Three Cups Coffee Card

Hello and happy Thursday! When it comes to coffee... one cup is not enough! I must admit without my morning caffeine fix I'm not much of a conversationalist. My coffee drink of choice is cold brewed coffee but if it's freezing cold outside I'll drink the warm stuff too. This Three Cups Coffee Card features many of my favorite things: a cat, coffee, butterfly, flowers, gingham along with purple and green colors. All stamps on this card are by Newton's Nook. The cat and coffee cups are from the Sending Hugs stamp set, the flowers and leaves are from the Deer Friend stamp set and the little butterfly is from Newton's Birdbath stamp set. Copic markers were used to color the images and the coordinating framelit dies were used along with a Big Shot. The sentiment was created in a Word document and printed. Using a scalloped frame die by Taylored Expressions with black cardstock finishes the card and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Kitty Coffee Card

Good day! Are you playing along with the Coffee Lovers Spring/Summer Blog Hop? If it weren't for a couple of my crafty friends posting their creations I would have completely forgot. It's going on until Friday, June 1st, so there is still plenty of time to join the fun. This Kitty Coffee Card features a stamp by Whipper Snapper Designs called Kealy. I ordered it a few months ago to use during the hop. The image was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with a stitched oval die by My Favorite Things. All patterned papers are from the True Stories paper pad by American Crafts (2014). The layout is from this weeks sketch challenge at The Paper Players and I'm also entering this card in the Creative Knockouts challenge to use Furry Friends. The sentiment stamp is by Hampton Arts and I used a black marker to mark through the word love and write the word coffee. For the final touch a bitty blue butterfly was added and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Dinosaur Birthday Card

Happy Friday! Last week I printed out the sketch for the Stella Says Sketch challenge at Catch The Bug and I finally made this Dinosaur Birthday Card to play along. The hardest part was deciding on the patterned papers. In the end I decided on the Lawn Fawn plaid with blue and orange watercolor papers from ms. sparkle & co., luckily the colors matched well. The image is called Dino Birthday by Bugaboo Digi Stamps and it was hand colored with Copic markers. To finish the card three yellow candy dots and the Happy Birthday sentiment were added and that's it. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

Welcome Card

Hello! I have a quick post to share this Welcome Card I made for new neighbors who recently moved into our neighborhood. I'm part of the welcome committee and it's a great way to share my handmade cards. This card features a retiring stamp set by Stampin' Up! called Home Life with the coordinating Welcome Home framelit dies. This was the first time I've used this stamp set and it's a layered stamping set, I definitely need some practice. The images didn't get lined up correctly but it still looks okay. Next time I'll use my Misti. All the ink colors are from the upcoming new In-Colors for 2018-2020 and they are Call Me Clover, Grapefruit Grove and Lovely Lipstick. Peeking out from behind the white panel is some new 2018-2020 In Color Designer Series Paper. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Hey Birthday Chick Card

Happy Friday! Today kicks off the start to my birthday weekend. So I made this Hey Birthday Chick Card to celebrate. The layout design for this card was inspired by a card I found while searching online for a fun layout and you can see it HERE. I was immediately drawn to the purple and green colors she used, which are my favorites, but I wanted mine to look different. It's been awhile since I got a little fussy with a card, so this one has several layers, stitching and a single flower embellishment. I contemplated several color combinations but decided the pinks and greens looked pretty with the yellow chick from the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set by Unity Stamps. The image was colored with Copic makers and most of the patterned papers are from the Spring Fling paper pad by Pebbles (2015). Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

In My Thoughts Card

Hello crafty friends! I don't know what is going on, but I'm still having a hard time getting motivated to make anything. My energy levels are just drained! This afternoon I sat down and forced myself to make this In My Thoughts Card. Once I got started coloring the image I did okay. The layout is simple and features the darling Flower Teddy image by Bugaboo Digi Stamps. Copic markers were used to color the image and the patterned papers are from the Dear Lizzy Star Gazer paper pad by American Crafts. If my memory is correct, the sentiment stamp is from Impression Obsession and it was stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink. That's it!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Spring Bunny Card

Happy Friday! It's a windy day here in Oklahoma and although it's supposed to be Spring it feels more like Summer. This time of year the temperatures are usually around 78 degrees and this week it's been close to 90 degrees everyday. Too soon for this warm weather for this girl!!!

I have to admit my creative energy levels have been pretty drained lately but the color challenge at Inky Paws are my favorites, so I summoned the energy to make this Spring Bunny Card. The bunny image is from the retiring stamp set by Newton's Nook called Hello Spring. Since purple tulips are one of my favorite flowers I thought this stamp was perfect for this color combo. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was fussy-cut. The retired tulip frame embossing folder by Stampin' Up! coordinated well with the stamp. A Fiskar's grass punch was used for the green grass and the sentiment is from a Crafter's Companion stamp set. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

Floral Frame Mom Card

This weekend is Mother's Day and this is the card I made my mom. The Floral Frame stamp and die set is by Taylored Expressions and the flowers were colored with Copic markers. The letters for MOM were cut with my Cricut machine. Picking the colors for this card was the hardest part but I think it turned out pretty. Thanks for stopping by and if you're a mother of a human or a fur baby... I wish you a happy Mother's Day this Sunday.

Heartfelt Sympathy Card

Last week a longtime friend of our family passed away and I made this Heartfelt Sympathy Card to send to her family. Unfortunately another family friend passed away yesterday, so I have a few more cards to make. When it comes to making sympathy cards I like to make them when the need arises. I have a few on hand, but I try to make a card that reflects the person who passed. Of course, sometimes that's easier said than done.

This card is entered into the following challenges:

All supplies used on this Heartfelt Sympathy Card have been in my stash for a while and include:
  • Paper: Natural, Fresh Fig, Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock by Stampin' Up! with text patterned paper by Prima Marketing Madeline Collection (2011).
  • Stamps: Visual Artistry by Tim Holtz, With Sympathy by Hero Arts, Bitty Butterfly and sentiment stamp both retired by Stampin' Up!.
  • Inks: Fresh Fig and Crisp Cantaloupe by Stampin' Up!.
  • Other Stuff: Big Shot, retired Framed Tulips embossing folder by Stampin' Up!, Cuttlebug Flourish embossing border, oval punch, scalloped oval punch and butterfly punch all by Stampin' Up!, along with three small pearls by Recollections.

Bunny Smile Card

Last week one of my crafty blogging friends, KT Fit Kitty, posted a card with a bunny and she mentioned a Bunny Hop. Well... since bunnies are one of my favorite critters, I knew I had to join this hop at Crafty Nomad's blog. I combined a few challenges to create this Bunny Smile Card.

First, I selected the Tulip Bunny image by Bugaboo and then I decided to use the color challenge at Catch The Bug. The image was colored with Copic markers and then die cut with a stitched square die. For the patterned paper selections, the green leaves came from the Flora paper pad by Carta Bella and Calypso Coral stripe is from the Petal Garden paper pad by Stampin' Up!. Some retired Calypso Coral twine and retired Crisp Cantaloupe sequins were added. To finish it off a little yellow butterfly with rhinestones and the sentiment from the Affectionately Yours stamp set by Stampin' Up!. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.
