Coconut Bon Bons

One of my favorite Christmas candies growing up was Coconut Bon Bons. The last several years nobody in my family made them.  So, I decided to make them.  The recipe is super simple but it does take some time to dip the bon bons in chocolate. They turned out really good and my dad and brother both were happy I made them. Here is my family recipe and I hope if you try them you'll love them as much as we do.

Coconut Bon Bons Recipe:
  • 1 Stick Butter
  • 1 Can Eagle Brand Milk
  • 2 Pounds Powdered Sugar
  • 3/4 - 1 Cup Coconut
  • 3/4 - 1 1/2 Cups Chopped Pecans
  • 2 tsp. Vanilla
Melt butter, mix in Eagle Brand milk, add vanilla, then add all remaining ingredients, mix well. Roll into bit size balls and chill at least one hour. Dip bon bons into your favorite dipping chocolate. I used Ghirardelli chips, mix 2 TBSP shortening with every 2 Cups of chocolate chips.

  1. Thanks for the recipe! I love everything with coconut, so I think I'll give this a try, I have a question you said Eagle brand mil. is it condensed mil? or evaporated milk?
    Thanks again.

  2. Hi Loly, It's the sweetened condensed milk. The recipe calls for Eagle Brand but I'm sure any brand will work the same. I hope you like them.
