Floral Thoughts of You Card

Good day crafty friends! I have another card to share with you and this Floral Thoughts of You Card is intended for Mother's Day. I have several cards to make for this occasion because there were several lovely ladies in my life growing up that influenced my life in a positive way. Several years ago I started sending them cards on Mother's Day just to let them know I was thinking about them.

To create this card I decided to use some of my favorite but soon to be retired supplies by Stampin' Up!. The Polka-Dot Pieces stamp set and the Flowerpot dsp work really well together. The only other supplies used were coordinating ink colors, bird builder punch, white twine, a scalloped edgelit die and a retired heart charm. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Flying Hi Card

Happy Tuesday! It's time for another manly challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz. This week the theme is Flight. Again this week I've used an image by Doodle Pantry called Flying Hi, they have lots of wonderful manly images. To select the papers for this Flying Hi Card I limited my choices to the supplies currently on my desk or in my scrap bin. Luckily I had several in the same colors as the pre-colored image. The sentiment is included in the image set and was printed with my computer. To finish it off, I add added three Candy Dots. That's it!

Masculine Thinking of You Card

Hello! I hope you're having a lovely day. It's been nice and calm around my house today and that gave me some time to make this Masculine Thinking of You Card. The card started by finding the current color challenge CCMC352 at Create with Connie & Mary. At first glance I wasn't sure about the colors, but the design team came up with some wonderful inspiration and I had to play along. The colors are: Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky and Basic Gray. I decided masculine was the way to go and the Wetlands stamp set seemed to be the natural choice. I'm currently out of Soft Sky cardstock so I used a piece of paper from the Painted Blooms dsp. To add more color to the edges of the paper I sponged some Soft Sky ink. I stamped the goose onto watercolor paper with Memento black ink and used my aqua painters to add color. The sentiment was stamped directly onto the Soft Sky Paper using Memento black ink. I embossed a narrow strip of Wild Wasabi cardstock using the Arrows embossing folder and added some Basic Gray twine. That's it! There is still a couple of days to play along, click here to go directly to the challenge. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Handmade Beach Tote Bag

Good evening, tonight I have a special project to share. I made this Handmade Beach Tote Bag for my youngest niece's birthday. I used outdoor fabric and made the bag reversible. The striped side has three large pockets for sunscreen and electronic gadgets.

The finished size is 17" x 18", plenty of room for beach towels and a few of my niece's favorite books. I hope she likes it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Fluffles It's Your Day Card

Greetings! This afternoon I created this Fluffles It's Your Day Card. I used the sketch at Crazy 4 Challenges for the layout and only used leftover supplies that were currently sitting on my craft desk to create the card. Most of the supplies are by Stampin' Up! with exception of the Bea Fluffles stamp by Stampendous! and the scalloped circle die cut by Spellbinders. I colored the image with my Copic markers and used Memento black ink with the sentiment stamp from the Fabulous Four stamp set. I'm also entering this card in the anything goes challenge at Use Your Stuff. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Masculine Football Card

Hello! It's Tuesday and that means another challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz. This week the theme is Football Crazy where you can use Soccer or American Football to create a masculine card for the challenge. To create my card I used an image by Doodle Pantry called Football Birdie. The digital set has both colored and lined images for you to choose from. To save time, I went with the colored version. The set also comes with digital papers but I opted to use some patterned papers by The Paper Studio. I kept the design pretty simple and only added a couple of banners and three blue candy dots for detail. I'm pretty sure this Masculine Football Card will be sent to my cousin's house, she has two young boys who play football.

Watercolor Sympathy Card

Good afternoon crafty friends! Many of you may know that I'm from Oklahoma and today is the 20th Anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. On April 19, 1995 there were 168 lives lost including 19 young children in the building's day care center. An additional 650 individuals were injured in the attack and countless lives affected by the tragedy. There has been a lot of news coverage this week and interviews with survivors. Although, I was hundreds of miles away from the city that day, I can still remember what I was doing when it happened and the crushing feeling when I heard the news. My heart goes out to those still grieving from this disaster.

I would like to share this Watercolor Sympathy Card with my friends at The Paper Players for their Clean and Simple Watercolor Challenge. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Sympathy Card Supplies are by Stampin' Up!:
  • Paper: Mossy Meadow cardstock, Soft Sky patterned paper from Painted Blooms dsp and Watercolor paper.
  • Inks: Classic stampin' pads in Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, Mossy Meadow, Tangelo Twist and Cajun Craze. Stampin' write marker in Summer Starfruit and Memento ink in Black.
  • Stamps: World of Dreams, Simply Sketched (sentiment) and Papillon Potpourri.
  • Other Stuff: Aqua painters, Elegant Butterfly punch, basic pearls and stampin' dimensional.

Floral Jug Card

Hello! This afternoon I had some time to create this Floral Jug Card to play along at Tuesday Morning Sketches. It's been awhile since I've been able to play along, that little thing called "work" kept getting in the way. Well, luckily I had the day off and had the perfect image to support this weeks sponsor Doodle Pantry. The image is a freebie when you make a purchase at Doodle Pantry and it's a great image for many different occasions. The thinking of you sentiment is from the Wetlands stamp set by Stampin' Up! I had a lot of fun putting all the wonderful layers together and I hope you will find time to play along at Tuesday Morning Sketches this week. Thanks for stopping by!

Hang in there! Card

Happy Tuesday! Today is the start of a new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week we want to see Exotic/Jungle Wildlife featured on your card. When going to the Zoo, I can watch the monkeys for hours and decided to use a fun digi called Moses the Monkey from SK Digis. I colored Moses with my Copic Markers and cut the image into an oval . The Hang in there! sentiment was printed from the computer. I did go to the store and purchase the Safari patterned paper for this card. The intent was to find a couple of single sheets of paper that would work, however I wasn't that lucky. I ended up buying a 60 piece paper stack called Land of the Sahara by The Paper Studio. It was on clearance, but I will now need to make lots of safari themed cards.

We would love for you to play along with us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz. Click here to see more Exotic/Jungle Wildlife inspiration from the design team. It seems many of us were inspired by monkeys. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Thanks Card for PP240

Good evening! I have a quick late night post to share a card I made for The Paper Players Colour Challenge (PP240). The colours are: Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush and Pistachio Pudding. These colours are very pretty together but I wanted to tone down the overall brightness. To accomplish this I used Very Vanilla cardstock and paired it with patterned paper from the Afternoon Picnic dsp. The design was cased from a card I found in the Occassions Catalog on page 23. Using the Flower Medallion punch with Typeset dsp created the decorative center design. To make the punched pieces stand out more, I used a Basic Black Stampin' Write marker along the edges before adhering them to the card. The flower is from the Flower Shop stamp set and was stamped using Strawberry Slush ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock. Using the Bird Builder punch and Pistachio Pudding cardstock, I punched three small leaves (branches). The Thanks sentiment is from the Another Thank You set and the final touch was adding three Coastal Cabana sequins. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Casual Thinking of You Card

Good day everyone! Yesterday I was searching through some challenges and found three good ones to combine. I made this Casual Thinking of You Card for the following:
While deciding what flowers to use on my card, I looked around my desk and found a stash of already made extras from previous projects. The Mixed Bunch stamped flower and Secret Garden leaves I used were made last May for this card HERE. When stamping I tend to make two or three of everything and pick the best one, the extras go into a plastic container to use later. The problem is, I seldom look in the plastic container and just make something new. I need to challenge myself to use more of the pretty things that are already made. Keeping this in mind, I dug through my paper stash and found a piece of patterned paper from the Moonlight paper stack for the background. I wrapped a piece of Old Olive twine around the paper three times and then adhered directly to the kraft card. The Verve Thinking of You sentiment was stamped using Blackberry Bliss ink and that was it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Awesome! Super Hero Card

Hello again! I'm back today to share with you an Awesome! Superhero Card. I selected the theme Superhero this week for the challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz. My hubby is a huge Superhero fan and with the countdown to the new Marvel Avengers movie coming out soon, it seemed like the perfect theme for this week. I hope it will appeal to your creativity and you will join us this week. We would love to see what you create!

When selecting the colors for my Superhero outfit I decided to be original and pick my own colors. My hero is wearing green, orange, blue with gray boots and belt.  The digital Superhero stamp is by Kenny K and I colored him with my Copic markers. For some detail on the background I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set by Stampin' Up! and added a small piece of patterned paper. The Awesome! sentiment was stamped using Memento black ink and colored in with a C3 cool gray Copic marker. The hardest part when making this card was deciding what colors to use for the outfit, everything else is pretty simple.

The next step is to CLICK HERE to see the wonderful Cardz 4 Guyz design team inspiration. Then we hope you will join us and link your creation to our Superhero challenge. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!!!

This card is entered into the Child's Play challenge at Cards in Envy.

Trefoil Cross Easter Card

Happy Easter! My family will have to forgive me this year for neglecting to send them Easter cards. I was in a car wreck the end of January that totaled my vehicle and my back has been hurting ever since. It makes it hard to sit at my craft desk for long periods of time and therefore I only made a couple of Easter cards this year. I guess I'll send everyone a link to this Trefoil Cross Easter Card to let them know I was thinking about them.

Most of the supplies for this card are by Stampin' Up!. The two exceptions are the Spellbinders oval die and the Easter Sentiment by Studio G. I tend to always use a mix of retired and new supplies when making a card. The Trefoil Cross is retired but it's one of my favorites and I stamped it using Blackberry Bliss ink. A new patterned paper from the Occasions Catalog was used on the bottom, it's called Painted Blooms and I paired it with the retired Daffodil Delight polka dot from the Designer Series Paper Stack. The Wild Wasabi paper strip was embossed using the Fancy Fan embossing folder and I added a punched butterfly with a three pearls for detail. That's it!
