to 2020! Many are hoping for a better New Year and I pray that happens. It's been hard not being able to see my family, especially when my dad has had such an awful year. He's had numerous medical issues come up throughout the year. Several years ago he lost hearing in one ear. On Christmas morning he woke up and couldn't hear at all. This week he has been dizzy and having headaches. He went to a specialist and will have further tests, but he is frustrated and in pain. It's really hard when there isn't anything you can do to make things better. Hopefully I can make the trip to see him soon.

This Beary Comforting Card has already been mailed to my dad. The supplies and design are from the December Paper Pumpkin kit by Stampin' Up! called Beary Comforting. Thinking of You Cards

In these crazy times it's nice to take time and send cards for no particular reason. That's why I love having Thinking of You Cards in my stash. Recently a friend asked me to make her a couple and these are the two cards I made for her. I ended up using patterned paper from two different Bo Bunny paper pads along with some Doodlebug Designs striped paper. It's hard for me to cover up pretty papers, so I used layouts that let the papers be the star of the card. 

Does anyone have advice for getting die cuts to release better? The fancy die cut I used with the jade green paper on the first card does not want to release the small curved areas in the middle and side. The first one I made looked much worse, the second attempt was better but if you look close you can tell it's not as smooth as it should be. Anyway... any good advice is welcome.

Yellow Butterfly Blossoms Card

Good day! Before I get to my card I have a question for you... have you ever spent time looking for something you swear you have, but it turns out you never purchased it? I looked for a Thinking of You die that I would have bet money I had, only to realize I never bought it. I gave up and looked through my order history at Simon Says Stamp and it wasn't there. I looked through my stash of cards I've made and there is no evidence I ever used it, so I must have dreamed I bought it.  😕

Onto this Yellow Butterfly Blossoms Card that I made using the Butterfly Blossoms stamp by Reverse Confetti. Last year I planted a butterfly bush by my back porch and I've had a lot of butterflies in my yard the last few weeks. When I look out the window it's fun to watch them and I love the big yellow ones! They were the inspiration for this card. I decided to use blue for the background paper and searched through my stash to find the Genevieve Collection paper pad by Bo Bunny (2015). A Thinking of You stamp by Momenta was used to finish the card and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. My grandmother is in a memory care facility and I send her cards, although I don't know if she remembers me at this point. It was last year at Thanksgiving when I saw her last. This Covid pandemic has prevented family from normal visits. Thankfully she is in a good facility and they are staying healthy. I'll be sending this card to her. Thanks for stopping by!

Newton's Rain Boots Card

Hello! This week is going by really fast and I realized I still needed to make my card for the Inky Paws sketch challenge. So, this morning I colored this Newton's Rain Boots image and made this card. The papers are from one of my favorite Doodlebug Designs paper pads called Hello Sunshine (2014). I loved it so much I bought three of them. To color the image I used Copic markers in colors to coordinate with the paper. For the sentiment I decided to use a Thinking of You stamp from the Woodland Spring stamp set by Newton's Nook. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it.

The As You Like It Challenge this week is: Animals or People - which is your favourite and why? My answer is animals, because they make me smile. Most my cards have cute critters and I rarely use images with people on my cards. My stash is full of cute critter images and I always notice cards created by others with cute critters. So, animals win! 🐼😺🐰

Fall Floral Thinking of You Card

Hello! There are many times in life that a Thinking of You Card is needed. This Fall Floral Thinking of You Card was made for my grandmother. She has dementia and the last month has been really rough for her. Yesterday I went through all of my cards and none of them were what I wanted to send, so I made this one special for her.💜

A couple of years ago I saw a card by Nancy Leedy and fell in love with the colors and floral arrangement. She used the Birthday Blooms stamp set with the leaves from the Colorful Seasons stamp set both by Stampin' Up!. I would have never thought of combining the two stamp sets without seeing her card. It's taken me a couple of years to use the two together but I'm really happy with how it turned out. Now I have the perfect card for my grandmother.
