Enjoy Your Day Card

Hello and happy Friday! Today I was in the mood to make a floral card and decided to use the Peony stamp set by Reverse Confetti. Copic markers were used to color the images and then the coordinating die cuts were used to cut them out. The black diagonal scallops were made using a cover panel die by Reverse Confetti and then it was adhered to a piece of blue polka dot paper by Bo Bunny. Lastly, the sentiment from the Simply Sentiments stamp set by Reverse Confetti was stamped and die cut with a stitched circle die. I like the Enjoy Your Day sentiment, it can be used for many different occasions from birthday to wedding. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Challenges entered: Little Red Wagon (Say it with Flowers), Make My Monday (Floral Birthday), Simon Says (Anything Goes), Watercooler Wednesday (All About Occasions) and Reverse Confetti/Stock Your Stash (Birthday).

Chameleon Card - TMS #607

Good day crafty friends! It's time to start another fun sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks sketch is designed by Melissa Craig and we hope you're inspired to play along. I had several ideas on how to use the sketch and finally settled on using the chameleons by Lawn Fawn. They fit nicely into the focal areas and I like the way they are looking at each other. There are lots of possibilities with this weeks sketch and I look forward to seeing all the different creative ideas shared. For all the challenge details and design team inspiration click HERE. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to link you creation by 8 pm EST on Sunday. 😊

Cards Returned

Hello! When making and sending handmade cards you never expect to get them back. After my brother passed away most of the cards I made him were returned to me. Today would have been his 38th birthday, so I took the cards out to remember happier times. The cards are laying on two king size Batman pillow cases that I made him for Christmas several years ago. Up top in the photo you will see a painted rock with the word "whatever" on it. Another Christmas I asked him what he wanted and he replied "I don't know, just whatever," so I made him the rock and wrapped it in a pretty box. I'm sure I bought him something else, but I couldn't tell you what it was. He got a whatever rock and it made him laugh and that's all I remember. Thanks for stopping by and sharing in my memory. Happy birthday baby brother!

*Cake Time card is entered into the AAA Birthday challenge.

The month of May is my birthday month and I have several family members and friends with birthdays this month too. So, I decided to make a couple of  birthday cards for my stash. The first card features the Icing Fluffles stamp by Stampendous!. Since the image is on the larger side, I just pulled the sketch elements down. Copic markers were used to color the image and I paper pieced the cupcake liner. Patterned papers are from the Happy Birthday Girl paper pad by Echo Park (2017) and the yellow polka dots were made with Bo Bunny paper scraps. The second card sticks more to the scale of the challenge sketch and features a candle image by Hampton Art. Papers on this card are from the Happy Birthday Boy paper pad and the same yellow polka dot paper by Bo Bunny was used. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Simple Sympathy Card

Good day! When it comes to making sympathy cards I tend to overthink it and stress about the details. So, I decided to make a Simple Sympathy Card with a design that would be easy to recreate quickly. I went with the less is more approach and used black die cuts (Spellbinders Die D-Lites Asters and Poppies) to speed things along. I made two cards to play with the background color and sentiment. I'm happy with the result and next time I need a sympathy card on short notice I'll know exactly what to make. This card is entered into the Make My Monday Sympathy challenge. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Mother's Day Card - TMS #605

Hello! This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches we have a great sketch by Melissa Craig. I decided to use it to make my Mother's Day Card. The image (retired- Zinnia Bouquet by Taylored Expressions) had been colored during a coloring challenge, so I picked my papers to coordinate. I really like the yellow paper with hearts and couldn't find anything I liked better. It's definitely a bold choice for me, but we only live once.  😊

We would love for you to join us this week! For all the challenge details and design team inspiration click HERE. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your week!

Red Flowers Card

Good day crafty friends! Last week a friend shared that she loves red flowers, so I made this card just for her. I used Copic markers to color the image from Unity Stamps (My Condolences stamp set). The lighter color is more coral than red, but I'm happy with how it turned out. The sentiment is from the Monarchs stamp set by Newton's Nook. A little bit of patterned paper is peeking out around the edges and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!
