Beary Comforting Card

Well... it's finally time to say good riddance to 2020! Many are hoping for a better New Year and I pray that happens. It's been hard not being able to see my family, especially when my dad has had such an awful year. He's had numerous medical issues come up throughout the year. Several years ago he lost hearing in one ear. On Christmas morning he woke up and couldn't hear at all. This week he has been dizzy and having headaches. He went to a specialist and will have further tests, but he is frustrated and in pain. It's really hard when there isn't anything you can do to make things better. Hopefully I can make the trip to see him soon.

This Beary Comforting Card has already been mailed to my dad. The supplies and design are from the December Paper Pumpkin kit by Stampin' Up! called Beary Comforting. This kit will come in handy when I need quick cards for get well and thinking of you occasions. I want to thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Happy Howl-idays Card

Merry Christmas! Our day will be spent with just the two of us as we try to avoid others during this pandemic. We are making stuffed shells with linguine for dinner and I might make some pumpkin bread. It's going to be a nice calm day!

This Happy Howl-idays Card was one of my last minute makes for one of our friends. It was supposed to be a fast and easy card, but I underestimated how long it takes me to color an image. Of course I used red and black Copic markers which, in my opinion, are more challenging to use. So, other than coloring this was a simple card. Everything was adhered flat and I mailed it the day I made it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day however you choose to spend it.

Poinsettia Christmas Card

Good day! By this time all my Christmas cards should have arrived at their destinations. I completely depleted my stash and made several last minute cards. Most of my cards are one of a kind, but I loved this Poinsettia Christmas Card so much that I made four of them. The poinsettia was a lot of fun to color and I tried to make it look like an Iced Punch Poinsettia. The papers and stamps are from Stampin' Up! and the images were colored with Copic markers. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Winter Wreath - TMS #586

Welcome! It's time to wrap up the end of the year at Tuesday Morning Sketches and that means we are having our annual Anything Goes challenge. Click HERE for all the details and design team inspiration. For this challenge it doesn't have to be a card, so I made a Winter Wreath (see below). I wanted something I could leave up all winter and enjoy. It started with a 10" foam wreath that I wrapped in ribbon. There are two layers of ribbon, the top ribbon is more sheer and has glitter and the bottom ribbon is a satin ribbon in the same color. Then I took a piece of mixed media paper and cut it into a circle to fit behind the wreath. The sky was made with the ink smooshing technique using distress inks and then sprayed with some white distress spray. A piece of Pixie Dust glitter paper by Lawn Fawn was used for the snow which was cut with a stitched land border die. All images and trees were made using products by Newton's Nook. The snowman and birds are from the Festive Fawns stamp set and were colored with Copic markers. The little caroling mouse is from the Caroling Newton stamp set and the die cut trees were made using the Forest Scene Builder die set. To finish it off five snowflake sequins were added and that's it.

The challenge goes through January 3, 2021 at 8 pm EST. We would love for you to join us and share what you've been creating. There will be a prize for this challenge and you can check out the details HERE. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Kitty Dreams Christmas Card

Hello! Each year I make a couple of Christmas cards using non-traditional colors. This Kitty Dreams Christmas Card is for my youngest niece. The images and sentiment are from the Christmas Dreams stamp set by Lawn Fawn and everything was colored with Copic markers. After coloring the coordinating dies were used to cut the images and then everything was adhered flat. The patterned papers are by Doodlebug Designs, snowflakes from the Winter Wonderland paper pad and the purple gingham from Petite Prints paper pad. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day! 🎄

Meowy Christmas Card

Hello! This morning I woke up to a winter wonderland and it's snowed all day. It's funny because the weatherman predicted a trace up to an 1" of snow and when I went outside it was up to my ankle. My backyard birds were fighting over food, so I bundled up and took them more seed. It's beautiful and we will enjoy it while it lasts because we don't get snow that often here in Oklahoma.

Now onto this Meowy Christmas Card that I made this afternoon. I'll be sending it to our veterinarians office. The cute kitties and sentiment are from the Christmas Kitties stamp set by Simon Says Stamp and they were colored with Copic markers, then die cut with the coordinating dies. Snowflake paper seemed appropriate today, so I found this paper in the Winter Farmhouse paper pad by Simple Stories and accented it with some plaid by Authentique from the Solitude paper pad. Everything was adhered flat and that's it. Wishing you a warm and wonderful day!

Cardinal In My Thoughts Card

Today is the first anniversary of the day my brother passed away. The remaining pieces of my heart were shattered that day. It has been a year of daily tears and a struggle to accept that both my siblings have passed on. For the remainder of the year I'm taking a break from the computer and being online. I may still post a few things to Instagram but that's about it.

This Cardinal In My Thoughts Card was made for my parents. After my sister passed away I started to take notice of the cardinals in my yard. I have several visit my yard everyday and I truly enjoy their visits. My mom has mentioned the representation of cardinals being a visitor from heaven, so I thought the cardinal was very fitting for this card. It's from the Toile Christmas stamp set by Stampin' Up! and was colored with Copic markers. The sentiment is retired by Stampin' Up! and the patterned paper is from the Winter Farmhouse paper pad by Simple Stories. Well, that's it. Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful December!

So Sorry for Your Loss Card

This time of year is supposed to be happy and joyful, but losing loved ones doesn't stop during the holidays. My friend's mother passed away the day after Thanksgiving and this So Sorry for Your Loss Card is the card I made for her.

The image and sentiment are by Unity Stamps from the My Condolences stamp set. To color the images I used Copic markers. I added a bitty butterfly and that's it. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Thanksgiving Card with Critters

Good day! Next week we celebrate Thanksgiving here in the United States and I'm still busy making cards to send to family. My crafting speed definitely doesn't keep up with the calendar and I'm also easily distracted. So, I'm a little behind schedule.😊 This Thanksgiving Card with Critters features the Giving Thanks stamp set by Pretty Pink Posh. The critters were colored with Copic markers and then die cut with the coordinating dies. Colors were selected from the leaf paper by Echo Park (Happy Fall paper pad). To frame the little scene two narrow stripes of patterned paper were added and then I used the sewing machine to add stitching. Everything was adhered flat and that's it! Thanks for stopping by.

Bunny Brew Card

Hello and happy Friday 13th!!! I made this Bunny Brew Card to share for the last day of the 2020 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. While scrolling through the hop entries I found another card (HERE) using this Dir-TEA Bunny image and it made me remember I bought this stamp set over the summer. I had completely forgot! 😊

To make this card I first selected the leaf paper from the Pumpkin Spice paper pad by Doodlebug Designs. Then selected coordinating paper colors and decided to color the bunny light brown using Copic Markers. Once the image was colored it was die cut with the coordinating die. A simple center focused layout was used and the Hopping By To Say Hi sentiment from the Springtime Sentiments by Trinity Stamps was added. That's it! Thank you for stopping by my blog and I wish you a wonderful day.

Iced Coffee Card

Good day! If you love coffee, tea, cocoa, hot cider, etc... then you should check out the 2020 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop going on right now until November 13th. There are lots of great prizes up for grabs and it's fun to see all the different creations. ☕

This is my second card for the hop and it features my favorite coffee beverage... an iced coffee. I prefer mine without whipped cream, just to save a few calories. To make this card I started with the green brick patterned paper by Bo Bunny (Stay Awhile Collection 2017). Then I stamped the image by Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous (Fresh Brewed 2015) and colored it with Copic markers. A scrap piece of paper from the first card I made was used (black coffee cups from the Coffee paper pad by Echo Park 2020). Lastly I found a great sentiment from the Coffee Break stamp set by Jaded Blossom and stamped it onto a piece of scrap woodgrain paper. Everything was adhered flat and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Dove Card - TMS #580

Hello! It seems like last week drug on forever but it's Tuesday again and time to start another new sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks sketch was designed by Debbie Foster and it's really simple. For this Dove Card I have rotated the sketch, created an inky background and added stitching around the edge. The dove image and sentiment are by Unity Stamps from the Mourning Dove sentiment kit which I fussy-cut. That's it, simple and easy. We would love for you to join us this week and share how you interpret the sketch. Click HERE for all the challenge details and design team inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful day!

Happy Coffee Card

Hello crafty friends and fellow coffee/tea lovers! I have a quick post to share this Happy Coffee Card I made for the 2020 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. This card features a stamp from the Choose Happy stamp set by Simon Says Stamp along with patterned papers from the Coffee paper pad by Echo Park with a gingham frame cut from a scrap of Doodlebug Designs Inc paper. The frame was cut with an Avery Elle Reversed Pinked Die. A little yellow was added for a pop of color and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful day!

When it comes to drinking coffee I love a good cold brew or an iced vanilla coffee. In winter if it's really cold outside I'll drink hot coffee and I like it dark with cream and sugar. ☕☕☕

Better with Sprinkles Card

Good day! I have a quick post to share this Better with Sprinkles Card that I made using the sketch from the Inky Paws challenge. The Newton's Donut image goes perfectly with the new Pumpkin Spice paper pad by Doodlebug Design Inc. Copic markers were used to color the image and the coordinating die was used to cut it out. I left the cat mainly white with a little Brick White detail and everything was adhered flat. This was a pretty easy card. I'm also entering this card into the anything goes challenge at Cute Card Thursday. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

This weeks sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches was perfect for this Thankful Turkey Card. I've had this digital image printed for several years. It was left over from cards I made back in 2016, so I decided it was time for it to appear on it's own card. 🦃

All you have to do is make a creation using this weeks sketch and link it to the challenge post by 8 pm EST on Sunday. I'm glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day. 🦃

Once I had everything assembled I decided I needed to add a little toad from the Springtime stamp set by Hello Bluebird. Thanksgiving Card - TMS #578

Good day crafty friends and welcome back! Today is the start of a new sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches and I know you're going to love this sketch designed by Melissa Craig. It's perfect to use scrap papers or to cut that new paper pad you just bought. I did a little of both. The Happy Thanksgiving sentiment was already stamped left over from last year, so I started with that and then picked papers that went with the Bugaboo image.

We would love for you to play along this week! The design team provided a variety of inspiration and you can find their designs and all the challenge details HERE. We look forward to seeing your creations! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Butterfly Sympathy Card

Hello! Last week a long time friend of my mother passed away and I made this Butterfly Sympathy Card to send to her family. She was a lovely lady and will be greatly missed. 💜

When it comes to making sympathy cards I rarely make them just to keep in my stash. I like making them specifically for the family of the person who passed away. Although doing it this way usually leads to crafting through tears, that's okay with me. For this card I used the retired Watercolor Wings stamp set by Stampin' Up!, a retired flourish die cut and sentiment by Stampin' Up! and the patterned paper is from the Country Lane paper pad by LDRS Creative. The layout is one I've used several times, but I really like it. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

BOO Card - TMS #577

Good day! If you're looking for a quick sketch to make your next card then you should definitely check out this weeks Tuesday Morning Sketch. It's designed by Melissa Craig and it's very versatile. In an effort to finish my Halloween cards I made this BOO Card. I found the die cut BOO when I was cleaning this past weekend and decided it was perfect for this weeks sketch. In place of the bow I added the jack-o-lantern and used some of my older paper stash and that's it. The design team made a variety of inspiration this week using many different occasions. We would love to see your take on the sketch! Click HERE for all the challenge details and design team inspiration. Just remember to link your creation by 8 pm EST on Sunday. Hoppy Halloween Card

Hello! This year I need to get my Halloween cards mailed earlier than usual due to the postal delays. It hasn't been that bad, but I don't want to risk it. Thankfully I only have a couple more to make and I'll be done. This Hoppy Halloween Card was made using the colors from the Inky Paws Challenge to use Orange, Purple, Yellow and Black. Distress Oxide inks were used to make the inky background. The spooky tree was made from a die cut from Simon Says Stamp and the grass die is by Newton't Nook. Two stamp sets and coordinating dies by Newton's Nook were used. The bunny is from the Hoppy Halloween stamp set and the ghosts are from the Boo Hoo set. Copic markers were used to color the bunny image and the sentiment was heat embossed. That's it! 👻👻👻

Fall Acorn Card - TMS #576

Hello! It's time to start another new sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches and this weeks sketch was designed by Melissa Craig. I decided to use the new Big Acorn stamp by Lawn Fawn for this Fall Acorn Card. Five acorns were stamped using Memento black ink, colored with Copic markers and then die cut with the coordinating die. Green and brown look good together, so I decided on a green plaid paper by Lawn Fawn. The sentiment is by Impression Obsession and was stamped with Memento black ink. Before adhering to the card base I used Java chalk ink around the edge of the paper and that's it. We would love for you to join us this week! The exception is the purple plaid, it's by Lawn Fawn. The Happy Halloween sentiment is by Stampendous! and was stamped using Memento black ink. Fall Card with Squirrels

Hello and happy World Card Making Day! I hope you have time to make a card or two today. My crafty mojo has been pretty low lately, but that hasn't stopped me from buying new stamps and supplies. One of my latest purchases included the new Let's Go Nuts stamp set and Tree Before 'n Afters by Lawn Fawn. Aren't these squirrels super cute? I just adore this stamp set! So, today I decided to make this Fall Card with Squirrels. The images were colored with Copic markers and then die cut with the coordinating dies. To make the sky background I used Tumbled Glass distress ink and used the smooshing technique. The grass was cut with a tiny wavy scalloped die by Simon Says Stamp. Once everything was cut out I assembled the scene and adhered it to a piece of patterned paper from the Into The Woods Remix paper pad by Lawn Fawn. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. I'm glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Fox Thank You Card

Well... it's time to say goodbye to September. I like the month of September but I'm eagerly waiting for the cooler temperatures that arrive in October. It's the crispness in the air and the changing of the leaves that I look forward to in fall. 🍂

To make this Fox Thank You Card I used the sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday. The fox image is by C.C. Designs and it was colored with Copic markers then die cut with the coordinating die. All papers are by Stampin' Up! along with the thank you sentiment, little butterfly and flower. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. Thinking of You Cards

In these crazy times it's nice to take time and send cards for no particular reason. That's why I love having Thinking of You Cards in my stash. Recently a friend asked me to make her a couple and these are the two cards I made for her. I ended up using patterned paper from two different Bo Bunny paper pads along with some Doodlebug Designs striped paper. It's hard for me to cover up pretty papers, so I used layouts that let the papers be the star of the card.

Does anyone have advice for getting die cuts to release better? The fancy die cut I used with the jade green paper on the first card does not want to release the small curved areas in the middle and side. The first one I made looked much worse, the second attempt was better but if you look close you can tell it's not as smooth as it should be. Anyway... any good advice is welcome.

Thanks for stopping by!

Autumn Season Card - TMS #573

Hooray! Today is the first day of Autumn/Fall here in the US and that makes me very happy. There are a few trees in our neighborhood that are already starting to change color. We usually end up with lots of leaves in our yard but that's okay. I'll just be glad when we no longer have to mow the lawn!!!🍁

Today is the start of another new sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks sketch is designed by Melissa Craig and I thought it was perfect to use the Beautiful Autumn stamp set by Sunny Studio Stamps. The design team made a variety of of different themes for your inspiration. For all the challenge details and design team inspiration click HERE. Significant Otter Card

Good day! I have a quick post to share this Significant Otter Card that I made for a wildlife rescue here in Oklahoma. Early in the Spring they took in a baby male otter, but they didn't have any other otters to raise him with or release with him. Then last month they got a phone call from a rescue in Kansas that had a young female otter and they decided to introduce them. Long story short.... they met, fell in love and are now released together. They have each other and it was the answer to increase the odds of their long term survival. 💚

To make this card I used the Christmas Like Not Otter stamp set by Lawn Fawn which was the STAMPtember collaboration with Simon Says Stamp from 2017. The images were colored with Copic markers and die cut with the coordinating dies. For the water a blue inky background was made with mixed media paper and Distress Oxide inks. The grassy paper is by The Paper Studio and to frame the otters a wavy center was cut out using a Wavy Pierced die by Whimsy Stamps. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Fall Acorn Hi Cards

Good day crafty friends! There is only 12 days until the arrival of fall/autumn here in the United States and that makes me very happy. We were lucky enough to have a cold front push through our area and the temperatures feel like fall. Since this year has been challenging for most, I decided to send simple fall cards to family. These Fall Acorn Hi Cards are easy to make and flat for hassle free shipping. When I make multiples of the same layout I always change the papers. Rarely will I make two identical cards. The acorn is from the retired Acorny Thank You stamp set by Stampin' Up! and it was punched with the coordinating punch. I've been hoarding my fall paper pads for awhile, so the papers are from several different pads and scraps. Well, that's about it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
