Fox Thank You Card

Well... it's time to say goodbye to September. I like the month of September but I'm eagerly waiting for the cooler temperatures that arrive in October. It's the crispness in the air and the changing of the leaves that I look forward to in fall. 🍂

To make this Fox Thank You Card I used the sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday. The fox image is by C.C. Designs and it was colored with Copic markers then die cut with the coordinating die. All papers are by Stampin' Up! along with the thank you sentiment, little butterfly and flower. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. The image is called Lend Me Your Ear by Crissy Armstrong at Whimsy Stamps. It was colored with Copic markers and fussy cut. Thinking of You Cards

In these crazy times it's nice to take time and send cards for no particular reason. That's why I love having Thinking of You Cards in my stash. Recently a friend asked me to make her a couple and these are the two cards I made for her. I ended up using patterned paper from two different Bo Bunny paper pads along with some Doodlebug Designs striped paper. It's hard for me to cover up pretty papers, so I used layouts that let the papers be the star of the card. 

Does anyone have advice for getting die cuts to release better? The fancy die cut I used with the jade green paper on the first card does not want to release the small curved areas in the middle and side. The first one I made looked much worse, the second attempt was better but if you look close you can tell it's not as smooth as it should be. Anyway... any good advice is welcome.

Autumn Season Card - TMS #573

 

Hooray! Today is the first day of Autumn/Fall here in the US and that makes me very happy. There are a few trees in our neighborhood that are already starting to change color. We usually end up with lots of leaves in our yard but that's okay. I'll just be glad when we no longer have to mow the lawn!!!🍁

Significant Otter Card

Good day! I have a quick post to share this Significant Otter Card that I made for a wildlife rescue here in Oklahoma. Early in the Spring they took in a baby male otter, but they didn't have any other otters to raise him with or release with him. Then last month they got a phone call from a rescue in Kansas that had a young female otter and they decided to introduce them. Long story short.... they met, fell in love and are now released together. They have each other and it was the answer to increase the odds of their long term survival. 💚

To make this card I used the Christmas Like Not Otter stamp set by Lawn Fawn which was the STAMPtember collaboration with Simon Says Stamp from 2017. The images were colored with Copic markers and die cut with the coordinating dies. For the water a blue inky background was made with mixed media paper and Distress Oxide inks. The grassy paper is by The Paper Studio and to frame the otters a wavy center was cut out using a Wavy Pierced die by Whimsy Stamps. That's it! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Once I decided to make a Thanksgiving Card the rest was easy. I already had the image by Newton's Nook colored and die cut. All I had to do was select and cut the papers, stamp a sentiment and adhere it all together. Thanks again for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Fall Acorn Hi Cards

Good day crafty friends! There is only 12 days until the arrival of fall/autumn here in the United States and that makes me very happy. We were lucky enough to have a cold front push through our area and the temperatures feel like fall. Since this year has been challenging for most, I decided to send simple fall cards to family. These Fall Acorn Hi Cards are easy to make and flat for hassle free shipping. When I make multiples of the same layout I always change the papers. Rarely will I make two identical cards. The acorn is from the retired Acorny Thank You stamp set by Stampin' Up! and it was punched with the coordinating punch. Just Bee-cause Card - TMS #571

Hello! I hope you had a wonderful extended Labor Day weekend. It wasn't very eventful at my house. In fact, I didn't leave the house on Sunday and Monday. I did go outside briefly to feed the birds, but that was the extent of my excitement.

Today is Tuesday and that means the start of another sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. The sketch is designed by Melissa Craig. I got a little creative and my vision was three bees buzzing around the top of a flower. A stencil was used for the flower with Wilted Violet distress ink onto a piece of Spiffy Speckles paper by Lawn Fawn. The bees are from the Bee Happy stamp set by Hello Bluebird and they were colored with Copic markers. That's really it! We would love for you to join us this week. Yellow Butterfly Blossoms Card

Good day! Before I get to my card I have a question for you... have you ever spent time looking for something you swear you have, but it turns out you never purchased it? I looked for a Thinking of You die that I would have bet money I had, only to realize I never bought it. I gave up and looked through my order history at Simon Says Stamp and it wasn't there. I looked through my stash of cards I've made and there is no evidence I ever used it, so I must have dreamed I bought it.  😕

Onto this Yellow Butterfly Blossoms Card that I made using the Butterfly Blossoms stamp by Reverse Confetti. Last year I planted a butterfly bush by my back porch and I've had a lot of butterflies in my yard the last few weeks. When I look out the window it's fun to watch them and I love the big yellow ones! They were the inspiration for this card. I decided to use blue for the background paper and searched through my stash to find the Genevieve Collection paper pad by Bo Bunny (2015). A Thinking of You stamp by Momenta was used to finish the card and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. My grandmother is in a memory care facility and I send her cards, although I don't know if she remembers me at this point. It was last year at Thanksgiving when I saw her last. This Covid pandemic has prevented family from normal visits. Thankfully she is in a good facility and they are staying healthy. I'll be sending this card to her. Thanks for stopping by!
