Getting Ready Card

Hello! It's super hot outside, so making a Christmas card seemed like a good idea. Thankfully, the month of July is coming to an end, but I didn't want the Christmas in July challenges to disappear without participating. So, I made this Getting Ready Card featuring the Getting Ready stamp by Colorado Craft Company. Copic markers were used to color the image and then the coordinating die used to cut it out. A piece of snowflake paper from the Winter Market paper pad by Carta Bella was used for the background. Everything was adhered flat onto a piece of blue cardstock and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!🎄

Happy Place Card

Good day! There are only a couple of days left to play along in the current Inky Paws color challenge. The challenge colors are: Royal Blue, Olive Green, Sunshine Yellow and White. It took me awhile to decide what stamp set to use and I finally decided on Newton's Birdhouse. Our cats love to watch the birds and I started feeding birds to attract the American Goldfinch, one of my favorite birds. So, I colored the little birds yellow and the cat was colored to look like my sweet boy Mr. Tommy. The sky and grass background was made using the ink smooshing technique and the layout is one I have used before. I love the sentiment "Find your happy place!" My happy place is with Mr. Tommy, he is such a handsome and good boy, he always puts a smile on my face. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Birdies Thank You Card

Good day! It's a lovely rainy day here in Oklahoma, so I decided to spend some time crafting. I made this Birdies Thank You Card for the sweet lady who does our taxes. She has been doing them since my hubby and I have been married, 25 years. A thank you card is probably long overdue.

The card layout is from this weeks challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. An image from Unity Stamps called For all Your Help Birdies was stamped and then colored with copic markers. When I started looking at sentiments, nothing fit right. Then I remembered the retired Vertical Greetings stamp set from Stampin' Up!, that I had never used, and decided that would work perfectly. The floral patterned paper is new from Echo Park from the It's Spring Time paper pad and some coordinating paper from my scrap bin. A butterfly from my stash was added and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!🌼

Card with Chickadee

Hello! I adore Chickadees, they are just the cutest little birds. They like to frequent the bird feeders in my backyard. Usually, I will hear them before I see them. They have a very distinctive call. So, inspired by these cute backyard birds, I decided to recreate a card I made in 2021. You can find the original HERE

To play along with a few winter blues challenges, I used blue plaid paper. The Chickadee stamp and branch is from the Spring Birds stamp set by Simon Says Stamp. Copic markers were used to color the images and then they were die cut with the coordinating dies. The Chickadee was placed over a cut out made using a stitched peek-a-boo window die by My Favorite Things. Lastly, the sentiment from Verve Stamps was added and everything was layered onto a piece of black cardstock. That's it! So glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Hummingbird Card

Hello and thanks for stopping by my blog. Today I'm sharing this Hummingbird Card that I made using the colors from the Inky Paws challenge. The colors are: Black, Pink, Green and Gray. To create this card I used three different stamp sets, but the main images are from the Hummingbird stamp set by Newton's Nook. All images were colored with Copic markers and then die cut with the coordinating dies. I ended up using very little black, the images are stamped with black Memento ink. The only coloring with black is the little snail in the bottom corner. Some light gray splatters were stamped in the background and then everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. That's it! Wishing you a wonderful day!  🌸

Simple Bird Card

Good day! It's been cloudy and raining today. So, I decided to use a paper with clouds by Kaisercraft and make this Simple Bird Card. I really love the sentiment by Stampendous! and the birds on a wire dies are from Spellbinders. A few sequins to finish it off and this card was done. A very simple and quick card!

Dogwood Birds Card

Hello and happy Wednesday! I have a quick post to share this Dogwood Birds Card. When the Dogwood Trees are in bloom they are very pretty. So, I thought this Dogwood Birds stamp by Stampendous! was perfect for a Spring card. The image was stamped with Memento black ink and then colored with Copic markers. Then the image was layered onto a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock* and then adhered to a piece of floral paper from the Cottage Meadow paper pad by Memory Box. The Thinking of You sentiment is very retired from Stampin' Up! (Wetlands stamp set) and it was punched with an oval punch and layered onto a Granny Apple Green cardstock* punched scalloped oval. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Brightly Colored Note Card

Hello! It's beginning to look like Spring outside. My daffodils have bloomed and the trees are budding. So, I decided to make a Brightly Colored Note Card using papers from Doodlebug Design and an image by Whipper Snapper Designs. The paper is from the Hello Sunshine paper pad (2014) and it's been in my stash for a very long time. I liked this paper so much that I bought three of the paper pads. The Just a Note sentiment is retired by Stampin' Up! and I used some very retired oval punches also by Stampin' Up!. The layout is one we used at Tuesday Morning Sketches back in 2019 (click here for link). It worked perfectly for the image size. Everything was adhered flat and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!🦋

Song of Snowflakes Card

Hello! I hope you're having a wonderful Christmas Eve. Today I'm sharing this Song of Snowflakes Card that I made for a friend. I really love this card! Initially, I had a hard time deciding on the patterned papers, but I'm happy with my blue choice. The papers are from the My Favorite Winter paper pad by Echo Park (2019). The stamp set used if by Newton's Nook and it's called Winter Birds. Copic markers were used to color the images and then the coordinating dies to cut them out. Back in 2018 I made a similar card and I almost made an exact duplicate, but I'm glad I changed things up. To finish off this card three punched snowflakes were added and everything was adhered flat. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!❄🐦❄

Happy Harvest Card

Hooray... Autumn/Fall has arrived!!! I've been counting down the days to cooler weather and we had a small front come through but the warmer weather is predicted to return. So, I will be patient and wait for the next cool front to arrive. 🍂

This Happy Harvest Card features two stamp sets by Lawn Fawn. The Happy Harvest stamp set and the Let's Go Nuts stamp set (squirrel). All images were stamped with Memento black ink and colored with Copic markers. The blue sky was made using Tumbled Glass distress ink and the ink smooshing technique. A frame was die cut using a piece of Lawn Fawn patterned paper and an Avery Elle reverse pinked die. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping, although I may keep this one for myself. Well, that about sums it up. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Bluebird Fall Card

Hello! I'm eagerly anticipating the arrival of fall and the cooler weather. Only a few more days to wait!🍂

While in my craft room yesterday I knocked over a stack of paper and found a inky background paper I made with distress inks a few years back. So, I decided before I lose it again that I would use it. It's layered behind a birch tree die cut using a die from Simon Says Stamp (S655). The images are from the Garden Friends stamp set by Hello Bluebird, except for the leaves they were in my stash of extras. All the images were colored with Copic markers and die cut with the coordinating dies. A hello fall sentiment (retired Stampin' Up!) was added and I inked some antique linen distress ink around the edges. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!🍂

This Bluebird Fall Card is entered into the following challenges: CCEE Stampers (Use a Mushroom), Crafty Gals Corner (Hello Fall!), Creative Knockouts (Wings and Things or Furry Friends) and Simon Says Stamp (Lots of Layers).

Sunflower Perch Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share a card I made using the Sunflower Perch stamp by Stampendous!. It was a lot of fun coloring this image with Copic markers. The bird was colored to look like a House Finch, we have several that visit the feeders in our backyard. The sentiment stamp is by Jaded Blossom from the Birds of a Feather stamp set. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Chickadee Card - TMS #618

Hello! This week the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches is super simple and perfect for a quick card. When I started making this Chickadee Card I knew I wanted to use the stitched peek-a-boo window die by My Favorite Things. The Chickadee image had already been colored and I liked the way it looked over the window (from the Spring Birds stamp set by Simon Says Stamp). After going through several sentiments I decided to use the One Day at a Time by Verve Stamps and that's it. We would love for you to join us this week. Big Hugs Card

Good day crafty friends! My hubby went back to work a couple of weeks ago after having knee replacement surgery. I thought I would feel more creative once he went back to work, but I didn't. So, I binge watched the entire tv series of Covert Affairs. When I found the show on the Peacock streaming channel it said there was only 27 days to watch for free, so I took them up on this challenge and watched the entire series (5 seasons) in 27 days. I had never binge watched a show to this extent before, but at the end of each episode I wanted to watch the next one. Now, I'm done and I can get back to making cards.😊

This Big Hugs Card was made using products by Lawn Fawn. I love the sending big hugs die and was inspired by a card made by Audrey Tokach. The images were colored with Copic markers and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. I'm entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (Anything Goes) and the Cute Card Thursday Challenge (Anything Goes). Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Cross and Dove Card - TMS #609

Well... it's Tuesday again and time to start a new sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks sketch is designed by Melissa Craig and it's a nice open design. I needed a sympathy card, so I made this Cross and Dove Card. The image is by Divinity Designs and it was colored with Copic markers. An embossed frame was placed around the edge and then matted to a piece of green cardstock. Then the sentiment was generated on the computer. The final touch was adding the blue punched circles that I lightly stamped with polka dots. That's it! We would love for you to join us this week! Snow-one Like You Card

Good day crafty friends! I hope wherever you are that you are staying warm. We received an additional 4" of snow last night on top of the 4" we already had. At least the outside temperature is warmer that it has been for the last 10 days, so I'm not complaining. ❄❄❄

To make this Snow-one Like You Card I used the Snowman Greetings stamp set by Newton's Nook. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut with the coordinating die. A little squirrel from the Sweetheart Tails stamp set along with two die cut trees also by Newton's Nook were added. The trees and snow were painted with sugar cube glitter paint by Martha Stewart Crafts. Everything was adhered to a piece of patterned paper from the Snowflake Splendor dsp by Stampin' Up!. Thanks for stopping by.😊

Cardinal In My Thoughts Card

Today is the first anniversary of the day my brother passed away. The remaining pieces of my heart were shattered that day. It has been a year of daily tears and a struggle to accept that both my siblings have passed on. For the remainder of the year I'm taking a break from the computer and being online. I may still post a few things to Instagram but that's about it.

This Cardinal In My Thoughts Card was made for my parents. After my sister passed away I started to take notice of the cardinals in my yard. I have several visit my yard everyday and I truly enjoy their visits. My mom has mentioned the representation of cardinals being a visitor from heaven, so I thought the cardinal was very fitting for this card. It's from the Toile Christmas stamp set by Stampin' Up! and was colored with Copic markers. The sentiment is retired by Stampin' Up! and the patterned paper is from the Winter Farmhouse paper pad by Simple Stories. Well, that's it. Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful December!

Dove Card - TMS #580

Hello! It seems like last week drug on forever but it's Tuesday again and time to start another new sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks sketch was designed by Debbie Foster and it's really simple. For this Dove Card I have rotated the sketch, created an inky background and added stitching around the edge. The dove image and sentiment are by Unity Stamps from the Mourning Dove sentiment kit which I fussy-cut. That's it, simple and easy. We would love for you to join us this week and share how you interpret the sketch. Click HERE for all the challenge details and design team inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful day!
