Summer Penguins Card

Whew! It's a hot one today in Oklahoma. Being a land locked state, there are no pretty beaches to visit. So, I made my own little beach using the Summer Penguins stamp set by Pink & Main. The cute little penguin image was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with the coordinating die. The palm tree paper is from an older Carta Bella paper pad called Summer Lovin' (2014) and some waves paper from the Echo Park Under Sea Adventures paper pad (2021) was also used. Everything was adhered flat and that's it. So glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.🌴🌴🌴

Penguin Watermelon Card

Thanks for stopping by to check out this Penguin Watermelon Card. Watermelon is a loved summer treat here in Oklahoma. My grandparents used to grow them in their garden and sell them in their farm stand. I have many fond memories of summer that involves watermelons. I guess that's why I love this penguin digital image from Whimsy Stamps designed by Crissy Armstrong. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut with a stitched square die. The sentiment says "Today calls for something sweet" and it's from the retired More Than Words stamp set by Stampin' Up!. Christmas Card with Penguins

Oh my! I just finished baking sugar cookies for my family Thanksgiving on Thursday and decided to share my latest card while the cookies cool. This Christmas Card with Penguins features one of my favorite images from Bugaboo Stamps called Little Penguin Decorate Tree and it was colored with Copic markers. All patterned papers are by American Crafts, Granny Apple Green cardstock by Stampin' Up! was used along with a Merry Christmas sentiment by Hero Arts. Poppi Cocoa Card

A warm cup of cocoa always sounds good on cold winter days! Although winter is more than a month away, the weather here in Oklahoma feels like it has arrived. That's all the excuse I need to make me a cup of cocoa and stay in my craft room.

This Poppi Cocoa Card features an image by Bugaboo Stamps called Poppi Xmas Cocoa and it was colored with Copic markers. All patterned papers are retired by Stampin' Up! and the sentiment is by Lawn Fawn from the Winter Fox mini stamp set. To add some sparkle, three light green sequins were added and stickles was used on Poppi's hat. That's it! So glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Penguin Halloween Card

Hooray for Friday! Halloween is a little over six weeks away which gives me plenty of time to make my Halloween cards. If I make two a week that will give me the right amount to send to family and friends. Most of them are one of a kind designs, but sometimes I'll make two if I get rushed. Here is my first Penguin Halloween Card. Isn't this the cutest Halloween stamp? It's called Penguin Spook Nite by Whimsy Stamps. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was fussy cut. The background panel was made with distress inks and watered down white acrylic paint for the splatter. A piece of chevron paper from the Not Too Spooky paper pad by Pink & Main was used to help pull the colors together. Two punched bats were added for detail and that's it. Easter Penguin Card

Hooray!!! All my Easter cards are in the mail on their way to family and friends. I still have a few more cards to share like this Easter Penguin Card I sent to a cousin in Texas. The cute Penguin Easter Bunny image is a digital stamp and you can find it HERE. I made another card using this image and you can find it HERE.

To color the image Copic markers were used. Both patterned papers are by Echo park, the floral is from the Hello Spring paper pad and the pink stripe is from the Dots & Stripes paper pad. The image was die cut with a pierced oval die and matted to a scalloped oval both by Avery Elle. Two yellow butterflies were added for detail and that's it.

Penguin Easter Bunny Card

Happy Wednesday! Since Easter falls earlier this year I'll have to pick between making more St. Patrick's Day or Easter cards. Between the two... Easter wins! I'm still having a hard time sitting for long periods of time, the bone spurs on my hip are not fun!!! I did buy a new padded chair today, so maybe that will help.

The stamps I ordered to make my Easter cards haven't arrived yet. So, when I found this cute Penguin Easter Bunny digital image at Whimsy Stamps, I decided to make a couple of my Easter cards with it. I adore penguins and this image is really cute. The image was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with a stitched rectangle die. All patterned papers are from the Echo Park Hello Easter 6 x 6 paper pad. It seems I covered up all the yellow in the patterned paper, but I thought yellow butterfly/butterflies went okay. Which card do you like best... one butterfly or two? Penguin Hello Autumn Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share this Penguin Hello Autumn Card I made for a few challenges. A couple of weeks ago I saw this Penguin image used and it's so cute I had to buy it. The image is called Penguin Apple Bushel and you can find it at Whimsy Stamps. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut using a cross stitched oval by My Favorite Things. Most of the papers are from the Woodland Forest paper pad by Pebbles (2016) with the exception of the gingham which was in my scrap bin. The Hello Autumn sentiment is from the retired Cheer All Year stamp set by Stampin' Up! and Memento black ink was used. Three green candy dots were added for detail and that's it!

Tic Tac Toe at Tuesday Throwdown

Hello and happy Tuesday! I know I've said this before... but it's amazing how fast two weeks goes by!!! This week is Team B's turn to inspire you to play along with our Tuesday Throwdown challenge and it's one of my favorites... Tic Tac Toe. It came with a colored version and that's what I used for this Cheery Penguin Christmas Card. We would love for you to play along with us this week! The Tic Tac Toe choices used to create this card include: Christmas, Silver and Ribbon or Twine. Since the image was Christmas that box was easy, so I decided to get a little messy for the sliver requirement. I used silver texture paste by Heidi Swapp with a diagonal striped stencil. The texture paste was applied on top of a red piece of Bazzill dot textured cardstock. At first I wasn't sure but I like the dot design and the picture doesn't do the the card justice, it looks pretty cool in person. Once the panel was dried I matted it to a piece of Cucumber Crush cardstock by Stampin' Up! and then wrapped green twine from The Twinery before adhering it to the white card base. The image was adhered with dimensionals and I adhered the sentiment flat to the card. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Snuggle Up Card

Today is a good day to Snuggle Up and stay inside. The sun is out but it's cold outside. My backyard birds are trying to get water from our frozen bird baths, so I guess after this post I'll go outside and put out fresh water for them. We have spoiled the birds and wildlife around our house with an ample supply of seed and water daily. The word has spread and the birds love our backyard and the indoor cats love watching them.

Onto my card.... this Snuggle Up Card was made using a Bugaboo Digi Stamp called Poppi Xmas Cocoa and it was colored with Copic markers. After coloring it was die cut with a pierced oval and scalloped oval frame combo from Avery Elle. The sentiment was created with the computer and Merry Christmas patterned paper by The Paper Studio and swirls by Pebbles. A few glitter circle stickers by Jolee's were added for detail and that's it.

To create my card I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches for the layout. All patterned paper is from the Altitude Collection by Bo Bunny. The image was colored with Copic markers. To create the snow I used Tulip Puffy Paint, sprinkled fine white glitter on while it was wet and then used the heat gun to make it puff up. A scalloped frame die by Taylored Expressions was used with Rich Razzleberry cardstock by Stampin' Up! The final touch was adding the three snowflakes that were cut using a Cricut machine and Christmas Noel cartridge. That's it! Merriest Wishes Penguin Card

Happy Tuesday! Again two weeks have gone by super fast and today is Team B's turn to provide inspiration for the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge. The theme this week is to add a border and our sponsor is Conie Fong Art. My card features the darling Joy to the World image. I absolutely love this cute penguin! To create this Merriest Wishes Penguin Card started by selecting the background patterned paper by Bo Bunny's Altitude Collection. Then I colored the image with Copic markers to coordinate with the paper. The image was then die cut with a scalloped frame die by Taylored Expressions. Cardstock colors used include: Pool Party, Blissful Blackberry and Rich Razzleberry all by Stampin' Up! The snowflakes were cut using a Cricut machine and Christmas Noel cartridge. Deciding on a sentiment took me a bit, but I finally settled on the Merriest Wishes from the new Christmas Magic stamp set by Stampin' Up!. The final touch was adding some sequins for sparkle and a little clear Wink of Stella to the penguin's hat. That's it!

Penguin Pop-Up Card

Yesterday my neighbor and I went to the Creating Keepsakes Convention that stopped in Tulsa, Oklahoma and took a Penguin Pop-Up Card class taught by Lickety Split Scrapbooks. We made this card in class and in the kit there are directions for three more cards. This is my first attempt at this type of card and it was a lot of fun, especially when everything came pre-cut and ready to assemble. The hardest part will be waiting to give this card to my niece on her birthday next April.

It seems the vendor part of the convention is getting smaller every year. I'm happy to say I stuck to my budget and still had money left over when I walked out the door. Don't worry, I'll find a place to spend it!

Penguin Christmas Cards

There are still several Christmas in July challenges going on right now, so I've made another Christmas card. This time I've used one of my favorite penguin images by Bugaboo called Little Penguin Winter - Decorate Tree. The image was colored with Copic markers and then die cut using a stitched rectangle die by Lil' Inkers. To play along with day 4 of Bugaboo's Christmas in July Bingo Challenge I selected the middle row across, which includes: Sparkly, Bugaboo image and Lime Green. The layout for this Penguin Christmas Card is from this weeks sketch #360 at Tuesday Morning Sketches designed by Jessi Fogan. I love using tilted panels and this one worked perfectly with the image. For the patterned papers I used a stripe by Doodlebug Designs and Shiny Trees by Recollections from their Jingle Bells paper pad. Instead of using buttons as the sketch suggested I made three circle embellishments with little round die cuts and lime green sparkly stickers by Jolee's. The last addition was the Merry Christmas sentiment from the retired Good Greetings stamp set by Stampin' Up!. That's it!

Christmas Penguin Gift Tag

Okay, making this Christmas Penguin Gift Tag was a first for me. I've occasionally included a tag on a card but even that is rare. The smaller scale of a gift tag was a bit challenging. My eyesight is not as good as it used to be and coloring smaller images is definitely a problem. So, I selected an easy to color image called Poppi Xmas Candy Cane by Bugaboo and colored it with Copic markers. All papers for this tag are by The Paper Studio. The tag is from a package of blank tags and the size is 4.25" x 2.125". Three green sequins were added for a little more color and some sparkle. It didn't take long to complete this tag and I'm guessing now that I've made one I'll probably make each of my family members one for their Christmas gifts. Well, that's it! Penguin Season's Greetings Card

Okay, my creativity starts to shut down around 2 am but I pressed on. Here is my entry for the Bugaboo Saturday jingle all the way challenge. I used the Little Penguin Winter - Reindeer image and colored it with my Copic markers. The snowflake patterned paper is by Recollections. I heat embossed the sentiment and added a strip of glitter tape along with three silver sequins for sparkle. That's it!

Penguin Duo Christmas Card

One of my favorite critters are penguins and I'm glad their images have become part of Christmas celebrations. They make really cute cards! To create this Penguin Duo Christmas Card, I've used a Bugaboo Digi Stamp called Duo Penguin Tree. The image was colored with my Copic markers and some Stickles were added for a little sparkle. I used Twine, Charm and Image to play along with Bugaboo's Friday Christmas challenge.  All patterned papers are by Basic Grey from the 25th and Pine collection. The green twine is from the Twinery and I added a star charm that I bought at Michael's. For a little bling, I added three rhinestones at the top. That's it! I'm going to try to participate in all the Bugaboo Christmas in July challenges but I'm still behind. Three more cards to go!

Hello! On Monday I took a quick trip to see my parents and nieces. While I was there I helped my nine year old niece make a couple of cards. She said she had fun and she did a wonderful job. So, I thought it would be nice to make her a card. This You're So Sweet Card was made for her. It features the Poppi Penguin - Popsicle digital stamp by Bugaboo Digi Stamps. I colored it with my Copic markers and added a little silver metallic marker to the lens of the sunglasses. Merry Christmas Penguin Card

It's been a wonderful lazy Tuesday evening. All the laundry and dishes are caught up. Yea! So what's a girl to do? You guessed it! I made a card. This Merry Christmas Penguin Card features the traditional red and green colours and an adorable penguin digital stamp by Bugaboo Stamps. I coloured him with my Copic markers and added a little puffy paint detail to the hat. The design comes from the Stella Says Sketch challenge at the Catch The Bug Blog.
