Beautiful Day Card

Hello crafty friends! I hope all is well with you. Last week our air conditioning unit of fifteen years had to be replaced and we are still working out the kinks with the new one. It's supposed to be more energy efficient and it runs completely different than our old one. The whole ordeal has my hubby very stressed and when he is stressed I feel the affects.

Anyway, when I saw the challenge title at Simon Says Stamp was Midsummer Blues it really captured how I'm feeling. Even though I may be a little depressed I wanted to make a pretty uplifting card. I think it would make a wonderful birthday or anniversary card. The stamps used are from the Doodle Buds set by W Plus 9 Designs, the background paper is from the Tutti Frutti paper pad by My Mind's Eye (2019) and the pinked frame is by Avery Elle. That's it! So glad you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Ginger Kitty Thanks Card - TMS #516

Welcome back! It's time for the start of another sketch this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches and this weeks sketch is designed by me. I would love for you to play along! As always, the design team has created some wonderful inspiration. To play along just make a card using the sketch and link back to the challenge by 8 pm EST on Sunday. All the challenge details can be found HERE. I hope to see your card in the gallery!

To make this Ginger Kitty Thanks Card I used a stamp set by Unity Stamps called Cat's Meow. Copic markers were used to color the image. I colored the kitty to look like one of the rescued cats at a local shelter called Animal Aid of Tulsa. They are dedicated to helping sick, injured and abused stray dogs and cats in the Tulsa area. Next time I take them a donation I'll include this card. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Penguin Watermelon Card

Thanks for stopping by to check out this Penguin Watermelon Card. Watermelon is a loved summer treat here in Oklahoma. My grandparents used to grow them in their garden and sell them in their farm stand. I have many fond memories of summer that involves watermelons. I guess that's why I love this penguin digital image from Whimsy Stamps designed by Crissy Armstrong. Copic markers were used to color the image and then it was die cut with a stitched square die. The sentiment says "Today calls for something sweet" and it's from the retired More Than Words stamp set by Stampin' Up!. All patterned papers are from the Summer Lovin' paper pad by Carta Bella (2014) and that's it. Wishing you a happy and crafty day!

Happy Place Card

It's time to say good-bye to July! Each day we get closer to Fall and that makes me happy. The sunshine is great but I prefer the crisp breeze of Fall.

This Happy Place Card was made using the new Newton's Birdhouse stamp along with the Frames and Flags die set by Newton's Nook. Copic markers were used to color the image and the coordinating die to cut it out. I did a little ink smooshing using Tumbled Glass distress ink and added some green grass punched with a Fiskars grass punch. A piece of patterned paper from the Sunshowers paper pad by Heidi Grace Designs was used and that's it. This Happy Place Card is entered into the following challenges: Addicted to Stamps (Make Your Mark), Inky Paws (Summer Theme), Simon Says Stamp (Anything Goes), Tuesday Throwdown (Furry Friends) and Watercooler Wednesday (Anything Goes). It makes me happy that you stopped by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Hello and happy Tuesday! This weeks sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches by Melissa Craig is really open for your creativity. It's been awhile since I used watercolor, so I decided to watercolor an image by Unity Stamps called Angie's Tree for this Grow with Love Card. The design team has some wonderful inspiration and we all took a different approach to this sketch. I sure hope you will join us this week and link your creation. You have until 8 pm EST on Sunday to play along. There is always a great prize for one lucky winner and it could be you. Click HERE for all the challenge details and design team inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Newton Ice Cream Card

I scream, you scream, we all scream for Ice Cream! A part of me does believe Ice Cream solves everything or at least it should. Anyway... I'm being silly, I guess that's what happens when I'm sleep deprived. We have a cat that's been waking us up at 4 am and it's starting to make me crazy. So, after several cups of coffee I made this Newton Ice Cream Card for the Bright and Cheerful challenge at Simon Says Stamp using the colors from Coloring in Scrapland's photo inspiration (see below). The image is from the Newton's Summer Treats stamp set by Newton's Nook and it was colored with Copic markers. All patterned papers are from the Summer Days paper pad by Echo Park (2010). I got a little creative with the layout and I really like how it turned out. To finish the card three sequins were added for sparkle and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day. 😊
