Favorite Cards from 2021

Wow! These last two months went by way too fast. Time always seems to go faster after Halloween. It's like someone hits the fast forward button and the end of the year is here. We have no big plans for the evening, just a quiet night at home. So, I thought it would be fun to share a few of my Favorite Cards from 2021. I picked five that I made throughout the year and included links to the original posts if you want more details. Here they are in no particular order...

First, is my favorite floral card

Second, is my favorite birthday card:

Third, is my favorite critter card:

Fourth, is my favorite sympathy card:

and my final favorite is a Christmas card with cats:

Thank You Card with Tree

Well... after all those presents are unwrapped, sending a thank you card is always a good idea. So, I made this card for my parents using some of my older stash. At the rate I buy patterned paper I will never use it all and I know several of my stamps sets haven't been used enough. It felt good to use these neglected supplies. Most everything is retired by Stampin' Up! except for the Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink by Ranger. It's nothing fancy, just a simple Thank You Card with Tree. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!🌲

This card is entered into the anything goes challenge at Krafty Chicks.

Smile Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share this Smile Card I made with a new word die from Pink & Main. It was included free with my last order and free is always fun. As it turned out I had the perfect paper to use and it's from the Glitter Girl paper pad by American Crafts (2017). To add a little detail and sparkle three yellow circles were punched and topped with red sequins. It's just a simple and fun card that will hopefully make someone smile. I'm entering this card into the challenge at Modsquad to use something new. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!😊

Cats Merry Christmas Card

Merry Christmas! I hope the true meaning of the day brings you joy and peace. A lot of my joy comes from our four cats, so I made this Cats Merry Christmas Card for our feline veterinarian. Although, when the card was finished I didn't want to give it away. I colored the cat images to look like our cats and spent hours to complete the card, so I couldn't let it go. I ended up making a color copy and adhering it to a card base. Looking at them you couldn't tell the difference, you had to feel the difference with the raised die cuts. You may find me doing the same thing again next year. It saved a ton of time!

All images are by Lawn Fawn from the Christmas Dreams and Meow You Doin' stamp sets along with the coordinating dies. Copic markers were used to color the images and some glossy accents added to the star and chocolate milk glass. Some clear Stickles were added to the top of the stockings and everything was adhered flat. That's it! I'm so glad you stopped by and may the rest of your day be wonderful.🎄

Song of Snowflakes Card

Hello! I hope you're having a wonderful Christmas Eve. Today I'm sharing this Song of Snowflakes Card that I made for a friend. I really love this card! Initially, I had a hard time deciding on the patterned papers, but I'm happy with my blue choice. The papers are from the My Favorite Winter paper pad by Echo Park (2019). The stamp set used if by Newton's Nook and it's called Winter Birds. Copic markers were used to color the images and then the coordinating dies to cut them out. Back in 2018 I made a similar card and I almost made an exact duplicate, but I'm glad I changed things up. To finish off this card three punched snowflakes were added and everything was adhered flat. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!❄🐦❄

Peace on Earth Card - TMS Anything Goes

Hello! Are all your Christmas cards mailed? I have to admit that I made cards until the day I went to the post office. This Peace on Earth Card was my final card I made and it was mailed to my parents. I'm sharing it today featured in our annual Anything Goes challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. Originally I wanted to make something other than a card, but time just didn't allow. I do hope you have time to share your latest project with us at Tuesday Morning Sketches. It's the one time of year our challenge isn't sketch specific. You can find the challenge details and design team inspiration HERE. Thanks for stopping by and supporting my creativity!

The stamp set used on this card is called A Time of Peace from Unity Stamps.

Howl-idays Card - TMS #636

Oh my... this month is going by way too fast! I've been working on Christmas cards and made this Howl-idays Card using this weeks challenge sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. Instead of the traditional red and green, I decided to mix it up and use red and blue colors. The image is by Newton's Nook and it was colored with Copic markers then die cut with the coordinating die. Two patterned papers were cut the same size and then I cut the ends off two corners of the plaid paper to follow the sketch. The edges of the center panel were cut using a pair of Fiskars scissors and some tumbled glass distress ink added before adhering the image. To finish it off three red glimmer stickers were added and that's it. We would love for you to give the sketch a try and link it to the challenge. The design for these cards were completely cased from a card I found on Pinterest. I love everything about it, especially the dsp, it was from a Paper Pumpkin kit called Summer Nights which I tracked down on eBay. Well... that's it! Wishing you a lovely day!🕊

Seasons Greetings Card - TMS#635

Hello! I have a quick post to share my design team card for this weeks Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge. This weeks sketch was designed by Debbie Foster and it's a great sketch for a quick card. It's unusual for there to be nothing stamped on one of my cards, but I recently bought some stickers and decided to use one for this card. We would love for you to join us this week. For all the challenge details and design team inspiration click HERE. Just remember to link your creation by 8 pm EST on Sunday. Thanks for stopping by!

Drummer Bear Card

Good day! A couple of months back my niece and her high school band competed in the state marching band competition and they won 1st in their division. My niece plays the drums, so I made her this Drummer Bear Card to congratulate her on their accomplishment. Hopefully, she will overlook the fact that it took me this long to get it made.😊

The image is from the Party On stamp set by Winnie & Walter and I bought it during their going out of business sale a few years back. To color the image I used Copic markers and then used a stitched circle die to cut it out. The patterned paper has been in my stash for quite some time and it's called Playlist by Hampton Arts (2013). Three die cut silver stars were added for some sparkle and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!
