Mouse Big Flower Card

When life gets tough as it sometimes does, it's best to take it one day at a time. I love using this sentiment by Verve Stamps. It makes a wonderful card to send a few weeks after a sympathy card. When I was looking through my stash this past weekend I realized I had no cards ready with this sentiment. So, I used one of my favorite Bugaboo images called Mouse Big Flower to create this card.

Love and Prayers Card

Today marks the 23rd anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. I've lived in Oklahoma my entire life and although I didn't know anyone who lost their lives that day it still leaves a lasting imprint in my heart. It was the day that 168 individuals lost their lives and their families were forever changed. These families are in my prayers today as another anniversary is observed.

This Love and Prayers Card was made for my Mother. She recently mentioned that many of her friends are losing their parents and she needed more cards. So, I used the same layout from a previous card (click HERE) but I changed the colors and sentiment.

Birthday Card with a Unicorn

Hello! My youngest niece is turning fourteen this month. I wanted to make her a fun bright card, so I decided to use a unicorn image by Bugaboo with rainbow paper by Lawn Fawn. There is a challenge at Catch The Bug to use Unicorns and Rainbows and I was inspired by the design team to make my own Birthday Card with a Unicorn. The image was colored with Copic markers and die cut with a pierced oval die by Avery Elle. To cut the green matting I traced the oval onto a piece of Lime Crush cardstock by Bazzill and cut it out with deckle scissors by Fiskars. The birthday sentiment is by Hero Arts and three sequins for the finishing touch. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Turtle Just Because Card

The sentiment Just Because is one of my favorites because it's so versatile. When I first started making cards I used this sentiment a lot but as my sentiment stash grew I didn't use it as often. This week I went to Hobby Lobby and found this Just Because stamp on clearance for $1.00. I really like the font and text size and for the price it was an easy decision.

To make this Turtle Just Because Card I started with the current sketch from Stella Says Sketch #608. The Girl Turtle image is by Bugaboo Digi Stamps and it was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with a stitched circle die by My Favorite Things. Green and pink are pretty colors together and the floral paper by American Crafts matches the turtle's flower nicely. To accent the image a paper flower and green polka dot brad both by The Paper Studio was added. The flower needed some leaves so I used the retired Bird Builder punch by Stampin' Up! for the green leaves. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Oh So Eclectic Sympathy Card

Happy Saturday! When I sat down to create this card I knew I wanted to use the Oh So Eclectic stamp set with coordinating dies by Stampin' Up! but I didn't plan on it being a sympathy card. The sympathy sentiment just seemed fitting and I'm low on sympathy cards in my stash, so I just went with it.

All supplies for this card are by Stampin' Up!. First I started by inking the bricks using a stencil from the Pattern Party decorative masks along with Soft Sky ink (a retiring color). Then I stamped and die cut all the flowers and punched the bitty butterfly. Cardstock and ink colors include: Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Sweet Sugarplum, Pink Pirouette, Crisp Cantaloupe, So Saffron and Crushed Curry. The hardest part was deciding how to arrange the flowers. Once the sympathy sentiment from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set was in place the flowers were adhered flat in place. Three small rhinestones were added to the butterfly and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

You're Kind Bunny Card

Good day! It's been awhile since I've played along at Tuesday Morning Sketches. So today I made this You're Kind Bunny Card using this weeks challenge sketch. I also found a couple challenges to use Bunnies/Rabbits and since they are one of my favorite cute critters I had to play along. The image is by Di's Digi Stamps and it's called Bunny. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut with a stitched circle die. All patterned papers are from the Family Ties paper pad by Pebbles (2012). The You're So Kind sentiment is by Taylored Expressions from the Zinnia Bouquet stamp set and it was die cut with a designer mini tag also by Taylored Expressions. A little twine bow to accent the mini tag and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Handmade Friends Card

Hello crafty friends! It's rare for me to make a friendship card but I'm giving this Handmade Friends Card to my Mother for one of her friends. The sentiment says "Friends make the world a better place" and it's from the Jillibean Soup (Hampton Arts) Handwritten Sentiments stamp set. Most of the patterned paper is from the Spring Fling paper pad by Pebbles with exception of the yellow polka dots which I found in my scrap bin. The digital Flower Teapot image is by Bugaboo Digi Stamps and it was colored with Copic markers. A stitched circle die was used to cut out the image and then Fiskars deckle scissors were used to cut the matting circle. Three pale pink glimmer stickers were used for detail and that't it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a lovely week!

Happy Birthday Card

This year is flying by super fast, I can't believe it's already April! Although the weather can't decide if it wants to be warm or cold. It was really nice for a couple of days and now if feels like January again. That's okay, I use these cold days as an excuse to play indoors in my craft room.

Since I spent the majority of March making Easter cards I was happy to see a couple of birthday challenges this morning. The colors for this Happy Birthday Card were inspired by the photo inspiration at the Inky Paws Challenge. It was also clear I needed to use the Newton Loves Cake stamp set by Newton's Nook. The image was colored with Copic markers and then fussy-cut (don't look too close, I don't excel at fussy-cutting). Mixed media paper and distress oxide inks were used to make the yellow background. Oxide colors include: Squeezed Lemonade and Fossilized Amber. When I sprayed the paper with water and heat set with the heat gun it really didn't "spot" like I was hoping. So, I tried splattering white acrylic paint and you really can't see it. Then I decided to spray gold glimmer mist but the bottle was clogged, so I used a paint brush and painted the gold glimmer liquid around the edges of the yellow background. It did add a really nice shimmer that doesn't photograph well, but it looks really pretty in person. The plaid scalloped border was made using a Taylored Expressions cutting plate and patterned paper from the Hello Easter paper pad by Echo Park. To add a little more color three glimmer dots by Jolee's were added and that's it. Hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Happy Easter Card

Happy Easter! I hope you have a lovely day enjoying time with family. This Happy Easter Card is one I made for my grandmother and a neighbor next door. I love Daffodils in Spring! They are such a happy flower and bring smiles with their Spring arrival each year.

The Daffodil image on this card is larger measuring 3.25", so I decided to repeat a layout I previously used on this Easter Penguin Card. It's simple and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. The image is from the You're Inspiring stamp set by Stampin' Up! and it was colored with a mix of Copic markers and Stampin' Blends markers. An Avery Elle pierced oval and scalloped oval frame were used to die cut the image. The yellow crackle paper is from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack by Stampin' Up! and the gingham was a scrap from my stash. The Happy Easter sentiment was added and this card was done. Thanks for stopping by and come back again soon.
