Owl Hi Card

My hubby was working late tonight so I squeezed in making another card.  This Owl Hi Card was made using the colours from the ColourQ challenge and a sketch from the Retro Sketches challenge.  I really like combining the colour and sketch challenges and these two worked well together.

Owl Hi Card Supplies: Mustard cardstock, International Bazaar dsp by Stampin' Up!, woodgrain patterned paper by The Paper Studio, green patterned paper by Basic Grey, white cardstock, chocolate cardstock, owl builder punch and bird builder punch by Stampin' Up!, sentiment stamp by TPC Studios (Greetings set, ST93416), classic stampin' pad in early espresso, yellow citrus ink from ColorBox Cat's Eye ink stack, Fiskars deckle scissors, yellow doodle twine, yellow buttons by Stampin' Up!, and random white flower button from my button stash. 

  

With Gratitude Card

Sometimes a photo will show you what the eye can't see.  I took eleven photos of this card before I was happy with the final result.  The first set of pictures revealed that I needed to trim the ribbon shorter.  The next set came out very crooked.  Finally the third set came out great.  Thank goodness for digital photography. 

This With Gratitude Card was made for The Paper Players colour challenge.  The colours for this challenge are lucky limeade, calypso coral, and daffodil delight.  I used three patterned papers from Stampin' Up!.  The limeade and daffodil papers are from the Summer Smooches dsp.  The coral paper is from the Everyday Enchantment dsp. 

With Gratitude Card Directions:

1. Make card from cream cardstock or use ready made card.  Finished size: 4.5" x 6.25".
2. Trim six paper strips .75" wide and 4.25" long.  Align papers face down in desired order. Make sure pieces will fit on card, trim as needed and then secure together with tape.  Hint: I found it works best when you tape each piece to the next piece individually.  I tried taping with one long piece of tape and the pieces would buckle. 
3. Wrap and secure ribbon around strips and adhere to card.
4. Stamp sentiment (Verve Stamps, Thankful Accents, vs-09-049) with classic stampin' pad in lucky limeade, punch sentiment with 2" circle punch, layer with scalloped circle, and adhere with stampin' dimensionals. 

Mojo Monday 249 - Thank You Card

American Crafts meets Stampin' Up! in this great sketch challenge from MOJO Monday.  This amazing sketch is designed by Carole Burrage.  I love the functional design.  There are so many options on how to use the white space.  I chose to use a subtle patterned paper with stamped images and sentiment from the Lacy & Lovely stamp set by Stampin' Up!  I layered the circle images with dimensionals to add some depth.  The background paper is from American Crafts, the Amy Tangerine collection.  I love how the paper and stamp set look like they were made for each other.  The bright colours give it a wonderful summer feel and the black gives just the right contrast.  Hopefully, this Thank  You Card will make someone smile. 

 

Ladybug Hello Card

Hello Friends!  Today was a wonderful lazy Sunday.  So, I took advantage of a couple challenges and came up with this Ladybug Hello Card.  The challenge combination came from a color challenge at CR84FN and a sketch challenge from Catch The Bug, also listed at the Bugaboo Stamps blog.  I adore the digital ladybug stamp from Bugaboo.  Can you see the little black rhinestone eyes?

Zebra Birthday Card

Using red is the challenge over at the DYSU challenge blog.  Red is not a color I gravitate to naturally.  When I looked through my paper stash all the red related to Valentine's or Christmas.  Luckily, red polka dots are very versatile.  This Zebra Birthday Card uses red with style, zebra style that is.

Two Hearts Forever Card

This is my second attempt at the CAS-ual Friday challenge. The challenge is to use text in your card. I love the card I made this morning but, I don't think it fits the "CAS" design definition. So, I tried to keep this Two Hearts Forever Card a little more casual.

Inked Embossed Birthday Card

When I started my blog in March, I had no idea what kind of response I would get.  So, today I'm super happy to have over 10,000 page views.  Thank you for taking the time to view my work.  It's the small things in life that make me happy!!!

This Inked Embossed Birthday Card was made for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge CFC60 titled: Text me and the Moxie Fab World Birthday Stamping challenge. To create this card I inked up the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder with Hero Arts chalk ink in Iris and then I ran it through my Texture Boutique machine by Sizzix.  Essentially this stamped and embossed the image at the same time.  It has a distressed look to it that I like but I thought it needed some colour.  To add some colour I embossed a couple of small sections and fussy cut the images, punched a couple of small flowers and added some bling to finish it off.
