Hey Birthday Chick Card

Happy Friday! Today kicks off the start to my birthday weekend. So I made this Hey Birthday Chick Card to celebrate. The layout design for this card was inspired by a card I found while searching online for a fun layout and you can see it HERE. I was immediately drawn to the purple and green colors she used, which are my favorites, but I wanted mine to look different. It's been awhile since I got a little fussy with a card, so this one has several layers, stitching and a single flower embellishment. I contemplated several color combinations but decided the pinks and greens looked pretty with the yellow chick from the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set by Unity Stamps. The image was colored with Copic makers and most of the patterned papers are from the Spring Fling paper pad by Pebbles (2015). Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Hatching Chick Easter Card

Hello and happy Monday! This week I'm working on making my Easter Cards. I usually mail about a dozen cards and after making this Hatching Chick Easter Card I still need nine more. I usually make at least two of each design, sometimes more. The most time consuming part for me is picking papers and deciding on the design. Making duplicate cards goes much quicker!

This cute hatching chick image is by Angie's Digital Stamps and it was colored with Copic markers. It was a challenge finding the right papers for the image colors. I colored the image last year and used colors I liked without having a paper in mind. Usually when I color my images I pick the papers first and it's a lot easier that way. So, after going through every piece of patterned paper I own... this is what I decided on. The yellow polka dot is by The Paper Studio, the floral is by Recollecions (Happy Bouquet) and the purple stripe is by Echo Park. To add the embellishments I went through my stash of already stamped and punched/die cut flowers and butterflies and found these that matched well. The Happy Easter sentiment is from the $2 bin at Michael's and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Lots of Green at Simply Create Too

The month of March is well on it's way and this month is notorious for shamrocks, leprechauns and the color green. Although St. Patrick's Day is not celebrated by everyone, we would love to see Lots of Green in your crafty creations for the challenge at Simply Create Too. The challenge is open for a month, so you have until March 31st to link your creation. Click here to enter the challenge and for all the lovely green inspiration from the design team.

When deciding on the occasion for this card I considered making a St. Patrick's Day card because I do mail a few. However, I send a lot more Easter cards and really wanted to use the hatching chick image by Angie's Stamps. The image was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with a stitched circle die by My Favorite Things. After searching through patterned papers I decided on the small green floral paper by American Crafts from their Heartland Farm collection. To add some contrast I used some Garden Green patterned paper by Stampin' Up! accented with a white scalloped die cut edgelit. The Easter Wishes sentiment is by Studio G and has been in my stash for many years. To finish off the card I added a paper flower with leaves cut with a Cricut machine and a bitty butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set by Stampin' Up! accented with three small pearls. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see your creation in the gallery at Simply Create Too.

Sweet Chick Easter Card

Hello! I hope you are having a lovely day! This morning I ignored a few chores to spend some time in my craft room. It's "justifiable" since I have several more Easter cards I need to make. Right? Over the weekend I was going through a stack of printed digital images and found this Sweet Chick already cut out, matted and ready to use. The image is by Fred She Said and came pre-colored. The patterned papers are from DCWV and the Happy Easter sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set by Stampin' Up! This Sweet Chick Easter Card is my favorite from the Easter cards I've made this year. I love the yellow, purple and green together! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Simple Easter Card

Last night I finished all the Easter cards I needed to make. The last card I created was this Simple Easter Card. There are no fancy embellishments but I LOVE it! I added stitching to give it a little more detail but with the gingham checks it's a little hard to see. The finished size is 4" x 5.5". Thanks for stopping by!

Simple Easter Card Supplies: White and lilac card stock by Core'dinations, Gumball Green card stock by Stampin' Up!, and Green Gingham patterned paper by Paper Pizazz. Easter Chicky pre-coloured digital stamp by Fred She Said. Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, modern label punch, and word window punch all by Stampin' Up!

Easter Greetings Card

Well, another weekend bites the dust. We did go to the movies to see OZ The Great and Powerful. It was definitely worth the price of a ticket. The colours and visual effects were beautiful. I didn't read the reviews or spoilers before I watched it, I just went and enjoyed the story.

To finish off my weekend I made this Easter Greetings Card using a sketch from the Come and Get It challenge. The sponsor for this challenge is Fred She Said, so I popped over to their site and purchased this adorable Easter Chicky pre-colored digital stamp. I just loved it the second I saw it and couldn't wait to make this card. Well, thanks for stopping by and have a terrific week!
