Happy Hoppy Halloween!!!

Happy Hoppy Halloween!!! The trick-or-treating has begun and a sugar rush is sure to follow. We always decorate our yard and try to make it fun for the kids. Unfortunately, it is raining and that may keep some of the ghouls and goblins away. That could mean leftover candy... which I'm sure my hubby will have no problem polishing off.

After I mailed my Halloween cards to family and friends, I decided to make one more card using some of the scraps. Everything was laying around my craft desk and the image was already colored. All I had to do was trim a few pieces, die cut the bats, stamp the sentiment and adhere everything together. The orange polka dot paper really soaked up the Memento black ink I used with the sentiment. It started out much darker, but it's much lighter now. Well, that's it! I hope you have a safe and Happy Halloween!

Candy Rabbit Halloween Card

Hello! Hopefully you're having a great week. I'm still working on my Halloween cards so I can get them in the mail on time. To make this Candy Rabbit Halloween Card I used the sketch from the Inky Paws Challenge. The images and sentiment are from the Hoppy Halloween stamp set by Newton's Nook. Since mixing patterned papers is one of my favorite parts about making handmade cards, I used three different papers on this card. The candy paper is from the Trick or Treat paper pad by Pebbles (2016), purple watercolor by Ms. Sparkle & Co (Joann's) and Cool Lime paper by The Paper Studio. Some retired Halloween twine from Stampin' Up! was added and then the focal circle adhered with dimensionals. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Hoppy Halloween Card

Hello! I hope you had time to make a card today during World Cardmaking Day. We ran errands this afternoon and then I took a nap, finally this evening I made this Hoppy Halloween Card. The stamp set is called Hoppy Halloween and it's by Newton's Nook. It coordinated perfectly with the candy patterned paper from the Trick or Treat paper pad by Pebbles (2016). Some twine and three glimmer dots finished the card and that's it.

Autumn Bunny Card

Hello and happy Wednesday! My hubby was home the last couple of days, so there was no crafting going on at my house. He is at work today, but then he will be off tomorrow through the weekend. While I had some time to myself today I made this Autumn Bunny Card using a stamp by Whimsy Stamps called Bunny in Leaves (retired). The image was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with a square alterations framelit die by Tim Holtz. Since the image is on the larger size, I opted to make a square card. The layout is from the sketch at Cheerful Sketches Challenge. The leaves and plaid patterned papers are from the Fall Blessings paper pad by Carta Bella (2015) and were matted to Shaded Spruce cardstock by Stampin' Up!. There is no added embellishments to this card, just a sentiment from the Harvest Tails stamp set by Newton's Nook. That's it and thanks for stopping by.

Cute Hoppy Halloween Card

Hello! It's another Monday and I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was pretty uneventful, but that's okay. We ran errands and did a few things around the house and that was it.

For this Cute Hoppy Halloween Card I decided to get a little inky with the background. Using mixed media paper and distress inks in: Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint, Scattered Straw, Abandoned Coral, Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves. Once the ink colors were blended I used a distress sprayer with water to lift some color, blotting with a paper towel. Then I used the heat gun to speed the drying process. The images are from Newton's Nook Hoppy Halloween stamp set, which I absolutely LOVE. Copic markers were used to color the images and then coordinating dies were used. The patterned paper is from the Boos & Brews paper pad by Doodlebug Designs, Inc. To accent the focal area a piece of green patterned paper was die cut with a retired edgelit die by Stampin' Up!. Then I decided to add two black bats using the Newton's Boo-tiful Night die set by Newton's Nook. Everything was adhered to a piece of Grape Delight cardstock by Bazzill and then adhered to the white card base. That's it! So glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Hugs and Kisses Card

Hello and happy Thursday! A couple of years ago I bought this Spring Bunnies stamp by Wild Rose Studio because it's darling and I love bunnies. However, I've been hesitant to use it because I didn't think my coloring skills would do it justice. When I saw this weeks sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches I decided now was the time to give it a try. Copic markers were used to color the image with light brown tones for the bunnies: E50, E53, E30 and E95. Other colors were selected to coordinate with the Bo Bunny patterned paper from the Early Bird Collection. To follow the sketch I used my sewing machine for the squiggly element and then I added a gold bow for detail. The sentiment is from the retired Good Greetings stamp set by Stampin' Up! and three rose colored glimmer dots were added, that's it. So glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Hoppy Halloween Card

Do you love making cards for Halloween? It's one of my favorite holidays to make cards! To send to my family and friends I make at least a dozen cards, sometimes more. I love the colors, patterned papers and the fun dressed up characters. Last week Newton's Nook released several new Halloween stamp sets and my favorite is the Hoppy Halloween set. It's hard for me to resist anything with cute bunnies! Needless to say this set immediately went into my shopping cart. Stamp LOVE... it's a thing!!!

To make this Hoppy Halloween Card I selected some of my favorite Halloween patterned papers form the Boos & Brews paper pad by Doodlebug Designs. The image was colored with Copic markers and die cut with the coordinating dies. A spider web border punch by Fiskars was used with white cardstock for detail and the sentiment was heat embossed. That's it! I'm glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

The last couple of days have been super hot here in Oklahoma. In the morning my outdoor rabbits will be eating grass but in the afternoon they are laying around in my flowerbeds where it's shady. I like to watch them, so I usually check on them several times a day. Below is a picture out my back window of one laying down by the bushes. My hubby put the white piece of lattice up to help give more shade and the rabbit will lay under it. The birds love to use the lattice to rub their head and bodies on, it's fun to watch. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Summer Fun at Crafty Catz

Hello crafty friends! This month I have the honor of being a guest designer at the Crafty Catz Challenge and today is the start of a Summer Fun theme challenge. The sponsor this week is The Paper Shelter and they provided the design team with a couple of wonderful digital images to create with. Unfortunately my old printer decided to die, the poor thing had been making an awful noise for months, but that meant no digital images for me. So, I've used a House-Mouse Designs image called Umbrella Nap and colored it with Copic markers. We would love for you to join the Summer Fun challenge! Click HERE for all the challenge details and design team inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Spring Bunny Card

Happy Friday! It's a windy day here in Oklahoma and although it's supposed to be Spring it feels more like Summer. This time of year the temperatures are usually around 78 degrees and this week it's been close to 90 degrees everyday. Too soon for this warm weather for this girl!!!

I have to admit my creative energy levels have been pretty drained lately but the color challenge at Inky Paws are my favorites, so I summoned the energy to make this Spring Bunny Card. The bunny image is from the retiring stamp set by Newton's Nook called Hello Spring. Since purple tulips are one of my favorite flowers I thought this stamp was perfect for this color combo. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was fussy-cut. The retired tulip frame embossing folder by Stampin' Up! coordinated well with the stamp. A Fiskar's grass punch was used for the green grass and the sentiment is from a Crafter's Companion stamp set. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

Bunny Smile Card

Last week one of my crafty blogging friends, KT Fit Kitty, posted a card with a bunny and she mentioned a Bunny Hop. Well... since bunnies are one of my favorite critters, I knew I had to join this hop at Crafty Nomad's blog. I combined a few challenges to create this Bunny Smile Card.

First, I selected the Tulip Bunny image by Bugaboo and then I decided to use the color challenge at Catch The Bug. The image was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with a stitched square die. For the patterned paper selections, the green leaves came from the Flora paper pad by Carta Bella and Calypso Coral stripe is from the Petal Garden paper pad by Stampin' Up!. Some retired Calypso Coral twine and retired Crisp Cantaloupe sequins were added. To finish it off a little yellow butterfly with rhinestones and the sentiment from the Affectionately Yours stamp set by Stampin' Up!. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

You're Kind Bunny Card

Good day! It's been awhile since I've played along at Tuesday Morning Sketches. So today I made this You're Kind Bunny Card using this weeks challenge sketch. I also found a couple challenges to use Bunnies/Rabbits and since they are one of my favorite cute critters I had to play along. The image is by Di's Digi Stamps and it's called Bunny. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut with a stitched circle die. All patterned papers are from the Family Ties paper pad by Pebbles (2012). The You're So Kind sentiment is by Taylored Expressions from the Zinnia Bouquet stamp set and it was die cut with a designer mini tag also by Taylored Expressions. A little twine bow to accent the mini tag and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Pretty Bunny Easter Cards

Hello! When I saw the Let's Be Happy stamp set by Unity Stamps I immediately feel in love with the pretty bunny. I used the stamp set to make four of my Easter cards for this year. The layouts are the same but I changed the colors and papers on each card. This post features two of the Pretty Bunny Easter Cards and you can see the other two HERE.

I really wanted to make this Pretty Bunny Easter Card using purple, but it was a challenge finding the right purple papers. I dug through a lot of patterned papers before I decided on this combination. The background paper is from a Recollections paper pad, the floral is from a freebie paper pad from a magazine and the dark plum was a scrap from my bin. The card with the pink and green color combination features papers from the new Spring Market paper pad by Carta Bella. A little yellow butterfly finished them off and that's it. Thanks for stopping by!

Tulip Bunny Card

Good day/night depending on where you live! I have a quick post to share my latest handmade card. This Tulip Bunny Card was inspired by several current challenges including a photo inspiration challenge at Catch The Bug. I love the colors in the photo inspiration (see below) and decided to make another card with a bunny. The image is by Bugaboo and it's called Tulip Bunny. Copic markers were used to color the image and then a die cut square was used to cut the image. All the patterned papers are scraps from my craft desk and they required very little cutting. The sentiment is from a Unity Stamp Set called Let's Be Happy. Of course I had to finish it off with a little butterfly and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Easter Blessings Card

Happy Friday! It's Spring Break here in Oklahoma and I'm having a girls weekend with my nieces and mother this weekend. It's been a really long time since we did this, so it's long overdue. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can enjoy our time together.

One of my favorite new stamps is this sweet bunny by Unity Stamps called Let's Be Happy. Copic markers were used to color the details on the bunny and then a square stitched die was used to die cut the image. When selecting the patterned papers I decided to go pastel and used Amy Tangerine Collection called Yes Please by American Crafts.  Most of my Easter cards have a butterfly, so I added a small butterfly and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Dressed Bunny Easter Card

This week is going by pretty fast and I still need to make several more Easter cards. It's been a couple of years since I stamped this image that I borrowed from a friend. I knew it would make a cute card for my youngest niece. The image is really large, so I used a center focused design for this Dressed Bunny Easter Card. Copic markers were used to color the image, then it was trimmed and matted to pink cardstock. The plaid patterned is by Lawn Fawn and the yellow polka dots is by Echo Park. To finish it off I added a little yellow butterfly and a Happy Easter sentiment.

Does your favorite colors change with the season? I'm always going to love green and purple but I love using yellow in the spring and one of my new favorite colors is coral sea blue (BG23). Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Garden Bunny Card

Hello crafty friends! I hope you're having a lovely day. It's been a calm and quiet one at our house today, which gave me a chance to make this Garden Bunny Card. A couple of months ago after I updated my computer it crashed. The hard drive had to be replaced but we were able to restore most of the downloads and documents and saved them to a flash drive. Well... this week the flash drive keeps telling me it needs to be formatted. All my digital images from the last six years are on that flash drive, so I'm hoping to find a way to get it restored without losing all my data. Wish me luck!

When I print digital images I usually print several of the same image to keep in my stash. This Garden Bunny image by Bugaboo Stamps was selected from my stash and colored with Copic markers. I dug through my patterned papers to find this retired tulip paper by Stampin' Up! The sentiment stamp is from a stamp set by Unity Stamps. A little yellow butterfly was added for detail and that's about it. Thanks for stopping by!

Bunny Thinking of You Card

The month of February has flown by and I almost forgot to make a card for the Gerda Steiner Progressive Challenge. The image provided this month is called Spring Bunny Friends and it's adorable. This image also works perfectly for the challenge at Allsorts to use something beginning with the letter 'B', Bunnies. I colored the image with Copic markers and then die cut it using a stitched oval die by My Favorite Things. All patterned papers are from the Hello Easter collection by Echo Park. The stamped flowers are from the retired Petite Petals stamp set by Stampin' Up! and the sentiment is from the Dottie Bunny stamp set by Unity Stamp Company. There's still a couple of days to join Gerda's progressive challenge, you can find all the details HERE. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Plant Smiles Card

This summer I had the privilege and joy of watching a baby cottontail rabbit grow up right outside my back window. Although I worried about it everyday because we have several Red-tailed Hawks in our area, I'm happy to say it is still hanging out in our backyard. It brought many smiles to my face and it was the inspiration for this Plant Smiles Card.

The image is from the retiring Garden Whimsy stamp set by Newton's Nook. It's currently on sale and once it's gone... it's gone. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was cut 3.25" square and matted to a piece of Audry Blue cardstock by Simon Says Stamp. The polka dot and red patterned paper is by American Crafts (2012) and the blue stripe is by Echo Park. Everything was adhered flat for easy mailing and the final touch was the die cut sun by Lil' Inkers. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!
