Kitty Sunshine Card

Hello and Happy Leap Year! The sun is shining bright today and it's supposed to warm up to a nice 73 degrees, so I was inspired to make this Kitty Sunshine Card. The cute little kitty is napping in the sun, what a wonderful way to spend the day.

Card supplies: Whisper White and Daffodil Delight cardstock, patterned paper from Sunshowers paper pad by Heidi Grace Designs, Newton's Day Dream stamp set by Newton's Nook, sun is from Jillibean Soup stamp set, Copic markers, Pool Party Stampin' Write marker, Pool Party twine, and Stampin' dimensionals. That's it!

My Kind of Peep Card

Hello and happy Friday! Last week I ordered a new stamp set called My Kind of Peeps from Simon Says Stamp. They are so much fun! The little peeps are a great way to use scrap patterned paper or you could color them if you want.

My card was inspired by one of the examples provided by Simon Says Stamp. I added some punched grass, used different papers and moved the sentiment but kept the center panel and peeps in the same position. The little Peeps are just too cute!

Floral Sympathy Card

Making a handmade sympathy card is a lovely way to express your condolences when someone you know passes away. I usually make sympathy cards only when needed but I liked the way this sentiment looked with the flowers on this card.

For the design of this card I have cased an example from page 6 of the Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration brochure. I started with a base of Crumb Cake and layered a piece of patterned paper from the Love Blossoms paper stack. Then using a slightly smaller piece of Botanical Gardens Vellum I stamped three leaves with VersaMark and embossed them with Wild Wasabi emboss powder (retired). The vellum was then adhered on top of the patterned paper. Next I stamped all the flowers from the What I Love stamp set onto Whisper White cardstock. It was hard to decided what colors to make the flowers but I love purple, so that's what I used. The outline is Elegant Eggplant, then Wisteria Wonder was used with the larger solid piece, then Perfect Plum  for the smaller solid piece. To add some sparkle I heat embossed some Iridescent Ice emboss powder on top of the smaller solid piece. The little yellow flowers are So Saffron ink sponged onto Whisper White cardstock and then stamped with Crushed Curry. Garden Green was used to stamp the smaller leaves and then the leaves and flowers were fussy-cut. The sentiment is from the Bloom with Hope retired hostess set and was stamped using Crumb Cake. Once all the stamping was done the purple flowers were adhered with dimensionals and the leaves and yellow flowers were adhered flat to the card. That's it!

Bunny Smile Card

Hello! I hope you're having a lovely day. Yesterday the temperature here in Oklahoma reached 81 degrees! It was pretty warm for February and felt like Spring. So, last night I decided to make a Spring inspired card. It was nice to spend some time in my craft room to make this Bunny Smile Card. I used the image for this months progressive challenge at Gerda Steiner Designs. The cute little bunny is jumping rope and it just makes me smile.

To create this card I used patterned paper from the Welcome Spring paper pad by American Crafts. The image was printed and then die cut with an Avery Elle oval die which was matted to a coordinating scallop oval using Baja Breeze cardstock. Using Copic markers the bunny was colored with Warm Gray tones along with a little Flesh Pink. The flowers were stamped using the Sprinkles of Life stamp set by Stampin' Up!. Two Bitty Butterflies were punched using yellow glitter cardstock by DCWV and accented with small adhesive pearls. The sentiment is by Momenta and was stamped using black ink. That's it!

Still Sewing

Most my time this month has been spent on sewing. I've been trying to build my Etsy shop with burp cloth inventory and right now I have over 40 different selections to choose from. I have absolutely fell in love with working with flannel. There are so many cute fabrics to choose from and it's exciting to see the finished burp cloth after it's made.

My next project is working on a few baby blankets. I've got a pile of fabric just waiting to be sewn. The easiest part is buying the fabric! The hardest part is deciding which fabric to sew first. I'll share a few when I'm done. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Bunny with Butterfly Card

Good day crafty friends! Today is the start of another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown and this week we want you to Layer It Up! Our wonderful sponsor is A Day For Daisies and I've used their adorable image called Hoppity. This image features two of my favorite creatures, a bunny and a butterfly. It's perfect for any Spring card! I hope you will join us this week. You have until mid-day Monday the 22nd to link your layered creation. Click here to view all the challenge details and to see the lovely inspiration from the design team.

This Bunny with Butterfly Card was made using patterned paper from the Welcome Spring paper pad by American Crafts. The flowers were stamped using the retired Secret Garden stamp set by Stampin' Up! and die cut with the coordinating framelit dies. I colored the image with Copic markers and then the image was die cut using a stitched circle die from My Favorite Things. My Cricut machine was used to cut the pink scalloped circle. The final detail was adding the silver sequins in the middle of the flowers and coordinating colored pearls. The finished size of this card is 5.25" square. That's it and thanks for stopping by!

Cupcake Valentine Card

It's time to get the Valentine cards I made my family in the mail!!! This Cupcake Valentine Card was made for one of my nieces. The cupcake image is a stamp by Impression Obsession. I stamped it several times onto different paper, cut out the pieces and paper pieced it together. The icing was colored with Copic markers and then glossy accents added to make it shine. All patterned papers are from the With Love paper pad by American Crafts. Some twine was added and three punched hearts for detail. Nothing fancy, just simple and sweet.

Bear Love Card

Hello! It's Tuesday again and that means it's time for another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown. This week we want to see your paper piecing skills. Our wonderful sponsor is Robyn's Fetish who generously provided the design team with several images to choose from. For this Bear Love Card I used the It's Bearly Love image. I chose this image for the ease of paper piecing the heart. When it comes to paper piecing, I'm not an expert. My scissor skills could definitely be improved. So, keep that in mind, you don't have to be a paper piecing expert to play along. If you've never tried paper piecing then challenge yourself to try something new. You have until mid-day Monday February 8th to link your creation. Click here to check out the design team inspiration and for all the challenge details.

To create this card I used my favorite color, purple, and I wanted the heart to be plaid. It was a little bit of a challenge to match the plaid paper with other purples in my stash. There was a piece of paper that I knew would be perfect, however I couldn't find it. I know I've seen it before but sadly I may have never purchased it. Do you ever do that? Think you have something but you don't, or even buy things twice because you don't remember buying them. The answer to both of these dilemmas for me... is YES!

In the end both patterned papers selected are by Paper Pizzazz. The scalloped oval and center oval are by Avery Elle. To color the bears I used Copic markers. I masked a Love You stamp by The Paper Studio to only use the Love part. To add some detail, I added some Honeydew twine from The Twinery. That's it!
