The new colors include: Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink, Tranquil Tide and Fresh Fig. To add some more stamping details the Timeless Textures stamp set was also used. Special Day Dragonfly Card

Hello and happy March 1st! It's time to break away from those red and pink colors and go for some green. I was glad to see a few green challenges already started. This card is entered into the SU-Only Challenge and Crafty Cardmakers Challenge to use green.

All supplies used for this Special Day Dragonfly Card are from Stampin' Up!. I love all shades of green, so it was hard to pick. The patterned paper from the Blooms & Bliss DSP was the inspiration to use Mint Macaroon. All stamps and dragonfly die cut are from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and Detailed Dragonfly Thinlit Dies (bundle #144728). The layout is simple and one I've made before using different colors, you can see it HERE. It's fun to make similar cards in different colors to see the difference color makes. To finish the card three retired Pistachio Pudding sequins were adhered for a little sparkle. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Dragonfly Dreams Card

There is a thin blanket of snow on the ground which makes for a great day to stay inside and make cards. I've been playing with the new stamp set by Stampin' Up! called Dragonfly Dreams and coordinating Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits. The patterned paper is from the new Cupcakes and Carousels paper stack. Colors on this card include: Whisper White, So Saffron and Calypso Coral with Memento black ink on sentiment. Some clear Wink of Stella was added to the dragonfly wings and three retired Crisp Cantaloupe sequins were added for sparkle. Pretty simple but I really like how it turned out. The hardest part was gluing the tiny white cardstock pieces into the die cut design. I was trying to be really careful with the glue and a huge drop came out, luckily it's not noticeable. It never fails when I try to be careful that's when something weird happens. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!!!

Dragonfly Special Day Card

Hello crafty friends, it's been awhile since my last post. My hubby was off for two weeks during Christmas and the New Year and finally went back to work this morning. It was nice having him around but there was definitely no crafting time while he was home.

This afternoon I had time to play with some new products from the Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog that launched today. I placed a small pre-order before the holidays with a couple of my new favorites. The Dragonfly Dreams Bundle (144728) along with the Cupcakes & Carousels paper pad (142744). I'm a sucker for anything argyle and was happy to see this patterned paper. I kept the card simple and did some layered stamping along with three Bermuda Bay sequins. I kept thinking I had Bermuda Bay sequins but couldn't find them, finally I remembered it was sequin trim (137910) and it was hiding in a drawer. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Dragonfly Waterlily Card

Happy Tuesday! It's true what they say, "time flies when you're having fun!" The last two weeks went by super fast and it's already the second week of May, geez. Do you ever wish you could hit a "pause" button?

Today is the start of a new challenge at Tuesday Throwdown and the theme this week is Thinking of You. I like making Thinking of You cards! The sentiment is very versatile when used on the outside of a card. The inside can still say "on your birthday" or "on your graduation," so use your imagination when creating your Thinking of You creation. We are sponsored this week by CraftyGirl Creations found at Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet. My card features the Dragonfly Waterlily image and it was colored with Copic markers. To play along in the challenge create a new card or paper creation using the Thinking of You theme and link your project by mid-day Monday, May 16th. Click here for all the wonderful design team inspiration and challenge details.
