Spooky Halloween Card

Happy Halloween! Well... it's almost over, but I usually make a Halloween card while waiting for trick-or-treaters. This Spooky Halloween Card was this evenings creation. I made a inky background using distress oxide inks. The stamped images are by Hello Bluebird from the Halloween Party and Little Haunters stamp sets. Copic markers were used to color the images and then they were die cut with the coordinating dies. The spooky tree was a freebie I received with a recent Simon Says Stamp order and that's it. Thanksgiving Card with Raccoon

Hello! It's a rainy and cold day which make the perfect crafting days. I decided it was time to make a few cards for Thanksgiving. When it comes to coloring images I can be pretty slow, so smaller images work better when I'm making multiple cards. This Raccoon image is from the Bushels of Love stamp set by Newton's Nook from the 2016 Simon Says Stamp Exclusive. The Happy Thanksgiving sentiment stamp by Stampabilities is a wooden stamp that I found on clearance last summer. All patterned papers are from the 2015 Fall Friends paper pad by Doodlebug Designs. Pick of the Patch Card - TMS #527

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another new sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This weeks sketch is pretty simple and can be utilized for a wide variety of occasions. I went with Halloween and made this Pick of the Patch Card for my three year old nephew. He recently went to the pumpkin patch and had a great time, so I thought all the pumpkins would be fun. The image is called Halloween Peeker Ghost by Bugaboo Stamps and the sentiment is from a Newton's Nook stamp set called Boo-tiful Night. Three orange stars added to the green strips of paper to follow the sketch and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping.

Where is the Candy? Halloween Card

Only a few more days until Halloween! Our yard is decorated and I've bought the candy, because it's all about the candy. Unfortunately, the weather is going to be cooler than normal for Halloween night. I'm hoping we still get a good number of trick-or-treaters! If not my hubbies coworkers will get some candy. 🎃

All my cards have been mailed for this year but I'm still in the Halloween mood. So, I made this Where is the Candy? Halloween Card to get a head start on next years cards. The sentiment and images are from the Where is the Candy? stamp set by Gerda Steiner Designs. After the images were colored I fussy cut them (because I couldn't find the coordinating dies, they are somewhere in my mess). The patterned paper is from the Pumpkin Party paper pad by Doodlebug Designs. I love the colors in this paper collection! Peeking Cat Hello Card

Hello! There are only hours left of this years Cat Lovers Blog Hop, so I made this Peeking Cat Hello Card to honor our middle cat. We adopted him five years ago and for the first year we thought it was a big mistake. Previously he was adopted as a kitten from our vets office then he was returned at five months old. The owners said they couldn't take care of him due to a death of a family member. The poor boy was evidently left alone a lot and had severe separation anxiety. He was a challenge, but we knew if we gave up on him it would break his spirit. Now, five years later he is the most affectionate cat we have and we couldn't image life without him. He just needed time to adjust to all the changes! There are days he is still a little crazy but he is so loveable it makes up for it.💚

Last year I saw a card using the Feline Curious image by Stampendous! and I knew it would look great colored like him (photos below). Although I've been hesitant to use it because coloring with black Copic markers is a little intimidating, but I think it turned out okay. Once the image was colored I fussy cut it and adhered it flat to the plaid and woodgrain paper. The sentiment is from the Pretty Kitty stamp set by Stampin' Up!. That's it! Kitty Trick or Treat Card

Greetings! Overnight a cold front moved in and brought with it some rain, which we needed. When I left the house to run errands I didn't bring a jacket and definitely wished I had. It's that time of year here in Oklahoma where it can be short sleeves one day and coats the next.

I'm almost done with my Halloween cards and plan to mail them on Saturday. I like the cards to arrive right before the holiday. This Kitty Trick or Treat Card features an image from the Newton's Nook Boo-tiful Night stamp set and trick or treat die cut from the Halloween Trio Die set. The background was made with Distress Oxide Inks and then I stamped some grasses from the Nature's Beauty stamp set by Stampin' Up!. It was adhered to a swirl patterned paper by Doodlebug Design from the Boos & Brews paper pad. Three sequins were added for sparkle and that's it. On My Mind Card - TMS #526

Happy Tuesday! This month is flying by and it's time for the start of another sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I think you will like this weeks sketch! It was designed by Laura Jean Nygaard (LJ) and it features a tag for the focal area. When creating my card I didn't notice the different layers on the sketch until LJ posted her finished card. After seeing her card I looked closer and then I saw the slight different shades to indicate another layer. My vision is definitely not as good as it used to be! 👀

Cat Thinking of You Card

Good day crafty friends! Today is the start of the 2019 Cat Lovers Blog Hop and I've made this Cat Thinking of You Card to play along. It features the Really... Kitty? stamp set by Unity Stamps and the image was colored with Copic markers. The kitty was colored to look like my first house cat that I had when I was in high school (photo below). She lived with me for twenty years before she crossed the rainbow bridge and she was the sweetest kitty I've ever had (so far). I wanted to use Fall colors and found the brown hearts paper from the Penelope paper pad and mixed it with the leaves from the Beautifully Brisk paper pad both by Bo Bunny. The sentiment is retired from the Wetlands stamp set by Stampin' Up!. For a little sparkle three sequins were added and that's it. Hello! I'm still working on my Halloween cards and the time is nearing to get them mailed. So this afternoon I selected a few challenges and made this Halloween Trick or Treat Card. The image and sentiment are from the Happy Howl-oween stamp set by Newton's Nook and were colored using Copic markers then die cut with the coordinating die. The polka dot paper is from the Boos & Brews paper pad by Doodlebug Design (2016) and the green is by Lawn Fawn from the Watercolor Wishes paper pad (2017). Good day! It's really beautiful outside today and I probably should be doing some yard work, but I decided to make my hubby a card. He does a lot for me and I could do a better job at giving recognition. Although I may say thank you it's been said that actions speak louder than words and I do believe that's true. So I'm trying to be more aware of my actions of gratitude and hopefully he will notice. 😊

Mummy Halloween Card

Hello! The hubby and I decorated our front yard last night for Halloween. We have a dozen inflatables and we put lights on the trees and bushes. It makes it fun for the kids and our yard is known for it's Halloween decorations. My favorites are the black cats and one of our neighbors told us that her daughter blows kisses to them when they drive by, so cute.

Well, onto this Mummy Halloween Card featuring a retired image by Bugaboo Stamps. It's been printed for a while and I thought it would work well with the current Stella Says Sketch challenge. I mixed several different patterned papers and used a trick or treat sentiment from the Happy Howl-oween stamp set by Newton's Nook. Copic markers were used to color the image and everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. One more Halloween card done and about six more to go to have enough for my family and friends. Kitty Witch Halloween Card

Happy Friday! This month is quickly getting away from me and I still have several Halloween cards to make. If you've followed my blog for awhile then you know I love cats, rabbits and pretty much any cute critter. Earlier this year I found a new to me stamp company called Hello Bluebird and they have some super cute critters. This Kitty Witch Halloween Card features images from their Halloween Party stamp set which were colored with Copic markers and die cut with the coordinating dies. A piece of star paper from the Bootiful Night paper pad by American Crafts (2016) was selected and the focal area was made with Distress Oxide inks in: Carved Pumpkin, Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, Seedless Preserves with a touch of Black Soot. The final touch was adding the Happy Halloween die cut from Impression Obsession. Like most of my cards everything was adhered flat for easy shipping. It happens all the time! I get up from my craft chair and return to find one of my cats taking advantage of the warm seat. This is one of the reasons I don't get more accomplished. I let him keep the chair and I wait until the little chair thief moves on. 😊

Celebrate Birthday Card

Hello! Today I remember my sister as it would have been her 43rd birthday. It's been 8 years since she passed but it still hurts. The occasions are the hardest but the hole of our missing relationship is always present❣ Making cards has been my therapy, so it was only fitting that I made a card on her birthday.

To make this Celebrate Birthday Card I used the sketch at the Inky Paws challenge for the layout. Since my sister liked dogs I decided to use the Let's Pawty STAMPtember set by Newton's Nook (it's sold out). At one time she had a yellow lab named Cooper, so I colored the image to look like him using Copic markers. All patterned paper are from the Happy Birthday paper pad by Echo Park (2017). Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. I feel like this card could be given to anybody and it's nice to have a few of those in my stash. Oh Nuts! Happy Fall Card

Good day! My backyard is frequented by numerous squirrels who like to steal the birdseed and that's fine by me. I think they are adorable! It's common to see them hanging upside down or chasing each other. They are definitely entertaining little critters! When I saw the Oh Nuts! stamp set by Hello Bluebird it was an easy decision to add it to my stamp collection.

To make this Oh Nuts! Happy Fall Card I stamped the images with Memento black ink and colored them with Copic markers. The coordinating dies were used to cut them out. For the background I used mixed media paper and distress oxide inks in Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky and Peeled Paint. Then the sentiment was added. Hello! If you've ever lost a loved one then you know it's a One Day at a Time situation. Right after a loss the sympathy cards pour in, but what about the weeks or months after? I like to send a card several weeks later and the One Day at a Time sentiment is one of my favorites to use. For this card I really wanted to use fall colors and a cardinal, so that's what I did. The cardinal is from the Winter Birds stamp set by Newton's Nook which were colored with Copic markers and then die cut with the coordinating dies. The floral and plaid papers are from the Mad 4 Plaid Fall paper pad by Photo Play and the whitewash woodgrain is by Stampin' Up!. Everything was adhered flat for easy shipping and that's it. Good day! Recently it was National Coffee Day and Jessica Lynn Original created this cat/coffee digital image for the occasion. The mug was created solid but I stamped small hearts onto my mug and then the image was colored with Copic markers. This Newton's Birdhouse Card was made using the Newton's Birdhouse stamp set by Newton's Nook and papers from the Family Traditions collection by Webster's Pages. For the focal panel I did some ink smooshing using Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint distress ink. Copic markers were used to color the image and it was die cut with the coordinating die.
