Love Notes at Tuesday Throwdown

Hello and happy Tuesday! Valentine's Day will be here in a couple of weeks and to help inspire you our challenge theme at Tuesday Throwdown this week is Love Notes. Our sponsor is The Paper Shelter and I'm using the I Love You, Baby! image that was generously provided to the design team. As always, we would love for you to play along with our challenge this week. CLICK HERE for all the details and design team inspiration. I hope to see your creation in the gallery!

The digital image comes with coordinating paper, but I decided to do some digging in my paper stash. I knew I had music notes in the perfect color to go with the image and since the frog is playing music, and the theme is Love Notes... it was worth the dig. The sentiment is by Impression Obsession and was stamped using black Memento ink. Five small punched hearts were added for detail and topped with sequins for sparkle. That's it!

Valentine Card for Kids

This morning I woke up to a thin layer of ice on the trees in my yard. The roads are slick which makes for a good morning to stay indoors and cuddle up with a nice cup of coffee. Our weather forecast for the next week looks good, we just have to get past the cold today and rain tomorrow.

My goal this weekend is to finish my Valentine Cards for the Cards from the Heart Card Drive. I usually make 12-18 cards. This card has black scribble heart paper by The Paper Studio with some scrap red by Stampin' Up! The dog stamp is by Recollections (several years ago) and I colored it with Copic markers. To finish it off I added the XOXO sentiment by Stampabilities. If you have time I definitely encourage you to make a few cards for the card drive. It's for a great cause! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Valentine Card Drive

Hello and happy Thursday! For the last several years I have made Valentine's cards for a Card Drive called Cards from the Heart. If you have some time and enjoy making Valentine's cards for kids I encourage you to make cards for the drive. Please be aware there are very specific rules, CLICK HERE for all the details. The cards need to be made for any age or gender which can be a little tricky, so I went with a cute dog which I colored with Copic markers. The layout is simple and three punched hearts were the only embellishments. To speed things along I usually make three or four of the same design. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will make some cards for the card drive!!!

Dragonfly Dreams Card

There is a thin blanket of snow on the ground which makes for a great day to stay inside and make cards. I've been playing with the new stamp set by Stampin' Up! called Dragonfly Dreams and coordinating Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits. The patterned paper is from the new Cupcakes and Carousels paper stack. Colors on this card include: Whisper White, So Saffron and Calypso Coral with Memento black ink on sentiment. Some clear Wink of Stella was added to the dragonfly wings and three retired Crisp Cantaloupe sequins were added for sparkle. Pretty simple but I really like how it turned out. The hardest part was gluing the tiny white cardstock pieces into the die cut design. I was trying to be really careful with the glue and a huge drop came out, luckily it's not noticeable. It never fails when I try to be careful that's when something weird happens. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!!!

New Home Congrats Card

Good day! I'm happy to announce I've joined the Simply Create Too Design Team and today is the beginning of a new challenge. Our theme is New Beginnings and since I'm a Realtor I made a New Home Congrats Card. Other possible themes include New Baby, Weddings, etc. We would love for you to join this challenge! You have until January 27th to link your creations and all the challenge details and design team inspiration can be found HERE. I hope to see your card in the gallery!

Several years back I bought this house stamp by Unity Stamps from a local scrapbook store. It coordinates with a collection of paper by Bella BLVD which I also bought at the time. The paper I've used is from the THANKful collection from 2012 and it's paired with Early Espresso cardstock by Stampin' Up!. I like blues and browns together and by keeping the background subtle the image really pops. The layout for this card is simple and the image was colored with Copic markers. Three sequins accent the die cut congrats sentiment by Impression Obsession and some twine finished it off. That's it! I'm so glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Dragonfly Special Day Card

Hello crafty friends, it's been awhile since my last post. My hubby was off for two weeks during Christmas and the New Year and finally went back to work this morning. It was nice having him around but there was definitely no crafting time while he was home.

This afternoon I had time to play with some new products from the Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog that launched today. I placed a small pre-order before the holidays with a couple of my new favorites. The Dragonfly Dreams Bundle (144728) along with the Cupcakes & Carousels paper pad (142744). I'm a sucker for anything argyle and was happy to see this patterned paper. I kept the card simple and did some layered stamping along with three Bermuda Bay sequins. I kept thinking I had Bermuda Bay sequins but couldn't find them, finally I remembered it was sequin trim (137910) and it was hiding in a drawer. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!
