Fall Text Bird Card

Well, it's goodbye to September 2015!!! If I had to pick a favorite month, it would probably be October. The crisp fall air, pumpkin bread and of course... Halloween, what's not to love? However, there are a few hours left in September and I wanted to share this Fall Text Bird Card. I dug deep into my Stampin' Up! patterned paper stash and used one of my all time favorites, Comfort Cafe. This was one of the first papers I purchased as a customer of Stampin' up! and I had a lot of fun using it on this card.

Nuts About You Card

Happy Tuesday! It's my pleasure to provide inspiration for you today for the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge. This week our theme is Clean and Simple and we are sponsored by SugarPea Designs. They are a small family operated stamp boutique specializing in some of the sweetest designs. I quickly feel in love with their Nuts About You  stamp set and couldn't wait to use it on a card.

The cute squirrel was colored with Copic markers and then die cut using a stitched circle by My Favorite Things. All paper is by Stampin' Up! and the colors include: Tangelo Twist, Mossy Meadow and Whisper White. The sentiment was stamped using Timber Brown StazOn ink. Reminding myself this is supposed to be a clean and simple card, I stopped there.

We hope you will join us this week and share your clean and simple creation with us. You have until Monday to play along.

Cat Couple Anniversary Card

This weekend my hubby and I are celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary. It's amazing how the years have flown by. I decided to make this Cat Couple Anniversary Card for him because our cats are the center of our lives. Before my hubby met me he never dreamed he would have a house cat, but he inherited one when we got married. Eventually we added another, and then another and ever since we've had three cats. We've been through some tough times when we lost our first and then our second kitty companions. At one point he said "NO more", it's too painful when they pass on, but I convinced him there are too many who need love to guard ourselves from the hurt. He was hesitant but now agrees with me. Here is our current kitty crew:

Waiting for dinner
To the back is our oldest, Sassy (she has pretty green eyes), in the middle is Mr. Dickens (the sweetest cat ever) and then we have Tazzy (our lovable and crazy cat). Since we were never able to have children, our kitties fill a big hole in our hearts and they provided wonderful entertainment.

This Cat Couple Anniversary Card is entered into the following challenges:
Card Supplies:
  • Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black and Real Red cardstock by Stampin' Up!
  • Stamps: Pussy Cat Luv digital image by Robyn's Fetish and Love sentiment stamp by Autumn Leaves.
  • Inks & Coloring: VersaMark ink, Silver embossing powder and Copic markers.
  • Other Stuff: Heat tool, white Sakura Gelly Roll pen, silver sequins, and stampin' dimensionals.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Happy Squirrel Fall Card

Doesn't he look happy? This is how I imagine my face looks when I'm buying new craft supplies! When I saw this new Autumn Squirrel digital stamp from Bugaboo it immediately put a smile on my face and went into my shopping cart. I think it's super cute! I colored the image with Copic markers using colors from the color challenge at Tuesday Throwdown. The layout is from this weeks Stella Says Sketch challenge at Catch The Bug. All patterned papers are from the Sweater Weather paper pad by DCWV and the cardstock colors are Bermuda Bay and Summer Starfruit by Stampin' Up! Following the sketch for details, I used Bermuda Bay twine and three Cajun Craze candy dots. The sentiment stamp is from Sugar Pea Designs and was stamped with Memento Black ink. The finished size of this Happy Squirrel Fall Card is 5.25" square. That's it! I'm glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Casual Fall Owl Card

Making casual cards is a nice change of pace. I didn't have to search through patterned papers or fret over selecting the right embellishments, I just stamped. Although the hubby said it is a little boring, it's exactly what I had in mind. This Casual Fall Owl Card features an adorable little Feathery Owl stamp and Branch stamp both by Impression Obsession. The Happy Fall sentiment stamp is by Sugar Pea Designs from their Nuts About You set. After stamping the owl with StazOn Timber Brown onto Very Vanilla cardstock, I used my aqua painters to give him a little color using Tim Holtz distress inks in Frayed Burlap and Brushed Corduroy. The branch was stamped with Walnut Stain distress ink and Brushed Corduroy was used again for the Happy Fall sentiment. Using a Lil' Inker stitched rectangle the entire panel was cut and then adhered to a dark kraft card. That's it! I'm glad you stopped by and enjoy the rest of your day!

The Best Things Card

My morning started earlier than normal today, so while the washing machine was doing it's thing... I played in my craft room. I made this The Best Things Card using the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches #318. All the supplies used on this card had never been used before today. The oldest is the sentiment stamp, it's at least over a year old. I purchased the Blossom patterned paper by Close to My Heart before summer and the Spellbinders Floral Corner die was purchased on sale last month.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Happy Scarecrow Hello Card

Hello and happy Tuesday! Today is the start of a new challenge at Tuesday Throwdown and the theme is For A Child. Our sponsor this week is Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and they provided the design team with a selection of images to create our inspiration. I used the Happy Scarecrow digi and colored him up with Copic markers. Isn't he fun? We would love for you to join us this week by creating a card or project For A Child. Click here to see the fantastic inspiration from the design team and for all the challenge details.

The layout for this Happy Scarecrow Hello Card is from the Sketch Saturday Challenge #378. I used some hoarded patterned paper that I really love called THANKful by Bella BLVD. The HELLO sentiment is from the Crazy about You stamp set by Stampin' Up! and it's the perfect size to fit into a 1" punched circle.

Trio of Definitely Dahlia Cards

This Trio of Definitely Dahlia Cards was inspired by a color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary and a sketch challenge at Sweet Sunday Sketch. I also used the challenge at Use Your Stuff to use Stencils on my project. When I sat down to create a card I was debating way too hard on how to layer the colors and that's why I decided to make a Trio of Definitely Dahlia Cards. I flipped the colors three different directions using the same layout. I love seeing the difference that moving the colors around makes. The colors used include: So Saffron, Delightful Dijon and Night of Navy.

Let me know which card is your favorite arrangement of the challenge colors?

Yummy Cheeseburger Card

Last Saturday my hubby and I met my parents in Stillwater, Oklahoma at Eskimo Joe's for some burgers. My parents picked up the check so I made them this Yummy Cheeseburger Card. The inside was stamped with a Thank You sentiment along with a handwritten message. The burger image is by Doodle Pantry and I used the pre-colored version. I kept the layout simple and only added a few sequins for embellishment to keep it easy to mail. Pretty simple! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Fall Butterfly Card

"Nature gives to every season a beauty all it's own." ~Dickens

I'm ready for the colors of fall to arrive and it's evident in my recent card creations. On my last trip to the local scrapbook store they had the new collection called Enchanted Harvest by BoBunny and I couldn't resist picking up a few sheets. This Fall Butterfly Card has three patterned papers from the Enchanted Harvest collection. Several challenges listed below influenced the direction of this card.

The layout is from this weeks sketch at Mojo Monday and it was perfect for a sentiment focused design. The sentiment stamp is called Every Season by Verve Stamps and I used the Papillon Potpourri set and Bitty Butterfly punch by Stampin' Up! A little clear Wink of Stella was added to the butterflies for some sparkle but the patterned paper did most the work on this card. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Handmade Give Thanks Card

Hello and happy Labor Day! I hope you're lucky enough to have the day off to rest, relax and CRAFT. My hubby took a couple additional days of vacation so we've had a long weekend together and it's been nice. We didn't make any plans and have taken it one day at a time. Sometimes it's nice to just do nothing!

On Thursday I saw the color challenge at Pals Paper Arts to use: Delightful Dijon, Old Olive and Cajun Craze. These colors are perfect for a Thanksgiving card, so I made this Handmade Give Thanks Card. I've used a mix of new, current and retired supplies by Stampin' Up! along with a circle stitched die by My Favorite Things.

Handmade Give Thanks Card Supplies:
  • Paper: Delightful Dijon, Old Olive, Cajun Craze and Very Vanilla cardstock. Patterned Paper from Bohemian dsp.
  • Stamps: Thankful Forest Friends and For All Things.
  • Inks: Stampin' pads in Delightful Dijon and Cajun Craze. Stampin' Write markers in Old Olive, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake.
  • Other Stuff: Finishing Touches edgelit, circle stitched die by My Favorite Things, Vanilla/Gold Twine, wooden Autumn accent and stampin' dimensionals.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Thankful Forest Friends Card

Happy Friday!!! This week my mojo has been running a little low but I finally made this Thankful Forest Friends Card from some of my new favorite Stampin' Up! products. I absolutely love the little rabbit from the new Thankful Forest Friends stamp set. I stamped him using Soft Suede ink and then used a 1-1/2" circle punch which was layered to a 1-3/4" scallop circle. The patterned paper is from the Into The Woods dsp and the cardstock colors include: Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight, Tangelo Twist and Mossy Meadow. To ink the sentiment stamp, I masked the foliage areas and used an Early Espresso stamp pad. Then used an Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker on the foliage areas. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Cupcake Celebrate You Card

Happy Tuesday! It's time for Team B to provide inspiration at Tuesday Throwdown and this week our theme is TREATS. One of my favorite treats is a cupcake, or a cookie, basically any baked treat will make me happy. Our sponsor this week is Robyn's Fetish and I had a lot of fun using her Cupcake with Leaf image. Click here to check out the challenge and design team inspiration.

Since Fall is right around the corner, I decided to us warm colors on this Cupcake Celebrate You Card. When I bake cupcakes I like to use patterned paper liners, so I knew I wanted to paper piece that part of the cupcake. Harvest plaid paper by Reminisce seemed like a good choice. I colored the image with Copic markers and then fussy-cut and popped up the little flower. Using a stitched circle steel die cut by My Favorite Things the image was centered and cut. I matted the circle with a Soft Suede cardstock by Stampin' Up!. Using the same plaid paper I layered it onto an Olive card and then added a layer of polka dots by Bo Bunny along with a strip of patterned paper by American Crafts. The sentiment from the Birthday Blossoms set by Stampin' Up! was stamped with StazOn Timber Brown ink. Five peach toned pastel dots were added for some sparkle and the final touch was a little clear Wink of Stella on the flower. That about sums it up.

We would love for you to join our TREATS challenge this week at Tuesday Throwdown. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!
