OMG Card - TMS #599

Hello! Can you believe it's the last Tuesday of the month? March just flew by! I hope you will have time to play along with us this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks sketch was designed by me and I would love to see how you use it! My card was made for my niece who is a junior in high school. She recently received a couple of leadership honors and a card was definitely needed. I used the fun OMG stamp set by Reverse Confetti along with the coordinating die. Her school colors are red, black and white, so I tried to stick as close to those colors as possible. I went through every paper pad I had until I found the star paper from an American Crafts paper pad called Little by Little (2016). It has extra colors, but I thought it worked well. 😊 The design team did a fantastic job and you can click HERE to see their work and all the challenge details. I hope you're inspired to join us this week and don't forget to link your card by 8 pm EST on Sunday. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Simple Easter Cards

Good day! There was a lot going on this past month and I have successfully procrastinated on making my Easter Cards. Since time is now an issue, I'm making several Simple Easter Cards. A pretty floral patterned paper accented with coordinating polka dots along with a bold Happy Easter die cut by Reverse Confetti came together quickly. Then I decided to stamp the cute little rabbit from the Hop Into Spring stamp set by Reverse Confetti and used the coordinating die cuts. The little rabbit was centered above the sentiment and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Birthday Card - TMS #598

Hello! Are you ready to play along with another sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches? This weeks sketch is designed by Melissa Craig and we would love for you to give it a try. I ventured away from my creative process this week and did something a little different. Instead of picking patterned paper that I love to start my card, I picked a piece from a paper pad that I truly don't know why I bought. Then I found the gray polka dot border in a package that had been forgotten. I matched the cardstock and decided to use the Happy Birthday die. The final decision was what to do with the postage stamp element, I decided to use a subtle stamp with a coordinating ink color. That's it! This card is definitely different than most of my makes. The design team did a fantastic job! To view their designs and for all the challenge details click HERE. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Easter Card

Hello and happy Sunday! This morning I woke up determined to make a card for the Try Stampin' On Tuesday challenge before it closes today. I was waiting for my Hop Into Spring stamp set by Reverse Confetti to arrive in the mail and I got it. So, I made this Happy Easter Card using the challenge sketch and large sentiment option. The Happy Easter die cut is also by Reverse Confetti and the tiny floral paper is from the Hoppy Easter paper pad by Doodlebug Design. Copic markers were used to color the images and they were die cut with the coordinating dies. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Bunny Thinking of You Card

Good day! It's been gloomy outside today, so I stayed in my craft room and played. This Bunny Thinking of You Card is what I made. It features the Dottie Bunny stamp set from Unity Stamps and it was colored pink with Copic markers (RV11 & RV32). The patterned papers are from the Shine On paper pad by Amy Tangerine (American Crafts/2018) and that's it.

I adore rabbits and this time of year there are so many cute things featuring this critter that I have to be careful to not go on a rabbit crazy shopping spree. How many rabbit stamps are too many?🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇 Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Mouse St. Patrick's Day Card

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Did you wear green today? It's one of my favorite colors, so I always embrace the wearing of the green. Although that's about the extent of my St. Patrick's Day celebrating. I don't drink, so no green beer for me!☘☘☘

This afternoon I made this Mouse St. Patrick's Day Card using a digital image called Little Shamrock Mouse that I found at Whimsy Stamps. It was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with a stitched circle die. The green patterned papers are from the Lots O' Luck paper pad by Doodlebug Design (2018). The black and white polka dots help break up all the green and I decided to add a little bit of gold glitter paper for some sparkle. A sentiment was the final touch and everything was adhered flat. This card is entered into the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies March Anything with a Critter challenge and Crafty Gals Corner Make It Green challenge. Thanks for stopping by!☘

Ninth Blogiversary

Hello crafty friends! Nine years ago today I started this blog and published my first post about Getting Started making handmade cards. My second post was a Floral Thank You Card that I made using basic supplies. Today I thought it would be fun to use the same patterned paper as that first card with some of my newer supplies. Thankfully I didn't have to dig too deep to find the floral paper by Basic Grey from the Green at Heart collection (2010). I paired it with a green gingham and followed a sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday for the layout. The butterfly is from the Monarchs stamp set by Newton's Nook and it was colored with Stampin' Blends markers in Flirty Flamingo and Rich Razzleberry. A thank you sentiment from the Petal Palette stamp set was stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink both by Stampin' Up! and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. That's it! I'm thrilled you stopped by and if you want to share how long you've been making cards feel free to leave me a comment. Enjoy the rest of your day!😊

Beautiful Day Card

Hooray for Friday! My hubby surprised me today and only worked half a day. So, we went to lunch and ran some errands. When we came home he decided to take a nap which gave me time to finish this Beautiful Day Card. It uses three of my favorite colors, Purple, Green and Yellow which are also the colors in the Inky Paws color challenge. Today is the last day to enter the Inky Paws challenge and I have been completely procrastinating. Finally, I decided to stop overthinking it and just make something. 😊

The stamps used are all by Newton's Nook and they include the Dainty Daisies and Monarchs stamp sets along with the coordinating die cuts. Copic markers were used to color the images. Some gingham grass was added and everything was adhered to a piece of  Spiffy Speckles paper by Lawn Fawn. That's it! I'm glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Tiny Miracles Card

Good day! I have a quick post to share my latest card. This Tiny Miracles Card features new butterfly goodies from Stampin' Up!. I love butterflies! The patterned paper is a new 6x6 dsp called Butterfly Bijou and it's pretty enough to be used alone if you wanted to just add a sentiment. I went through my scraps and found the stripe and the tiny miracles sentiment (Unity Stamps) that was already stamped on a piece of paper that kind of matches (it's definitely not perfect but I was crafting at night 😊). Then I stamped the butterfly from the new Butterfly Brilliance stamp set and colored it with Mango Melody Stampin' Blends. That's it! I'm entering this card at the Watercooler Wednesday All Things Feminine Challenge. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Our Thoughts Card - TMS #596

Hello! It's time to start another Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge and this week Melissa Craig has designed another great sketch. It's always fun to see the different ways a sketch is used and to view all the inspiration from the design team click HERE. I hope you will be inspired to play along this week! All the details can be found on the challenge blog, just don't forget the challenge ends at 8 pm EST on Sunday.

Most of the supplies used on this Our Thoughts Card are from Stampin' Up!, some old and some new. The butterfly is from the new Butterfly Brilliance stamp/dies and it sits on splatters made with a stamp from the retired Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. I love butterflies, so I have a hard time passing up anything pretty with butterflies. The patterned paper is new and it's called Butterfly Bijou. A sentiment from the retired Lasting Lily stamp set was used and it was stamped directly on the patterned paper. That's about it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Lots of Happy Card

Happy Friday! My motivation to craft has been very low lately. I'm just not feeling inspired! This Lots of Happy Card is simple but it took me several days to complete. The design is a recreate of a blue and yellow card I made back in January.  This time I used green and purple, two of my favorite colors and I really like how this card turned out. The stamp set is called Pretty Perennials by Stampin' Up! and the patterned paper is from the Paper Blooms dsp which was a sale-a-bration freebie. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Challenges entered: Crafting Happiness (Anything Goes/Option Green), The Paper Funday (Anything Goes/Green Twist), Try it on Tuesday (Say it with Flowers) and Word Art Wednesday (Anything Goes).

Butterfly Card - TMS #595

Good day! This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches we have another new sketch designed by Melissa Craig. I played around with the circular element on this card and ended up using a stencil. My first thought was a doily, but the ones I have were too big. So, I decided to go simple. Most of my cards have many layers, stamping or coloring, but I did none of that on this card. After stenciling I added a piece of patterned paper then layered on the frame, sentiment and butterfly all from the Bloom Street collection by Pink Paislee. That's it! I hope you will join us this week and play along with this sketch at Tuesday Morning sketches. For all the challenge details and design team information click HERE. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!
