Blue Baby Boy Card

Little Boy Blue is the theme for this weeks challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz. The theme was very timely, one of my cousins had a new baby boy recently and I needed to make a card. I decided to mix several shades of blue along with some dark tones to provide some contrast. The background paper is by DCWV and I used some scraps from the stash for the rest. I love the little plaid elephant! The elephant and sentiment are from the New Baby stamp set by Fiskars. The finished size is 5.25" square and I kept the embellishment to a minimal for easy shipping.

We would love for you to join us this week at Cardz 4 Guyz. Click here to see more Little Boy Blue inspiration from the design team. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Miss You Card

Hello! A quick late night post to share my latest card. I combined two challenges to create this Miss You Card. The Paper Players sketch challenge and a color challenge from Just Us Girls. The photo inspiration provided at Just Us Girls made it easy to choose the flower as my side element for the sketch at The Paper Players. To add the circle detail from the sketch, I did some paper piercing. All cardstock and patterned papers are by Stampin' Up! The blue paper is from the retired Print Poetry paper stack and the tan is from the Color Me Autumn dsp. Using the Simple Stems stamp set, I stamped the flower using Blushing Bride ink and used the coordinating framelit to cut out the shape. For the leaves I used the retired Sizzix leaf die with some light gray cardstock. The TPC Studios Miss You sentiment was stamped using Midnight Muse ink. That's it! I hope you're staying warm wherever you are and thanks for stopping by!

Birds on a Wire Card

Good afternoon! It's been crazy around my house lately and I haven't had time to spend in my craft room. However, I couldn't let the Feathered Friends CAS challenge at The Paper Players expire without playing along. I love birds! More specifically, I love yellow birds. Several years ago for Valentine's Day my hubby bought me a pole and several feeders to attract the American Goldfinch. Since then, my backyard birds have been spoiled. The birds also entertain the cats while we are at work. So, it's a winning situation.

When creating my card I used the Goldfinch as my inspiration. Using Crushed Curry cardstock and a new die cut from In'spire by Spellbinders called Birds on a Wire. The background paper is from the Best Year Ever dsp available in the Sale-A-Bration catalog by Stampin' Up!. I matted the patterned paper to Coastal Cabana cardstock and heat embossed the thanks sentiment from the Another Thank You stamp set in Silver. The final touch was adding three silver sequins. Does it look like the birds are watching the snow fall? It recently snowed here in Oklahoma and that's what I pictured when I selected the patterned paper. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Puppy LOVE Card

Hello again!!! I'm the hostess this week at Cardz 4 Guyz and I selected the theme Puppy LOVE. I had Valentine's Day in mind but it could also be a budding romance or a fondness for our canine companions. It's always fun to see the clever ways a challenge theme is interpreted.

To create my Puppy LOVE Card I used patterned papers from the new Stacked With Love designer series paper stack by Stampin' Up! The puppy stamp is by Stampendous! I colored the image with my Copic Markers using cool gray colors. I stamped love onto red cardstock and punched using a Martha Stewart heart punch. Then I added three Candy Dots by Stampin' Up!. That's it!

I hope you will play along with us this week. Click here for more inspiration from the design team at Cardz 4 Guyz. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Relaxing... Palm Tree Card

Happy Tuesday! This week at Cardz 4 Guyz the challenge theme is Relax. Thinking of the word relax, brought about ideas of a vacation. Somewhere calm and beautiful would be nice. The gentle sound of waves in the background and a day with no agenda to accomplish. Nothing but relaxing!!!

Well... since a vacation isn't on the horizon, a relaxing card will have to do! To create this Palm Tree Card I used a digital image and sentiment by Doodle Pantry. The patterned papers are by Stampin' Up! (Fresh Prints and Trim The Tree paper stacks) and by Paper Pizazz (Sandstone). To finish off the card, I couldn't resist adding the sea turtle charm. It reminds me of a picture of my brother on his vacation last year, he got to hold a baby sea turtle. I might be a little jealous.
