Happy Cake Day Card
Hello and happy Saturday! The sun is shining here and it looks like it's going to be a nice day. Our state is still under a shelter in place order, so I haven't left the house much lately. The hubby will take me on a drive for a few miles to get some sunshine but that's about it. Hopefully you are doing well!
This Happy Cake Day Card was made with my nieces in mind. Fun bright colors and a cute cat eating cake, because birthdays are all about the cake. The stamp set is called Newton Loves Cake by Newton's Nook and Copic markers were used to color the image. After coloring the images the coordinating dies were used to cut out them out. The background papers are from the Summer Splash paper pad by Pink & Main, three 1 1/4" circles were added along with a little strip of green scrap paper for extra detail. That's it! Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Animal Pile Up Easter Cards
Hello and happy Easter! This week went by really fast and I didn't have time to share all the Easter cards I made. I'm sharing three cards in this post and they all feature the Spring Pile Up image by Newton's Nook. Copic markers were used to color the images and then they were die cut using the coordinating die. The Happy Easter die cut sentiment (pictured below) is from the coordinating die set. When making my cards I rarely make two exactly the same. I always change the papers and colors to make them look different. However, when pressed for time I will use the same layout over and over. For these Animal Pile Up Easter Cards I did take some extra time and created different layouts. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Newton's Rain Boots Card
Hello! This week is going by really fast and I realized I still needed to make my card for the Inky Paws sketch challenge. So, this morning I colored this Newton's Rain Boots image and made this card. The papers are from one of my favorite Doodlebug Designs paper pads called Hello Sunshine (2014). I loved it so much I bought three of them. To color the image I used Copic markers in colors to coordinate with the paper. For the sentiment I decided to use a Thinking of You stamp from the Woodland Spring stamp set by Newton's Nook. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it.
The As You Like It Challenge this week is: Animals or People - which is your favourite and why? My answer is animals, because they make me smile. Most my cards have cute critters and I rarely use images with people on my cards. My stash is full of cute critter images and I always notice cards created by others with cute critters. So, animals win! πΌπΊπ°

Newton's Peeps Easter Card
Hello! I have a quick post to share this Newton's Peeps Easter Card that I made for the current color challenge at Inky Paws. Using pastels is always a challenge for me, but I managed to use the colors and even denied my temptation to use green. π The stamps on this card are from the Newton's Peeps stamp set by Newton's Nook and Copic markers were used to color the images. To make the scalloped background I used the Flags and Frames die set by Newton's Nook along with a piece of Daffodil Delight gingham paper by Stampin' Up!. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. I'm glad you stopped by and I hope you and your family are staying well during this crazy virus pandemic.

Card using Butterfly Blossoms
Hello! I'm still playing along with the 30 Day Coloring Challenge, it's been good therapy for me. This butterfly is what I colored last night. It's from the Butterfly Blossoms stamp set by Reverse Confetti and it was colored with Copic markers. The coordinating dies were used to cut it out and then it was adhered to a white die cut panel that was adhered to a polka dot scalloped die cut panel from the Newton's Nook Frames & Flags die set. Two banners anchored with flowers add more detail and the one day at a time sentiment is by Verve Stamps. The sentiment reflects how I'm living my life since my brother passed away in December. Every day is a challenge and one day at a time is about all I can do. I'm glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Some Bunny Special Card
Hello! The sun is out and it's a beautiful day. After I share this Some Bunny Special Card I'm headed outside to enjoy the sunshine. π This card features a new bunny stamp by Newton's Nook from the Hop Into Spring stamp set. Copic markers were used to color the image to coordinate with the patterned paper from the Girl Squad paper pad by Pebbles (2017). Then the coordinating die was used to cut it out. Can you tell I smeared the sentiment a little around the word special? It was already adhered to the floral paper, so I left it. Three yellow butterflies were added, they were stamped using the Newton's Birdbath stamp set. That's it! Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of the day!

Spring Deer So Kind Card
Hello! I have a quick post to share this Spring Deer So Kind Card that I made using the sketch from the current Inky Paws #117 sketch challenge. The image is from the Woodland Spring stamp set and the sentiment is from the Little Lilies stamp set both by Newton's Nook. I really adore the Woodland Spring stamp set and I'm ready for the spring flowers to emerge from this dull winter landscape. To color the image I used Copic markers and the coordinating dies were used to cut out the images. All of the patterned papers are from the new Love Notes paper pad by Doodlebug Designs. Some Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint distress ink was added to the tag using sponge daubers before adhering the images and everything was adhered flat. I'm also entering the card into the Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes challenge, The Sisterhood of Crafters Patterned Paper challenge and the Watercooler Wednesday All About Occasions challenge. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Your Day Card - TMS #543
Good day crafty friends! We have a new sketch this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches and this one is by Debbie Foster. For my card I mixed some older paper with a new stamp. The stamp set is by Newton's Nook and it's called Dainty Daisies. Copic markers were used to color the image and then the coordinating die cuts were used to cut it out. The biggest debate was over which color of cardstock to use for matting the patterned paper. After consulting my hubby I was persuaded to go with the Tangerine Tango rather than black or mossy green. There are no embellishments, just simple and easy this week. We would love for you to play along! Just make a card using the sketch and link your creation by 8 pm EST on Sunday. Click HERE for all the details and design team inspiration. I'm linking this Your Day Card to the Crafting Happiness anything goes challenge with flowers option. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Had Me at Meow Card
Hello! Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I always save making my hubby's card for last. That way I'm not tempted to give it to him super early. This Had Me at Meow Card is the card I made him. It's purple, which is my favorite color, and it features cats from the Newton's Sweetheart stamp set. The kitties were colored to look like our first two house cats. They are no longer with us and we miss them everyday. The die cut hearts were made using the Stacked Hearts die by Simon Says Stamp. Two patterned papers were used and they were both from my scrap bin. Everything was adhered to a piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock by Stampin' Up and then adhered to the white card base. That's it. So glad you stopped by and I hope you have a lovely Valentine's Day!

All Nine Lives Card
Good day crafty friends! We finally got snow this morning and it's really pretty. Our cats have been glued to the windows because I feed the birds and there have been a ton in the backyard. It's made for a wonderful day to stay inside!
This All Nine Lives Card was made for an anniversary that falls on Valentine's Day. Two Newton's Nook stamp sets were used, Newton's Sweetheart (cats, hearts and sentiment) and Newton's Valentine (little flowers). Copic markers were used to color the images and then they were die cut with the coordinating dies. The grass was die cut using Newton's Land Borders Die. There are small red hearts all over the red paper by Doodlebug Design and a large heart was die cut and then a piece of marble paper adhered behind. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Meow-entine Card
Good day! The month of January is almost over and Valentine's Day will be here soon. I mail a few handmade cards for this day of Love. Mainly to immediate family and a few family friends. This Meow-entine Card was made for one of my nieces. A few challenges were considered when creating this card. I knew I wanted to use the new Newton's Valentine stamp and coordinating dies. The image was colored with Copic markers and some Stickles added to the hearts for sparkle. Some fun patterned papers were mixed for the background and the sentiment was heat embossed onto black cardstock. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Don't Give Up! Card - TMS #536
Hello! For the next few weeks at Tuesday Morning Sketches we will be revisiting our favorite sketches from 2019. This week is my pick and my favorite sketch was from challenge #508 and it was designed by Debbie Foster. To view the original challenge post click HERE. We would love for you to join us this week! For all the challenge details and design team inspiration click HERE. Don't forget to link your creation to the challenge post by Sunday at 8 pm EST.
The stamp set used on this Don't Give Up! Card is called Newton Hangs Out by Newton's Nook. My intent when purchasing this stamp set was to make a card for my brother and he passed away before I got the chance. The stamp set actually arrived in the mail the day he passed away. I left the package unopened for almost a month because it made me sad to think about it. Then I decided to use it and just craft through the tears. It took me hours to make this card, I had to walk away several times but I finally finished. It will be a card I keep and a reminder to myself to never give up or the sentiment I would have used for him "hang in there," which is all I'm doing these days. Thanks for stopping by!

Wishing You Joy Card
On Monday night I started making this Wishing You Joy Card to play along in a few challenges. Then Tuesday my life had a heartbreaking change. We knew my younger brother wasn't doing well and his prognosis was terminal but we thought we had another month or more with him. I made the two hour drive to the hospital and was there when my brother took his last breath. Watching him die has been the hardest thing I've ever done! His suffering is over but our journey of grief has just begun. After losing my younger sister in 2011 my hope was to never go through the loss of a sibling again, now at the age of 45 I'm an only child. My heart is broken all over again. If you believe in the power of prayer, feel free to say a prayer for me and my family. π
Tonight I finished this Wishing You Joy Card featuring an image from the Festive Fawns stamp set by Newton's Nook. It was colored with a mix of Copic and Stampin' Up! markers. The sentiment is from the Poinsettia Blooms stamp set by Newton's Nook. Two die sets by Newton's Nook were also used, the Land Borders set and the Forest Scene Builder set. The purple snowflake paper is from the Altitude Collection by Bo Bunny. To add a little more detail I used a snowflake edge punch by EK Success with white glitter paper for sparkle. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. As always... I'm glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Good day! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day here in the United States, so I would like to say Happy Thanksgiving to all my crafty friends. I feel grateful to have crossed paths with so many wonderful talented individuals through sharing our love of cardmaking. It truly helps me get through some tough times! Wishing each of you a wonderful day whether you live in the United States or abroad.
The image on this Happy Thanksgiving Card is by Newton's Nook from the Autumn Newton stamp set and was colored with Copic markers. A mix of papers were used, the plaid is by Photoplay and the polka dots are by Echo Park. The sentiment was purchased on clearance at Hobby Lobby several months back. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. I'm so glad you stopped by!

Thankful Fox Card
Good day! It's gloomy outside today with overcast skies and scattered showers. So, I've been working on my Thanksgiving cards. I need to mail them on Saturday which means time is running out.
This Thankful Fox Card was made using the sketch from the Inky Paws Challenge. The fox image is from the Harvest Tails stamp set by Newton's Nook and was colored with Copic markers. Patterned papers are from the Fall Market paper pad by Carta Bella with cardstock colors in Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz and Soft Suede by Stampin' Up!. I liked the way Becky Noelle added the die cut sentiment on her card, so I found a thankful die and followed her lead. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. Thanks for stopping by!

Thanksgiving Card - TMS #530
Hello and happy Tuesday! We are starting a new sketch today at Tuesday Morning Sketches and I would love for you to join us this week! I'm using the sketch to make several Thanksgiving cards. It's a pretty simple sketch and easy to make multiples if you're short on time (like I am). The design team used a variety of occasions for their examples. Click HERE for all the inspiration, challenge details and this weeks prize. Just remember to have your creation linked by 8 pm EST on Sunday.
The images on both of these Thanksgiving Cards are by Newton's Nook and were colored with Copic markers. I have fun playing with patterned paper and it's the main reason I started making cards. When I make multiples they are really not the same, because I use different papers. I rarely make two identical cards. Everything on these cards were adhered flat for easy shipping and I chose not to add any embellishments. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Christmas Card with Pink
Happy Friday! I'm so glad you stopped by and I hope all is well in your world. Even though I need to focus on Thanksgiving cards I caved and made a Christmas Card with Pink. The colors were selected to play along with the Inky Paws challenge that closes today. I'm not a big fan of pink, so it usually takes a challenge to make me use it. I figure one of my nieces will get this card for Christmas.
The images and sentiment are from the Festive Fawns stamp set by Newton's Nook. In fact, with the exception of the inks, papers and rectangle die all other supplies used on this card are by Newton's Nook. They include: Forest Scene Builder Die and Land Borders Die. Copic markers were used to color the images and the coordinating die cuts were used with a Big Shot. For the focal panel I did a little ink smooshing using Tumbled Glass distress ink. That's pretty much it! Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. Thanks again for stopping by!

Newton's Thanksgiving Card
Good day crafty friends! Last night I was looking at the calendar and realized I still need to make several Thanksgiving cards to get them mailed in time. I definitely need to focus and stop getting distracted! So, this afternoon I made this Newton's Thanksgiving Card using the photo inspiration from {PIN}spirational as my starting point. The layout was based off a card my Samantha Mann from last years release debut of the Newton's Thanksgiving stamp set. The images were colored with Copic markers and die cut with the coordinating dies. To add some detail I dusted off the sewing machine and added some stitching with ivory thread. That's it! Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!
