Greetings Stamp Set

If you are just starting to make cards, you may wonder where to start. It takes time to build up your supplies and you can easily spend a lot of money when you first get started.  So, I thought I would share with you my go-to sentiment stamp set that can help stretch your crafting budget.  The Greetings Clear Stamp set by TPC Studios (ST93416) is an excellent basic sentiment set. Since it's a clear stamp set you want to make sure you purchase the clear acrylic blocks.  Using clear stamps and blocks gives you the ability to align the position of your stamps easily.  To use simply remove the stamp from the protective backing and position onto your clear block, then ink and stamp.  You can use baby wipes or cleaning spray to clean the stamp and then return it to the protective backing.  Clear stamps are easy to store and require less space than the wood block stamps.

Flowers of Tomorrow Card

Whew! Today is the last day of July 2012 and I say good riddance!!!  Here in Oklahoma, July was hot.  Too hot for my liking.  I stayed indoors a lot and made cards.  This Flowers of Tomorrow card was made for The Paper Players Tic Tac Toe challenge.  I picked the diagonal direction containing: floral, dry embossing, and favourite colour.  Favourite colour being purple, followed by green and I love yellow as an accent colour. U Rock Card

It was time to use more zebra patterned paper and the Mojo Monday challenge was the perfect place to use it.  The challenge today was either a round or square card.  Until today I had never made either.  So, I chose the square and made mine 5" x 5".  My nieces were the inspiration for my card.  They participate in a lot of activities during the school year and this card will be a fun encouragement card.  Thanks for stopping by my blog and have a happy and crafty day!

Teddy Present Birthday Card

If you like color challenges, Catch The Bug Challenge Blog just started a great one.  The colors have a lot of different possibilities.  I decided to create a birthday card for this challenge. My Teddy Present Birthday Card was made using a digital teddy present stamp by Bugaboo Stamps and I colored the image with Copic markers.  Go ahead an catch the bug and make a card for this fabulous color challenge.

With Love Card

One of my favorite colors is purple, but for some reason it doesn't show up in my cards very often.  Well, I decided that needed to change.  This With Love Card was made using a monochrome purple color scheme for the monochrome challenge at Charisma Cardz and I used the sketch from Card Positioning Systems. If I ever have a question about color schemes I like to consult the online color scheme designer. It is super easy to use and can help select colors that go well together.

CFC63 Thank You Card

My schedule today was packed full of card making fun.  I taught a card class at the Sooner Scrapbooks store in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  It was a lot of fun and a great break from my normal Friday routine.  However, my Friday would not be complete without submitting my entry for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge.  This week is a clean and simple color challenge using lime, aqua, and navy. Wishing you a crafty and happy weekend!

Big Hugs Card

The Big Hugs card I made today is for a friend who is going through a personal issue.  To help create this card I used the challenge sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and a colour challenge from ColourQ.  I have to admit that these colours were truly a challenge for me.  My ink stash was not stocked with the right colors and I had to dig deep to find the right cardstock.
