Flannel Fox Doll Blanket

Hello friends! I've been busy the last couple of days sewing doll blankets and matching pillows for my hubby's nieces. The girls were asked their favorite colors and then I selected the fabric. This cute fox set is for a little girl who currently likes orange. The fox fabric has a lot of colors, so if her favorite changes hopefully she will still like it. Since I made the presents the hubby gets to do the wrapping. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Winter Fox Card

Happy Friday! Life has been busy lately. Last night I spent two hours making decorative pretzel rods for my hubby's coworkers. Most my days are spent sewing since I'm making several of our Christmas gifts this year. It's always my goal to avoid the big box stores this time of year. The crowds and excessive Christmas marketing drive me crazy.

Onto this Winter Fox Card, the Winter Fox and coordinating dies by Lawn Fawn were one of my Cyber Monday purchases. It's the perfect image to share at the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. All patterned paper on this card is by Lawn Fawn and the glitter snow was created with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. The fox was colored with Copic markers, then it was die cut and adhered directly to the card. The sentiment comes with the stamp set and three snowflake sequins were added for detail. I'm also linking this card to the Snowflake Challenge at Cute Card Thursday. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and Warm Winter Wishes to you.

Crabby Cat Christmas Card

It's late... but I have a quick post to enter the Holiday Chaos Day 7 challenge at Catch The Bug. I'm happy to say I participated all 7 days. This challenge was a bingo challenge and I used the top row across: Candy Canes, Freebie/Crabby Cat Image and Glitter/Bling. The image was colored with Copic markers and layered onto a scalloped circle die cut by Spellbinders. I decided to add some Pacific Point instead of green for a change. The candy cane paper is from The Paper Studio and the polka dot Pacific Point paper is by Stampin' Up!. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions from the Holiday Grumplings stamp set. For the glitter part of the challenge I used some red glitter tape by Recollections. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!!!

Marshmallow Cocoa Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share my last card as part of the Jessica Lynn Original Design Team. Our term has come to an end and I'm happy we're sharing our last creation at the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. Jessica designed this digital Marshmallow Snowman specifically for the hop and it's free for a limited time, click here to download.

To create this card I decided to use only what was on or in my craft desk. So, I pieced together some scraps of paper and added some twine. Then I colored the image with Copic markers and die cut it with a stitched square die by Lil' Inkers. The last addition was three silver sequins for sparkle and that's it. I'll be giving this card to the barista at my local Barnes & Noble coffee shop. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will play along with the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and enjoy the rest of your day!

Snowman Merry Christmas Card

Howdy friends! This evening I attempted to craft and watch TV... the end result was this Snowman Merry Christmas Card created for Day 6 of the Holiday Chaos at the Catch The Bug Challenge.  The theme is Flashback Holiday, and that means using OLD paper and an OLD image from your stash. That's no problem! When I checked the Bugaboo Shop for this Snowman Star image I couldn't find it, so it might be retired. I already had it printed out from several years back and decided it was perfect for this challenge. The background paper is from one of the first Christmas paper pads I bought from Recollections and the little strips are scrap pieces. Three sequins were used for some sparkle and the sentiment is by Kaiser Craft. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Snuggle Up Card

Today is a good day to Snuggle Up and stay inside. The sun is out but it's cold outside. My backyard birds are trying to get water from our frozen bird baths, so I guess after this post I'll go outside and put out fresh water for them. We have spoiled the birds and wildlife around our house with an ample supply of seed and water daily. The word has spread and the birds love our backyard and the indoor cats love watching them.

Onto my card.... this Snuggle Up Card was made using a Bugaboo Digi Stamp called Poppi Xmas Cocoa and it was colored with Copic markers. After coloring it was die cut with a pierced oval and scalloped oval frame combo from Avery Elle. The sentiment was created with the computer and Merry Christmas patterned paper by The Paper Studio and swirls by Pebbles. A few glitter circle stickers by Jolee's were added for detail and that's it.

Let It Snow Card

Brrrr.... it's cold outside today! The sky is gray and gloomy and the wind is has a bitter bite. There is a possibility we may see a few snow flurries but it's not supposed to last long. It's a great day to cook a pot of stew for dinner. Of course that means I have to make a trip to the grocery store, but it will be worth it.

In anticipation of possibly seeing snow I made this Let It Snow Card with a Bugaboo Digi Stamp called Snowman 003. The image was colored with Copic markers and framed with a layer of Marina Mist cardstock where I fussy cut the window using a pair of deckle scissors by Fiskars. A light blue piece of cardstock was embossed with a snowflake embossing folder by Darice and Sky Blue chalk ink was added to the raised areas for detail. Once the card was assembled some Star Dust Stickles was added to the snow beneath the snowman for sparkle. The Let It Snow sentiment by Stampin' Up! was added which was anchored with one snowflake. Everything was adhered flat to make it easy to ship. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Christmas Hedgie Card and Tag

It's day 3 of Holiday Chaos at the Catch The Bug blog and I'm trying to play along with all challenges. The Christmas Hedgie Card above is for the day 2 sketch challenge and below is day 3 for a Tag with Red and White Stripes. The image is called Christmas Hedgie and I used the colored version to speed things along. All papers are by Doodlebug Designs and the Merry Christmas sentiment on the card is by Kaiser Craft. On the tag... well, it's pretty simple. I used a scalloped oval frame set by Avery Elle and some Stickles for sparkle. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Reindeer Merriest Wishes Card

This time of year it's easy to find several Christmas challenges to inspire your card creations. For this Reindeer Merriest Wishes Card I selected the following challenges to create my card:
First step was selecting the image from my Bugaboo Digi Stamp collection. The image is called Reindeer - Christmas Goodies and it was colored with Copic markers. To add sparkling snow under the reindeer's feet I used glossy accents and fine white glitter. The frame around the image was die cut using a frame die from Taylored Expressions. The snowflakes were cut using a Cricut machine and the Christmas Noel cartridge. A shadow layer in pink was added for some extra color and some clear Wink of Stella applied for more shimmer. The sentiment is from the Christmas Magic stamp set by Stampin' Up! and the papers are a mix, stripes by Echo Park and ornaments by Recollections. That pretty much sums it up. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Give Thanks Card with Edward Fall Pumpkins

Hello and happy last day of November! To finish off this month I've made one more Give Thanks Card using the photo inspiration at the Catch The Bug Challenge. The image on this card is by Bugaboo and it's called Edward Fall Pumpkins. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut using a stitched circle die by My Favorite Things. I played with some neglected corner punches and a leaf border punch by Fiskars. The Give Thanks sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder. Both plaid papers are from my scrap bin. The brown is by Lawn Fawn and the orange is from DCWV. Three sequins finished off this card and that's it. I'm glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Raccoon Rascals Kindness Card

Sometimes a project keeps getting pushed because of other priorities and this Raccoon Rascals Kindness Card is one of them. There is wildlife rescue and rehabilitation here in Oklahoma called Wild Heart Ranch and I follow them on Facebook. They do a wonderful job sharing their animal experiences and videos with their followers. Their work is inspiring and at times heart breaking! They recently rescued a raccoon from the side of the road and it had a broken jaw. The pictures were painful to look at and my heart hurt for the little raccoon. That's when I knew I needed to send them a card using the Raccoon Rascals stamp set from Newton's Nook.

To create this card I started with a piece of watercolor paper and sprayed some Mister Huey's color mists along with Tattered Angels glimmer mist. The sky was darkened with Broken China distress ink. Once dry the tree from the Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree stamp set was stamped using Memento black ink. Then the sentiment from the Thoughtful Branches stamp set by Stampin' Up! was heat embossed with white embossing powder. The image was colored with copic markers, fussy cut and adhered with dimensionals. A scalloped frame by Taylored Expressions was added along with a few punched stars. That's it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wishing all my crafty friends living in the United States a Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you are blessed with yummy food and the company of family and friends today. My hubby counts down the days until he gets to enjoy his mother's homemade turkey dumplings. I have a hard time picking a favorite, but it's probably the sweet potatoes... although I never pass up a good apple pie! I would love to hear your favorite dish, just leave a comment.

Last week I posted a card using this same image and layout (scroll down or click here) but with different colors. One thing I love to do is change the colors to see the difference. In total I made five of these cards to send to family and friends but they were all different patterned papers and colors. The image is called Pumpkin Bouquet by Taylored Expressions and it was die cut using the coordinating die. It was then layered onto a die cut pierced oval and scalloped frame from Avery Elle. Cardstock colors include: Cajun Craze, Soft Suede and Whisper White by Stampin' Up!. The green patterned paper is from The Paper Studio along with a retired strip of Cajun Craze dsp in the center. Copic markers were used to color the image and the sentiment was stamped with Early Espresso ink. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Animals Give Thanks Card

Although all my Thanksgiving cards are in the mail, I thought I would make a few more to get a jump on next year. I like using animals or cute images on cards I make the youngsters in the family. This image is by Bugaboo Digi Stamps and it's called Autumn Critter Stack 02. It comes with a pre-colored version, which I have used. The image was die cut using a frame by Taylored Expressions. The layout is simple and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. To play along with the Catch The Bug November Bingo Challenge I selected the diagonal: Embossing (heat embossed sentiment), Thanksgiving Theme and Bugaboo Image.  The brown plaid paper is by Lawn Fawn and the acorns are from the Woodland Forest paper pad by Pebbles. Three espresso colored sequins finished off this card and that's it! Another simple and easy handmade Thanksgiving card. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Simple Thanksgiving Cards

My Thanksgiving cards are in the mail!!! To get them done in time I made some Simple Thanksgiving Cards using a pre-colored digital image by Deedee's Digis (no longer in business) and various patterned papers. When I run short on time using pre-colored images really speeds things along. Matching patterned papers was the most time consuming part when making these cards but I didn't dig deep and used many patterns from my scrap bin. All layouts are simple and most don't have embellishments. I played around with sequins but didn't like how they looked. The Many Blessings sentiment by Taylored Expressions was heat embossed with white embossing powder. The image was die cut with a stitched circle die by My Favorite Things and a pair of deckle scissors by Fiskar's was used to cut the matting circle. That pretty much sums up these Simple Thanksgiving Cards!

Many Blessings Card

Happy Tuesday! The last two weeks I was busy sewing and now I find myself behind on making Thanksgiving cards. That is my goal this week... to get as many Thanksgiving cards made as possible. This Many Blessings Card was made using stamps by Taylored Expressions called Pumpkin Bouquet. The image was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with the coordinating Pumpkin Bouquet die. It was then layered onto a die cut pierced oval and scalloped frame from Avery Elle. The damask paper is from the Fall Is In The Air paper pad by Echo Park with a strip of scrap paper down the middle. Since the image is so pretty, I decided not to add any embellishments and just left it simple. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

New Brentwood Stamp Sets

Hello! Today is the launch of two New Brentwood Stamp Sets by Jessica Lynn Original. Both sets feature the adorable Brentwood owl dressed up in costume. The first card I'm sharing uses stamps from the Once Upon a Fairytale set. This set is so pretty and it was a lot of fun using it on this card. The background was created using glimmer mists and the fairy image was colored with Copic markers. I decided it needed several die cut butterflies in girly colors. The fairy wings and butterflies were brushed with clear Wink of Stella for more shimmer. In person this card really has some sparkle.

The second card features Brentwood dressed up like a reindeer for Christmas. He is so cute!!! The stamp set is called Operation Snowball Brentwood. Check out the complete stamp set to see the cute Snowballs included in the set. Again I used Copic markers to color the image and then used a cross stitched oval to die cut it. Patterned paper by Pebbles was selected for this card and the sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder. Some twine and three sequins were used for embellishment and that's it.

Happy Haunting Card with Bats

Happy Halloween crafty friends! I have a quick post to share my latest card. This Happy Haunting Card with Bats was started last year and then set aside until I finally remembered it today and finished it. I've always liked repeated images in threes, the trickiest part is getting the spacing right. All stamps and paper for this card are retired by Stampin' Up!. Some clear Wink of Stella was added to the bats for sparkle and that's it.

Well, we have our front yard decorated and we're ready for trick-or-treating kiddos any minute. Wishing you a Hauntingly Fun Halloween night!

Happy National Cat Day!

In honor our National Cat Day I wanted to share a few pictures of my furry feline family. My hubby and I have no human children, but we love our kitties!!! They make life interesting. I'm starting this post with a photo found online of an irritated kitten with the perfect caption for the photo and my life. I will never profess to being a morning person.

This is a photo of our oldest and she is a big girl, long and pudgy. She was born at my parent's house, her mother was rescued as a kitten from the middle of a country road by my brother. When older the mother had a litter of kittens and she is the one who picked us. We weren't looking to get a kitty when we brought her home in May 2005. She was just too cute and feel asleep in my hubby's arms, that's all it took. If she sees food she eats it, no restraint. She does have a little attitude and has become pretty cranky in her senior years.

Our middle kitty was adopted from a shelter in March 2014. He is very mild mannered and just as sweet as can be. He loves playing with his glitter balls and having his belly rubbed. After a couple of months we felt he was lonely because sister didn't want to play, so we adopted another cat.

Our youngest is full of personality!!! He is constantly into something or wants our attention. We found him at our veterinarian's office. A family adopted him and at 5 months returned him because of a family tragedy that left them unable to care for him. All the changes must have been traumatic for him because the first few months we had him we honestly didn't know if we could handle him. He has separation anxiety and was extremely active. Now that he has settled in and we have a routine he has calmed down. He is now the most affectionate cat we have ever had, he will groom his brother and loves to snuggle at my legs when I sleep. He definitely adds interest and entertainment to our lives.

This final photo is all three of them waiting on me to give them their food bowls. If you were to ask them what I could do to improve, they would probably prefer their meal quicker.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Cat Couple Love Card

Hello and Happy World Cat Day! There are only hours left to join the fun at the Cat Lovers Blog Hop organized by Janis at Her Peaceful Garden. I wanted to make one more card, but crafting on the weekends can be a challenge for me. The hubby is home and our time is usually spent doing other things, but luckily this afternoon he took a nap (smile).

Since I didn't have a lot of time I decided to case one of my old cards that I made my hubby for Valentine's Day 2013 (click here). I used the exact same layout and image. The image is by Meljen's Designs and it came colored. To mix it up, a different sentiment was used which I heat embossed with white embossing powder. The patterned papers are different but similar and three blue hearts were used for detail. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Balloon Kitty Birthday Card

There are several wonderful blog hops going on right now! I decided to combine The Cat Lovers Hop with The Hop to Stop raising awareness for domestic violence. That meant I needed to use purple and a cat... no problem! A few other challenges helped to inspire this Balloon Kitty Birthday Card and here they are:
It's been awhile since I've used a stencil and I'm ashamed to admit the Quarterfoil one I used today sit new in a drawer for over a year. I need to break my patterned paper addiction and make more of my own backgrounds, but it's SO hard!!! The stencil is from Clear Scraps and Lavender dye ink by Hampton Art along with Purple Passion powder puff by Quick Quotes were used for color. This adorable kitty image is from Whimsy Stamps and the birthday sentiment is from Hero Arts. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Funny Cat Card

Anyone who has been around cats know they LOVE boxes! In our house you can't put out just one box or you'll have a battle for who gets to claim it. Most of the time it's the clever cat who wins. It doesn't even matter if the box is small. In the cat's mind there is no such thing as a box that is "too small," they will find a way to fit. One thing is for sure, cats can be very entertaining.

Today is day 3 of The Cat Lovers Blog Hop and I definitely wanted to play along. The stamp and sentiment on this card is called The Love of a Cat by Jessica Lynn Original. To create this card I used the colors from this weeks challenge at Color Throwdown. I had to search through lots of paper pads to find the right mix of colors and patterns but I finally found three that worked. The final touch was adding some twine and three sequins. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Pink You've Got This Card

October is breast cancer awareness month and here in the United States 1 in 8 women will experience invasive breast cancer in her lifetime. To support the awareness campaign I've made this Pink You've Got This Card using the You've Got This stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Last year I made a very similar card (click here) using purple for domestic violence awareness month, which is also in October. Each of these awareness campaigns are very important to the physical and mental health of countless women. Early detection and education can help in both accounts. Knowledge is power!

Merriest Wishes Penguin Card

Happy Tuesday! Again two weeks have gone by super fast and today is Team B's turn to provide inspiration for the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge. We would love for you to join us this week. Click here for all the challenge details and design team inspiration. You have until mid-day on Monday, October 31st to link your creation. I hope to see your card in the gallery.

To create this Merriest Wishes Penguin Card started by selecting the background patterned paper by Bo Bunny's Altitude Collection. Then I colored the image with Copic markers to coordinate with the paper. The image was then die cut with a scalloped frame die by Taylored Expressions. Cardstock colors used include: Pool Party, Blissful Blackberry and Rich Razzleberry all by Stampin' Up! The snowflakes were cut using a Cricut machine and Christmas Noel cartridge. Deciding on a sentiment took me a bit, but I finally settled on the Merriest Wishes from the new Christmas Magic stamp set by Stampin' Up!. The final touch was adding some sequins for sparkle and a little clear Wink of Stella to the penguin's hat. That's it!

Purple Watercolor Rose Card

This month is National Domestic Violence Awareness and purple is the color that signifies this cause. The color purple has been my favorite of mine for a very long time! Although I love the color purple, I don't love the statistics that come with Domestic Violence. I live in Oklahoma and our state ranks third in the nation for the number of women killed by men in domestic violence situations. A ten year study showed that 41% of all homicides in our state were linked to Domestic Violence. This not only affects women but children living in the home. In 70% of the cases where an abused child dies, there has been a pattern of abuse against the mother. The numbers tell a very sad story and I hope you will help spread the word this month by creating a card using purple and joining the Blog Hop at The Hop to Stop organized by Becca at The Damsel of Distressed.

For this Purple Watercolor Rose Card I combined my favorite color, favorite rose stamp by Inkadinkado and one of my favorite layouts. The rose was watercolored using Watercolor Paints by Close to my Heart and then die cut using cross stitched ovals by My Favorite Things. Two pieces of patterned paper were used and matted to Elegant Eggplant cardstock. If you look closely you can see butterflies in the lavender paper by Signify Pink. The dark purple has a floral swirl pattern and it's from The Paper Studio. To finish off the card some Elegant Eggplant twine from Stampin' Up! was added along with a stamped/punched Bitty Butterfly and the sentiment from Crafter's Companion. That's it!
