Beary Comforting Card

Well... it's finally time to say good riddance to 2020! Many are hoping for a better New Year and I pray that happens. It's been hard not being able to see my family, especially when my dad has had such an awful year. He's had numerous medical issues come up throughout the year. Several years ago he lost hearing in one ear. On Christmas morning he woke up and couldn't hear at all. This week he has been dizzy and having headaches. He went to a specialist and will have further tests, but he is frustrated and in pain. It's really hard when there isn't anything you can do to make things better. Hopefully I can make the trip to see him soon.

This Beary Comforting Card has already been mailed to my dad. The supplies and design are from the December Paper Pumpkin kit by Stampin' Up! called Beary Comforting. This kit will come in handy when I need quick cards for get well and thinking of you occasions. I want to thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Happy Howl-idays Card

Merry Christmas! Our day will be spent with just the two of us as we try to avoid others during this pandemic. We are making stuffed shells with linguine for dinner and I might make some pumpkin bread. It's going to be a nice calm day!

This Happy Howl-idays Card was one of my last minute makes for one of our friends. It was supposed to be a fast and easy card, but I underestimated how long it takes me to color an image. Of course I used red and black Copic markers which, in my opinion, are more challenging to use. So, other than coloring this was a simple card. Everything was adhered flat and I mailed it the day I made it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day however you choose to spend it.

Poinsettia Christmas Card

Good day! By this time all my Christmas cards should have arrived at their destinations. I completely depleted my stash and made several last minute cards. Most of my cards are one of a kind, but I loved this Poinsettia Christmas Card so much that I made four of them. The poinsettia was a lot of fun to color and I tried to make it look like an Iced Punch Poinsettia. The papers and stamps are from Stampin' Up! and the images were colored with Copic markers. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Winter Wreath - TMS #586

Welcome! It's time to wrap up the end of the year at Tuesday Morning Sketches and that means we are having our annual Anything Goes challenge. Click HERE for all the details and design team inspiration. For this challenge it doesn't have to be a card, so I made a Winter Wreath (see below). I wanted something I could leave up all winter and enjoy. It started with a 10" foam wreath that I wrapped in ribbon. There are two layers of ribbon, the top ribbon is more sheer and has glitter and the bottom ribbon is a satin ribbon in the same color. Then I took a piece of mixed media paper and cut it into a circle to fit behind the wreath. The sky was made with the ink smooshing technique using distress inks and then sprayed with some white distress spray. A piece of Pixie Dust glitter paper by Lawn Fawn was used for the snow which was cut with a stitched land border die. All images and trees were made using products by Newton's Nook. The snowman and birds are from the Festive Fawns stamp set and were colored with Copic markers. The little caroling mouse is from the Caroling Newton stamp set and the die cut trees were made using the Forest Scene Builder die set. To finish it off five snowflake sequins were added and that's it.

The challenge goes through January 3, 2021 at 8 pm EST. We would love for you to join us and share what you've been creating. There will be a prize for this challenge and you can check out the details HERE. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Kitty Dreams Christmas Card

Hello! Each year I make a couple of Christmas cards using non-traditional colors. This Kitty Dreams Christmas Card is for my youngest niece. The images and sentiment are from the Christmas Dreams stamp set by Lawn Fawn and everything was colored with Copic markers. After coloring the coordinating dies were used to cut the images and then everything was adhered flat. The patterned papers are by Doodlebug Designs, snowflakes from the Winter Wonderland paper pad and the purple gingham from Petite Prints paper pad. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day! 🎄

Meowy Christmas Card

Hello! This morning I woke up to a winter wonderland and it's snowed all day. It's funny because the weatherman predicted a trace up to an 1" of snow and when I went outside it was up to my ankle. My backyard birds were fighting over food, so I bundled up and took them more seed. It's beautiful and we will enjoy it while it lasts because we don't get snow that often here in Oklahoma.

Now onto this Meowy Christmas Card that I made this afternoon. I'll be sending it to our veterinarians office. The cute kitties and sentiment are from the Christmas Kitties stamp set by Simon Says Stamp and they were colored with Copic markers, then die cut with the coordinating dies. Snowflake paper seemed appropriate today, so I found this paper in the Winter Farmhouse paper pad by Simple Stories and accented it with some plaid by Authentique from the Solitude paper pad. Everything was adhered flat and that's it. Wishing you a warm and wonderful day!

Cardinal In My Thoughts Card

Today is the first anniversary of the day my brother passed away. The remaining pieces of my heart were shattered that day. It has been a year of daily tears and a struggle to accept that both my siblings have passed on. For the remainder of the year I'm taking a break from the computer and being online. I may still post a few things to Instagram but that's about it.

This Cardinal In My Thoughts Card was made for my parents. After my sister passed away I started to take notice of the cardinals in my yard. I have several visit my yard everyday and I truly enjoy their visits. My mom has mentioned the representation of cardinals being a visitor from heaven, so I thought the cardinal was very fitting for this card. It's from the Toile Christmas stamp set by Stampin' Up! and was colored with Copic markers. The sentiment is retired by Stampin' Up! and the patterned paper is from the Winter Farmhouse paper pad by Simple Stories. Well, that's it. Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful December!

So Sorry for Your Loss Card

This time of year is supposed to be happy and joyful, but losing loved ones doesn't stop during the holidays. My friend's mother passed away the day after Thanksgiving and this So Sorry for Your Loss Card is the card I made for her.

The image and sentiment are by Unity Stamps from the My Condolences stamp set. To color the images I used Copic markers. I added a bitty butterfly and that's it. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day.
